When all you've got is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
When you've done wrong everyone looks like an enemy.
When your boss is an idiot everyone else seems to be a genius (see: super secret Dem + CIA plan...).
BTW, how did Rush find out about the Wilson plan?

I did love the melt down. I laughed the whole time he was trying to explain How he still thought Hans Blix was a bafoon even after a caller lambasted him with the fact that Blix and Wilson were correct in their assesments of Iraq and Bush has NEVER been correct. In limbaughs drug induced haze, he could not find a proper comback for actual FACTS being thrown into his ever growing face. Facts SUCK for the GOP.

Rush has been acting in concert with Ambassador Coulter, Undersecretary Hannity, and Deputy Secretary O'Reilly. Together they gathered evidence of Wilson's grand plot, and persuaded the first President Bush to join it.
You might wonder how these right-wing media folks obtained cabinet jobs in the first place. One day when W. was clearing brush at Crawford, Cheney was at an undisclosed location, and Congress was out of session, Rupert Murdoch made recess appointments in their absence.

I wonder why it took KKKarl 2 years and the pressing incarceration of Cooper to come out of the closet and reveal that he was the one who did nothing wrong . If I was a GOP bottomfeeder about to enjoy lemon Chicken with two fruits and rice pilaf along with a great ocean view for 20+ years that lame excuse would make perfect sense....DUH

"...this agency plot to bring down the President..."? Rush said that? Does that mean that Rush discerns a secret Liberal intent to this investigation? Or does it mean that Rush knows the President was involved in the Plame outing? Or does it mean that Karl Rove is the real President?

Jimmo,
Posting your article three times does not make it true. You actually sound like you are trying to convince yourself.
Rove shouldn't have been saying anything to Cooper about Wilson's wife at all, knowing that she worked at the CIA. By the way, how did he know that? And why would he care if Cooper thought Tenet was the push behind Wilson's appointment?
Anyway, if Rove is so innocent why did the White House deny for two years that he was involved at all in this mess, and why did he put Cooper and the country through all the stress and expense of the investigation before he finally stood up at the absolutely last minute and admitted he was involved?
Sorry hon. Your boy is caught and his goose will be cooked. Got nothing to do with politics and everything to do with the sleazy underhanded way this Administration operates.,

Plamegate Schamegate. I'm anxiously awaiting the moment when the entire country realizes that Rove AND Limbaugh, and a number of other well-known right-wingers, are gay as geese. This CIA business has put Rove in the headlights --- just where he doesn't want to be. Now details of his personal life will begin to emanate, including the news of his White House romps with "Jeff Gannon." My goodness, what will the homophobic religious crazies say about so many of their protectors being secretly gay? Plamegate is just the beginning of Rove's problems.

glad to hear about rush.
everyone knows where rush is on this but this is the time to permanently 'out' rove's other, less obvious, media operatives.
now that rove's crew have decided on a strategy and sent out the talking points i hope progressives use this opportunity to point out (list) and marginalize all of those parroting defenders as paid bush media 'operatives'.
this is a golden opportunity to paint big, long lasting Ws on their often (wierdly) square and sizeable foreheads, especially those who often enjoy the freedom of appearing as 'moderate and thoughtful' commentators and who are now becoming accessories--eg Byron York, who was just out talking to hannity and hume.
also: Bush must have been in the loop on this-- it is the kind of thing rove knows W would enjoy---- revenge against wilson for undermining his fortress of certitude. and all those new angles from wayne madsen really look interesting too.

Why isn't Rush condemning the 'conspiracy theorists' today? Only the brazenness of this bunch of rats prevents their machinations from qualifying as a conspiracy. Andrew Sullivan, praised by Howard Kurtz (!?!?) for his "intellectual rigor" (sure thing) must be outed as a fool who can't tell shit from shinola except as regards networking for a job. He has many peers in that regard, for journalism is now just a dining club of bloated, fevered egos who think that they are celebrities, and not just replaceable parts in a corporate moneymaking device. If we ever want to get back to a decent standard of journalism, the conglomerates, both foreign and domestic, must be busted to atoms.
Douglas Feith, just on Gopher Blitzer's buttcam, continues to make the outrageous and false claims that have been discredited a hundred times over. And still pigheaded dupes like Jimmo believe them and endorse the "stupidest policy"(Colin Powell) ever borne of the meddling folls who make up our civilian command today. Nauseous!

