Brad, you were right. Kerry in a landslide. I’m calling %53-55 minimum for Kerry. The American people, regardless of whatever spinning happens this weekend, have had their wakeup call.

Bryan, I like your enthusiasm for our candidate to win, but all this spinning will make it much, much closer. Kerry, by a hair, in the popular vote…. not president-elect until the courts in two states decide.

i hear you. Here is what i think is necessary after the new Administration is sworn in. First we need to look at diplomacy. Forcing our "allies" to make serious structural political and economic changes in their societies. Notice that the American government was compared to the despots of the region. It is the unwavering support of these last that root the political movementof terrorism is these communities. It is, as Tariq Ali has called it, an anti-imperialism of fools" but it is effective nonetheless. The maintainance of this vile ideology is directly related to foreign policy support for tyrants. Democratization undermines terrorism as long as this last does not come from the barrel of a gun.
