Brad,
Now that you are back why don't you pat some of the guest bloggers on the back? And while you are at it, give John a pat too!
We all like to read the posts as close as we read congressional legislation after all ... since there is no other place to get that info you know.
And perhaps also a special thanks is due to the spy master (no, not 99), who had the balls to admit he is a bullshitter:
In a new embarrassment for the Bush administration top spymaster, Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell is withdrawing an assertion he made to Congress this week that a recently passed electronic-surveillance law helped U.S. authorities foil a major terror plot in Germany.
(Newsweek). Now that is as rare as hens teeth.
Welcome back to Los Angeles, truth capitol of the werld.

Blogs and bloggers (is there a difference?) just dodged a bullet:
Political bloggers can breathe a sigh of relief, as the Federal Election Commission (FEC) has just resolved two complaints by determining that Internet blogging activities are not within FEC regulation because such activities fall within media and volunteer exemptions.
(Eric Sinrod). Let us "continya ta continya" as one southern politician once said.

Being it is now 9-13, did anyone throw this one out there yet ?
9/11 - the big cover-up?
Even the chair of the 9/11 Commission now admits that the official evidence they were given was 'far from the truth'
What they got was a turkey. The 9/11 Commission was hamstrung by official obstruction. It never managed to ascertain the whole truth of what happened on September 11 2001.
The chair and vice chair of the 9/11 Commission, respectively Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton, assert in their book, Without Precedent, that they were "set up to fail" and were starved of funds to do a proper investigation. They also confirm that they were denied access to the truth and misled by senior officials in the Pentagon and the federal aviation authority;
and that this obstruction and deception led them to contemplate slapping officials with criminal charges.

BradBlog is in my top 5... hell of a job covering stuff that matters most. Funny how little we hear of election problems in the MSM, among other important issues. I'm not as skilled in technical issues such as source code or hardware, but from what I've learned through this site and others like it is that these machines have got to go if there is any chance of honest folks in high places. That is of course, if we're not screwed already. As so many have already said before, if B is allowed to attack Iran, presumably before the next election, the world will change in ways that things like voting will be a thing of the past. If you think the stock market looks freaky now, just think of the mess if we bomb Iran and China pulls it's reserve notes out...
Gold anyone?

Well that is a welcomed relief,.. back home safe and sound. I thought you volunteered to be bait or hor dourves for the brown bears and mountain lions up in the high country.
Any nibbles from the wild beasts as you folks tried to sleep out in the tundra, or did you come back with ten toes and ten fingers ?

I never stopped, OldTurk. Unfortunately.
John, may do a Summer Retrospective piece in a bit. Also, may be heading back to St. Louis in November. I'm sure John Diehl, St. Louis County Election Director, will be happy to hear that.

Happy to see you've made it back home finally!
And no doubt, John Gideon really kept this place glued together while you were gone.
I'll let you rest for a few, and then contact you and Steve Heller about dinner...I owe Steve (and his wife of course), and I'm determined to make sure you eat a good meal at least once this year. On top of that, I'd like to extend this offer to any regular BradBlog reader in the Southern California area - it would be cool to get a group of folks together who have so much in common, for a night of fun and good food.
If you're available, please email me at sluggojd @ sbcglobal dot net, and put something in the title, like "Bradblog Dinner," since I delete a lot of spam everyday, like most other folks lol.
John

They mention Brad Blog in this latest GOP sex scandal:
"Audio from the Signorile show on Patrick McHenry and the latest sordid GOP gay scandal "
http://www.pamshouseblen...howDiary.do?diaryId=2933
And here's ANOTHER Republican sex scandal:
"This week, the chairman of the St. Petersburg, Florida, City Council was accused of having sex with his two adopted daughters and their nanny. And he could have been in real trouble, too, if it turned out the nanny was an illegal. But he got ahead of the story when he killed himself by sitting in the garage with the doors closed and the riding lawn mower on. "

Even staunch Republican voters have to notice that all the FREAKS are in the GOP. What is going on??? Is their party some kind of Freak Club or something???

Hi Brad - Glad to hear you and Desi got back safe and sound - it's always nice to sit back and rest your bones after a spell on the road. That said, it was great fun following your posts as you wended your way around our once- and perhaps future-again-great land. If we can somehow wrest control of our own fates back from the greatest miscreants in American history, a good portion of the credit will surely go to you and your dogged pursuit of the truth. Thanks, and keep up the great work!