Here's some liberal conspiracy theory:
The Wilsons are on the list of those that Bolton had surveilled - the list the WH won't release. The intercepts were done with his authorization because there was precedent with his office doing that occasionally, BUT it was ultimately through executive order.
It's obvious. It all ties together.

Kudos on the scoop, Brad! Great journalism and superb blogging! As to Rush.....he doesn't deserve the time and space you give him here. The man speaks to his own choir of weirdos most of the time, and is a diversion for others much as any comedy show might be. He's a joke and a half and people who take him seriously would never be anywhere but on the extreme right no matter what.
More distressing was the Wolf Blitzer interview with Wilson on CNN today. The entire interview was an interrogation of Wilson and his motives, - Wilson and his political affiliations, Wilson and Wilson and Wilson. This was not an interview about treason...but a ploy to put Wilson on the defensive, as if somehow, HE was responsible for what Rove did. Disgusting, but typical of CNN.

I find it fascinating Rush continues to make the claim "They wanted to undermine Bush's Invasion of Iraq".
They obviously aren't reading the Polling on how a MAJORITY of Americans think the Invasion was a BAD IDEA.
Wilson stood up EARLY and said so! Went out on a limb to say so and was ATTACKED for being CORRECT...

"Whaddya mean we can't use the yellow-cake uranium sale intel? It's false!? Who said that? Wilson? He's one of our guys? Well, fiddlesticks. Let's just say the British think Iraq bought the yellow-cake from Niger - that way we can just say it was a mix up if I'm called on it.... Well, that's why they pay me the big bucks, hee hee. Julie --
It may be very important to note that the last email from David Kelly you mentioned was sent to:
JUDITH MILLER.
Kelly had given her plenty of help for one of the books she wrote on WMD. I have the impression he mistakenly thought of her as a friend.
Oddly, when she wrote up a story about him after his death, she never mentioned a word about being his "friend" --- and while she mentioned email he had sent to another reporter earlier in the week, she never said word one about herself having received that cryptic email on the day he died.
Miller finds herself in the thick of almost every dark scandal. My hunch is that she went to prison to cloak herself in the First Amendment --- in order to avoid pleading the Fifth Amendment.
I've always seen her as a co-conspirator. And she can't allow herself to sit for the grand jury, because if she does plead the Fifth, all Fitzgerald would have to do would be grant her immunity...and then she couldn't hide behind the Fifth amendment after all.

Some of the corporate-owned media journalists are starting to come around and act like real journalists. Even though they are coming around, let's not forget it's because they're more afraid of the left now than of the administration. They can see our white-hot rage and our determination has exceeded that of their critics on the right. They're fundamentally cowards and we should never be lulled into a false sense of security again. Destroy the corporate owned media! Destroy the corporations for that matter!

Rush is a big fat Nazi loving freak as are most of the neo-cons, but, what some of you are failing to either realize or are just refusing to look at the facts, most of the neo-liberals, the Clintons for one are Nazi loving freaks as well. If you want to see the whole picture then step a few feet further back and another long look. Yes, there is very little difference. The neo-cons and the neo-liberals both want to take our rights, what rights we have left, and more. Its not a conspiracy theory it is a conspiracy! The Zionists that control this country have no partiality whether its republican or democrat as long as the out come is the same, world domination. May this Rove conspiracy wake many more up to the bigger picture.

I'm with Ms. K8 and Steve J. But I take their speculation one step further. What if Judith "I'm an ethical journalist and willing to go to jail to safeguard my ethics and sources" was really Bob Novak's "non-partisan" source that had allegedly spoken to him regarding Valerie Wilson and her alleged involvement with the decision to send Joseph Wilson to Niger. See the article in the NYT today that provides cover to the neoCONS by spinning Novak having first talked with a non-partisan source who confirmed Valerie Wilson/Plame's alleged involvement, and her role at the CIA. Then, supposedly he spoke with Rove who asked "You know about that? (quotations meant figuratively, as I do not recall verbatim the substance of the quote attributed to Rove when speaking to Novak, but close enough".
I just bet that the MSM's sweetheart du jour, Judith Miller (she who fought the evil Special Prosecutor to make America safe for journalists and anonymous sources), is in this up to her beady little eyeballs, and has run for cover under the blanket of journalistic standards and ethics, when indeed, she is doing nothing more than a fancy two-step dance to avoid having to publicly admit that she is really asserting her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

