always loved the "freedom fries" crap. i notice McDonalds didnt change their menus....must hate america. i will say that my dad, a conservathug if there ever was one, didnt go for that freedom fries crap in his restaurant. he has to be an america hater. Though his wife did misspell chili on their menu....
i think the best story was when air force 1 changed french toast to freedom toast. The funny part is that french toast was named for some chef named french.

I just spoke to Whitley in Walter Jones' office and sent her the following link in the hope that the congressman might be further turned off by how things might really have been started.
Whitley,
Here is the link. Please see it asap. I would appreciate a reply with your reaction.

I'm really reluctant to give any praise to Jones or anyone like him for his change of heart. It is because of people like him, and that includes many democrats, that Bush had such a green light on the war. IMO, anyone with half a brain could see that Bush was full of shit when he was trying to brainwash the country into war, and the freedom fries thing is just malicious and ignorant, especially to say that the idea came from the "Lord". Give me a fuckin break. There are nearly 1650 dead American heros because of these people. There are countless thousands and thousands of innocent Iraqi Mothers, Fathers, and children dead because of these people. They will not be welcomed by me. Fuck em.

I can't argue with anything you say in comment #6. On the other hand, if we are going to move forward, we have to accept that people can have a change in heart and whatever their past sins, we should probably hold our noses and accept whatever help we can get from them in promoting causes as important as ending the death and destruction in Iraq and getting out of that quagmire.
Also, relevant to this topic, everyone should sign the Iraq Withdrawal Petition here.

Jones deserves credit for changing his mind about the war in Iraq. The kind of American chauvinism he showed originally isn't new, although admitting to it is.
In "The Lindbergh Syndrome" I point out that after World War I, when anti-German passion was at its height and when the second Gilded Age began, a dopey congressman tried to get sauerkraut renamed "liberty cabbage." He proved the adage that "Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel."
That was the same time in history when Americans of German ancestry were forced to change their names to make them sound less Germanic, and when the British royal family changed its crest from Hanover to Windsor for the same reason.

Philadelphia lawyer Phil Berg has a RICO lawsuit against President Bush, for compliance in the 9-11 attacks. He has taken a speaking entourage of experts and witnesses to Europe and Britain, thinking the European Press will pick up on this lawsuit, because the American press will not cover it. His speaking tour of experts in Europe is going on May 20 through June 4 (right now!). Not being covered by our MSM.

Brad,
been very sich and very busy. Will be steady now for some time to come.
On the change of heart thing its nice now that 1600 plus American kids are dead, thousands more wounded and maimed, god only knows how many more iraqis are dead and maimed, sending people to be tortured in Uzbekistan, etc etc. If there is a change of heart i would like to see some proof of it. Instead of lamenting the hoodwinking begin questioning what we know is going on now. When one of these people --and i agree with Super, too many dems went along for the ride-- starts talking about people being boiled alive in Uzbekistan maybe it will be time to pass along kudos.

Hi, Supersoling #6 & #7 - Let me troll with you. The dead cannot be resurrected. Let Jones stand face to face with the Iraqi relatives and friends of the dead and maimed and say "I'm sorry. I made a mistake. I was wrong." Let him stand face to face with the American relatives and friends of the dead and maimed young men and women and say "I'm sorry. I made a mistake. I was wrong." "Thousand died because I should have known that deliberately killing innocents to remove an evil dictator is wrong. Knowing that there will be innocent casualties is the same as deliberate murder when you know they will die. Not even one innocent should have been sacrificed in order to depose a dictator. I abandonned my obligations to the American people and to all humanity. Bombing the country should have been the LAST, LAST resort. No one had the right to do this. No one ...not me, Walter Jones...not even GOD-DAMMNED BUSH!!!"

Peggy,
you're being much to generous in using the term "mistake". We can go down the list of every claim they made --- from lying about what Saddam's son in law said when being interrogated by the CIA to the non-existent IAEA report to the forged documents --- and reasonable people knew before one of our kids crossed the border into Iraq that the case for war was built on lies. This war was deliberate and few in congress --- even though they had to know the truth --- had the fortitude to stand up to these punks.
i agree with your post but i think the word mistake is too easy for war criminals. And that is precisely what these people are.

