I agree with you. It was Linda Lamone staunch "democrat" from the state board who was fully involved in the corruption of allowing these machines.
And when people from either party, especially the most corrupt use it as a way to get into office to enact their own special interest group legislation----everyone loses.
Everyone loses, especially those who so called "voted" but had it passed into the ether on a black box.
Yes there was a great many problems with the national races and republican stealing, but there was just as many issues in local races on the other side and frankly its time for the country to throw it out.
Throw the machines out; accept a real vote for once.

The republican white house and spy agencies are directing a widespread activity to reclassify documents (link here).
My guess is that some of this is vote machine or other election related material that looks irrelevant.
But somehow I do not think the republicans are unaware of the sniffing out of all matters about voting machines that has been going on.
And I am sure they have well developed talking points to shift the blame on to democrats. It is only one of their ways of lying.

How the US Congress works
"the Senate divides its tasks among 20 committees, 68 subcommittees, and 4 joint committees" ...
"The chair of each committee and a majority of its members represent the majority party. The chair primarily controls a committee’s business" (link here).
How many democrats, independents, greens, or other parties chair committees in the senate or the house? Zero.
Republicans are where the power and the accountability of congress lies.
Both the White House and the Congress are republican controlled.
So what party do we vote out for exercising power and bringing us to the miserable state of the union today?
Clue: The chair of each senate committee is republican and a majority of each committee's members are republican. The republican chair primarily controls all senate committee business of all senate committees. That is the law.
It's a republican thang.
Clue #2: Whether the minority is composed of independents, greens, or democrats they have zero committee chairs, zero committee membership majorities, and zero committee control.

How can you "agree" with David when he did not say what you "agreed" to about Linda?

Dredd Because its mentioned in the article he points to. You need to stop seeing it in such a partisan tinted light or its going to ruin your focus.
Its just my warning. I really don't care if you blame all republicans for everything, that you can do. What I do care about is when you insist no democrats have anything to do with it.
There's plenty of democrats, and even some wafflers who are INVESTED in voting machines and corruption.
Especially the DLC itself. When you say its all republicans fault and theirs alone since they are the majority, it turns alot of people off to your message by making it strictly some partisan thing. Through your partisan eyes.
As an independent however I see it quite differently and as others have said: It is alot of the republicans, and quite a few democrats and others who keep this corruption in PLACE.
It is ALL of their faults. Now, there is some republicans who might not be like that. And they are FEW and far between. And as for democrats there may be alot who are not involved in this BS coverup as well; but apparently they don't have a voice in the media. And they certainly don't denounce the DLC and the rest of the democrats who "play" the game with their handlers.
And as I said, those are just the facts of the game.

The criminal president could not have done it alone. He is one of many.

Therefore, republicans are where the power and the accountability of congress lies.
Both the White House and the Congress are republican controlled. All the Cabinet is republican.
It's a republican thang, and if the neoCons have become the republicans, which they have for the most part, then remember the status quo is a function of that republican power.
It is just a fact Doug, and you need to cozy up to the facts rather than cozy up to the fogs.

WHAT VOTING LEADS TO
The legal structure of our congress does not support a multi-party system, and is designed really for a two party system. This is not good.
Under the law of the House and Senate, "the Senate divides its tasks among 20 committees, 68 subcommittees, and 4 joint committees" ... "The chair of each committee and a majority of its members represent the majority party. The chair primarily controls a committee’s business" (link here).
Take an example where republicans win 30 seats, independents win 28 seats, greens win 29 seats, and democrats win 13 seats. We can now easily see that this will not work well.
The republicans with 30 seats end up as the majority party. Remember that the majority party and the majority are not the same thing in our example. The majority is 70 votes (greens, indys, and dems), but the majority party is 30 republican seats.
Therefore, they get the committee chair on each committee, and they get the majority number of members in each committee.
So, in our system, the majority of seats would be governed by the minority 30 seats.
Anyone see any way to improve this?