"Right" for a model hypocrite, along with his buddies at Fox News.
"Right" for drinking the Bush administration Kool-Aid (and foaming at the mouth afterwards).
"Right" for misleading otherwise good people who plain just don't know any better.
"Right" for a jail cell, when his OWN investigation concludes.
...and...
"PERFECTLY RIGHT" to defend a man who is a TRAITOR to the United States of America, to her national security, to her military members serving in wartime in Afghanistan and Iraq, and to all her people at home.
I would say "birds of a feather flock together" but birds are a beautiful species, and that has NOTHING to do with these right-wingnut, egotistical, blowhard, traitorous, TREASONOUS monstrosities that pollute our airwaves and occupy our government.

What violations of national security occurred while Monica was on her knees? And yet you would have thought that Slick Willie had sold our nuclear launch codes to the Chinese from the way these so-called journalists on the ultra-right acted! What a bunch of transparent, mentally challenged hypocrites! And for any of those on the far right, your 15 minutes of fame and moment in the sun are up. Continuing to try and prop up a failed and possibly criminal administration only shows how desperate and moronic these hacks (Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly and Coulter) really are. GIF, #42--- you may be on to something. Novak had two sources, one that fed him the info on Plame, and another that confirmed. Rove was the one who confirmed (although he tries to spin it so that he just commented, "oh, yeah, I heard that, too.") Do you suppose Miller actually GOT the info from Rove, passed it to Novak, and SUGGESTED that he confirm it with Rove? Tricky way for Rove to cover his tracks--his modus operandi. And that does explain perfectly why Miller's in prison now; if she talks it's the death knell for Rove.
I still think that the plot was hatched in the Oval Office, however, and leads back to Bush/Cheney. Even if Rove initiated the leak, there were conversations at highest levels that preceded it. SOMEBODY ordered the search for damaging info on Wilson. It didn't just happen.

Ask yourselves one question, and the whole issue of Rove/Plame becomes much clearer.
"What legitimate reason would Karl Rove, a political adviser to George W. Bush, have for soliciting (or being given) information about the identity of an undercover C.I.A. operative?"
There is no innocent reason for Rove, who at the time had no role in policy making, to have been the least bit concerned about Valerie Plame one way or the other, and no reason for Judith Miller, Robert Novak, Matt Cooper or any other journalist to have either offered information to Rove about Valerie Plame or to have received the same from him.
The fact that Rove, a political adviser to Bush, was involved at all (even if his role was only to confirm her identity to Novak), can mean one thing only. THE IDENTITY OF VALERIE PLAME AS A C.I.A. OPERATIVE, A MATTER THAT MUST ALWAYS BE DIVORCED FROM POLITICS, WAS REVEALED IN A POLITICALLY MOTIVATED ACT. No other explanation is possible, and nothing more is needed to know that Rove must be fired.

After Rush came out of rehab I stopped calling his listeners Dittoheads. I think a more accurate description is Oxy-morons. I wonder how he gets his marching orders from Karl Rove every day? I bet he also has a government contract with Homeland security to educate the public on White House security issues.

You Rush are a total ass. All bought and paid for like everyone else. Why don't you put on a uniform over your fat behind and get over there and fight for someone else's freedom???
You "Talk a good war."

Ah, Rush is laughing all the way to the bank and you morons let a mouse run over your keyboard, hit the send button and think you've made a sensible argument. What must it be like to be in a continued minority status, losing election after election. Isn't the minority party suppose to pick up seats in off year elections? Why does the stupid Bush keep beating you at every turn? To loose seats in the House, Senate, governorships..and the White House is a pathetic showing. I thought you guys were going to whip the GOP's ass after Sore-Loserman in 2000. You didn't even have the courage to run that loser again, but selected Franken-lurch instead. Talk about a loser bench. What was it.. a 3.5 million vote whipping? And then that trifecta of Sharpton, Kucinich...and Dean the Scream. I'm still hearing the CNN loop of his Iowa debacle (but thanks for probbing up the ad community). It's getting a little boring winning all the time. C'mon guys...put up a fight. Perhaps Cindy's other son is willing to die for your cause. Someone has to be laid to rest.
