One thing I think we can all agree on is that the last 2-3 years have been really rough. (OK, it’s more like the last 5-6 years, but you get the gist of what I’m saying.) But it has prompted me on more than one occasion to long for some words of wisdom — or biting philosophical commentary from the late great comedian, social satirist George Carlin.
Sadly, we lost him in 2008, but his work has lived on. Somehow, Carlin seemed to know what was ahead of us, and his bits regularly trend on Twitter even now as people re-discover his prescient comedy.
George Carlin’s American Dream, a new two-part documentary directed by Judd Apatow, debuted on HBO last week. Carlin’s only child, KELLY CARLIN, joins me on the show today to talk about this very personal project and about her father, the voice of an era (actually, several), George Carlin.
