Looks like we scooped AP with our report yesterday on Ambassador Joe Wilson’s call for Bush to fire Rove last night. They’re just now running their story on it.
Meanwhile, back at Disinfo Central…If you missed the Rush Limbaugh show this morning, you missed quite the lolapalooza. He’s become positively unglued vis a vis the Plame/Rove affair. And it was a hoot!
The “theory” that Rush has been pummelling his Ditto Heads with all day: Joe Wilson has been a part of a double super secret background conspiracy with the DNC since day one, well before he was sent by the CIA to Niger.
Yes, that’s right. According to Rush, the entire plan to send George W. Bush’s own father’s Man in Iraq — a decades-long expert in African and Middle-Eastern affairs to Niger — was all just a ploy by Democrats “to undermine the War in Iraq and the Bush Presidency,” as Rush repeatedly described it.
We suppose then, that Bush 41’s letter sent to Wilson saying that he concurred with much of the article that Wilson wrote prior to the war in the San Jose Mercury News was also part of that conspiracy.
Why is Dubya’s own father trying to destroy Dubya’s own “Presidency”, dammit?!
Rush’s final words at the end of the show (referring to the Press Conference scheduled by Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) to happen shortly): “Chuck Shumer is Joe Wilson’s ‘handler’ in this agency plot to bring down the President.”
Good lord, these Right Wing Tin-Foil Hat wearers never fail to entertain.
Po’ po’ Rush he was even having trouble getting anything but callers who were supportive of Wilson today! Rush is in as much trouble today as his White House counterpart Scottie McClellan has been in all week in the WH press room.
We’re also honored that Rush was unglued enough to refer to The BRAD BLOG as a “left wing blog” at the top of the show when he said that “Wilson was even speaking to left wing bloggers last night.”
He didn’t mention us by name though. Geez, we always give him full credit for everything he says. Oh, well.

I laughed the whole time he was trying to explain How he still thought Hans Blix was a bafoon even after a caller lambasted him with the fact that Blix and Wilson were correct in their assesments of Iraq and Bush has NEVER been correct. Rove shouldn’t have been saying anything to Cooper about Wilson’s wife at all, knowing that she worked at the CIA. By the way, how did he know that? And why would he care if Cooper thought Tenet was the push behind Wilson’s appointment?
Anyway, if Rove is so innocent why did the White House deny for two years that he was involved at all in this mess, and why did he put Cooper and the country through all the stress and expense of the investigation before he finally stood up at the absolutely last minute and admitted he was involved?

Kelly had given her plenty of help for one of the books she wrote on WMD. I have the impression he mistakenly thought of her as a friend.
Oddly, when she wrote up a story about him after his death, she never mentioned a word about being his "friend" — and while she mentioned email he had sent to another reporter earlier in the week, she never said word one about herself having received that cryptic email on the day he died.
Miller finds herself in the thick of almost every dark scandal. My hunch is that she went to prison to cloak herself in the First Amendment — in order to avoid pleading the Fifth Amendment.
I’ve always seen her as a co-conspirator. And she can’t allow herself to sit for the grand jury, because if she does plead the Fifth, all Fitzgerald would have to do would be grant her immunity…and then she couldn’t hide behind the Fifth amendment after all.
Some of the corporate-owned media journalists are starting to come around and act like real journalists. Even though they are coming around, let’s not forget it’s because they’re more afraid of the left now than of the administration. They can see our white-hot rage and our determination has exceeded that of their critics on the right. What if Judith "I’m an ethical journalist and willing to go to jail to safeguard my ethics and sources" was really Bob Novak’s "non-partisan" source that had allegedly spoken to him regarding Valerie Wilson and her alleged involvement with the decision to send Joseph Wilson to Niger. See the article in the NYT today that provides cover to the neoCONS by spinning Novak having first talked with a non-partisan source who confirmed Valerie Wilson/Plame’s alleged involvement, and her role at the CIA. Then, supposedly he spoke with Rove who asked "You know about that? (quotations meant figuratively, as I do not recall verbatim the substance of the quote attributed to Rove when speaking to Novak, but close enough".
I just bet that the MSM’s sweetheart du jour, Judith Miller (she who fought the evil Special Prosecutor to make America safe for journalists and anonymous sources), is in this up to her beady little eyeballs, and has run for cover under the blanket of journalistic standards and ethics, when indeed, she is doing nothing more than a fancy two-step dance to avoid having to publicly admit that she is really asserting her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

GIF, #42— you may be on to something. Novak had two sources, one that fed him the info on Plame, and another that confirmed. Rove was the one who confirmed (although he tries to spin it so that he just commented, "oh, yeah, I heard that, too.") Do you suppose Miller actually GOT the info from Rove, passed it to Novak, and SUGGESTED that he confirm it with Rove? Tricky way for Rove to cover his tracks–his modus operandi. And that does explain perfectly why Miller’s in prison now; if she talks it’s the death knell for Rove.
I still think that the plot was hatched in the Oval Office, however, and leads back to Bush/Cheney. Even if Rove initiated the leak, there were conversations at highest levels that preceded it. SOMEBODY ordered the search for damaging info on Wilson. It didn’t just happen.

There is no SECRET PLOT to bring down the Bush Presidency.
It, in fact, is a LOUD and very PUBLIC demand and goal of the majority of the American people, who did not vote for Bush, to have Bush and his administration removed from office!

Ask yourselves one question, and the whole issue of Rove/Plame becomes much clearer.

There is no innocent reason for Rove, who at the time had no role in policy making, to have been the least bit concerned about Valerie Plame one way or the other, and no reason for Judith Miller, Robert Novak, Matt Cooper or any other journalist to have either offered information to Rove about Valerie Plame or to have received the same from him.
The fact that Rove, a political adviser to Bush, was involved at all (even if his role was only to confirm her identity to Novak), can mean one thing only. THE IDENTITY OF VALERIE PLAME AS A C.I.A. OPERATIVE, A MATTER THAT MUST ALWAYS BE DIVORCED FROM POLITICS, WAS REVEALED IN A POLITICALLY MOTIVATED ACT. No other explanation is possible, and nothing more is needed to know that Rove must be fired.
