Kids.. you might want to put at least a sentence or two about what your link is about. I'm at work (as are many others) and not about to follow links from people I've never seen (though we know Ricky) to places that I have no clue what content is going to pop up. Not to mention, this is a blog.. we "write" here.. make a point? use the link as further evidence or to expound on what you're saying? but say something..
Perhaps I'm just grumpy because it's before noon..
(on topic) I find it amusing that people in politics have a hard time with absentee ballots, but the right-wing expects uneducated people to figure these things out. Clearly, there's a problem with the system when a Presidential Aide has issues doing something ordinary people are supposed to do.
Also amusing that "mr. innocent" might get voted out of Congress.. woot! I guess not all ring-wingers are as stupid as the trolls make them out to be

Incumbent Delay has little to worry about with the opposition split in numerous pieces. How many are stalking horses?

So what kinda voting system do they have in TX in DeLay's district?
And what's up with Soledad's comment,
"That staffer has been shot."
Ha Ha Ha...
I understand her black humor, but did y'all find it a little weird?

> It has been reported that an aide made a mistake with his absentee ballot
People make mistakes

Yeah.. and that mistake costs the American Public several million dollars as now we have to fire up Airforce One and a small army of secret service folks so one person can vote..
Million Dollar Mistake.. sounds to me like that aide should be fired.. and again, when the process is difficult enough to cause a Presidential Aide to "make a mistake", the process might be too difficult.. Or, the aide is too stupid to be an aide? Either way, this mistake cost some social program to lose 1/2 of it's entire year's funding.. but not to worry, the big oil companies still get there billions in tax breaks, and that 7 billion in forgiven taxes for public land oil deal is still a go..

I wonder if they'll provide jet services for all the people displaced by hurricane Katrina if there's 'mistakes' with their absentee ballots.

BVAC, most of them can't get their ballots, I'm sure. They aren't in their districts and other districts probably refuse to supply them.. Rest assured.. the votes in NO will likely be mostly the well off white folks that didn't lose everything.
Hell, they can't even get them the trailers we paid for.. they are in Arkansas but no one seems to have any land near NO to put them on.. so there sits our tax dollars.. well spent, as usual..

Having lived in Sugar Land Delay is disliked by many and the local paper has revealed for years his many dirty underhanded talents. He is not called HOT TUB Delay for nothing. Mr. pretending to be so high and Christian may finally be able to spend all his time in the hot tub. Hopefully.

I'm sure the GOP already has in place, plans to take advantage of disenfranchised black voters down there. Does anyone doubt that? That was their first post-Katrina plan, not helping those people.
Do you think the GOP sat around and said, "How can we help these people?" OR "How can we take advantage of this situation?"

The download link is for the wrong clip.
I'm thinking the reason Republicans are so successful raising money, even while under indictment for crimes, is BECAUSE of those crimes. The lobbyists are paying for the legislation their clients want, and Republicans will deliver, whether or not it is any good for the country. If you think about it, it's always been easy to get donations for THAT.
Problem is: When you're voting for someone, you are literally voting for someone to have the power of life and death over you. How many of us REMEMBER THIS when casting our ballots? If more of us did, maybe "Wally" never would have had the chance to make a buck offering a means to rig the vote.

"An aide made a mistake with (Bush's) absentee ballot?" So he's going to a place where he can vote electronically? Without a paper trail? He's flying halfway across the country to vote at taxpayer expense because someone screwed up his ballot?
Somehow this seems like a metaphor for the last five years of American history. Ineptitude, crookedness, contempt for the public. Wonder what would have happened if he'd been registered to vote in New Orleans instead of Crawford.

DeLay was just announced the HANDS-DOWN WINNER with 65% of the GOP's votes! (No run-off.)
I can't help but think that the voting machines ARE rigged. My friends in Texas said that they were disgusted with DeLay, and they only expected him to squeeze by. This is a rout.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this one - for what in heaven's name did duhbaya need anyone handling his absentee ballot in any way that could screw it up? I've been voting absentee from Prague for years, and I can't imagine letting anyone else in the world watch me or in any way assist me until the outer envelope was sealed. It's a sort of a private thing, so what actually happened there? We have the right to know, ocnsidering the expense and pollution that resulted from whatever it was.

DeLay was running in a gerrymandered district where republicans were voting for republicans.
The November election will be the one that tells it all.
I like the democratic candidate's chances better in that election running against DeLay.
If DeLay were defeated by an honest republican, the democratic candidate would have a tougher November campaigning against an honest republican than a dishonest one.
I am glad DeLay won the primary, because the real election will now cover crime, corruption, gerrymandering, and a whole host of things of that nature.

Response to "DREDD" comment # 22
That is an important point to bring forth,..
That Texas Primary for U.S. House,..
was a exercise that proves little or nothing,...
It was a Republican Primary,.. for Republicans,..
by Republicans to pick their candidate for the general (real) election coming in 2006.
What is to say the other three candidates were not straw candidates,.. who rolled over,.. to give
THEBUGMAN (the criminal cock roach) a chance
cleanse/wash his sole of criminality to give
THEBUGMAN the aurora of cleanliness,.. so he can win the general election and resume his throne
of power.
As "DREDD" said the real test remains for the general election in the fall of 2006,... the real
battle to dispose this human garbage (MR. Thomas
Delay) has only just begun.
Democratic candidate Nick Lampson is the tiger
we want unleashed in Washington D.C. - if this man wins the 2006 fall election,... then Tom Delay can
crawl and slither back to the hole from which he came. This battle ground in Texas will likely be
the most expensive U.S House race we have ever seen in history.
Do not despair because Delay won a Republican
Primary Election,... that means little to nothing. Failure to support Nick Lampson is very much to our
detriment,... that is the contest that MUST be won.
Hold your fire,.. until you see the white of their
eyes,... then fire them muskets in a constant
barrage. May that battle begin !!!!!!
Bye-bye,.. Tom Delay,... your days are numbered.