Hi, Big Dan #17 - yes, I was writing a second post which got lost while I was trying to edit. This is excellent, excellent, excellent!
Hi, JohnHP - yes, I agree with you. Bush was an obviously poor choice, for President, being an obvious moron. Everyone who supported him and his warmongering, greedy, lying ways needs to admit their mistake, fix the remaining problem by REMOVING the Bush Administration, and then resign. The Senate and Congress failed in their duty and responsibility to the American people by handing over all decisions to the moron. Now, they are sorry. Well, it's too late. The damage is done. The only thing left for someone like Jones, who may have some remaining integrity, is to REMOVE the Bush Administration and resign.

Hi again, Big Dan - Maybe Phil Berg's goal is to get Bush and his greedy, empty pals tried in Europe for war crimes. That's what should be done. And then retribution paid PERSONALLY by Bush et al, to the Iraqi people and the American soldiers' families, and anyone else entitled. The American taxpayers are also victims of this diabolical fraud. The American people should not have to pay any further. It should come directly from the bank accounts of the likes of Bush, etc. Then, if any of the war criminals ever set foot abroad, they should be instantly arrested and incarcerated. When people like Delay, Frist and Feeney start screaming about it, add them as defendants and participants in the war crimes lawsuit. Maybe that will shut them up for a while! I pray for JUSTICE!

**George #5** Here'sthe latest from Griffin:
The 9/11 Commission Report: A 571-Page Lie
by Dr. David Ray Griffin
Sunday, May 22, 2005
In discussing my second 9/11 book, The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions, I have often said, only half in jest, that a better title might have been "a 571-page lie." (Actually, I was saying "a 567-page lie," because I was forgetting to count the four pages of the Preface.) In making this statement, one of my points has been that the entire Report is constructed in support of one big lie: that the official story about 9/11 is true.
Another point, however, is that in the process of telling this overall lie, The 9/11 Commission Report tells many lies about particular issues. This point is implied by my critique's subtitle, "Omissions and Distortions." It might be thought, to be sure, that of the two types of problems signaled by those two terms, only those designated "distortions" can be considered lies.
It is better, however, to understand the two terms as referring to two types of lies: implicit and explicit. We have an explicit lie when the Report claims that the core of each of the Twin Towers consisted of a hollow steel shaft or when it claims that Vice President Cheney did not give the shoot-down order until after 10:10 that morning. But we have an implicit lie when the Commission, in its discussion of the 19 alleged suicide hijackers, omits the fact that at least six of them have credibly been reported to be still alive, or when it fails to mention the fact that Building 7 of the World Trade Center collapsed. Such omissions are implicit lies partly because they show that the Commission did not honor its stated intention "to provide the fullest possible account of the events surrounding 9/11." They are also lies insofar as the Commission could avoid telling an explicit lie about the issue in question only by not mentioning it, which, I believe, was the case in at least most instances.
Given these two types of lies, it might be wondered how many lies are contained in The 9/11 Commission Report. I do not know. But, deciding to see how many lies I had discussed in my book, I found that I had identified over 100 of them. Once I had made the list, it occurred to me that others might find this summary helpful. Hence this article.
One caveat: Although in some of the cases it is obvious that the Commission has lied, in other cases I would say, as I make clear in the book, that it appears that the Commission has lied. However, in the interests of simply giving a brief listing of claims that I consider to be lies, I will ignore this distinction between obvious and probable lies, leaving it to readers, if they wish, to look up the discussion in The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions. For ease in doing this, I have parenthetically indicated the pages of the book on which the various issues are discussed.
Given this clarification, I now list the omissions and claims of The 9/11 Commission Report that I, in my critique of that report, portrayed as lies:
**more --- actually 115 omissions & claims**

I apologize for a posting out of context, but I am unable to contain myself. I just got the most ridiculous e-mail letter from Democrats.gov that appears to be a letter from Senator Harry Reid to Nancy Pelosi. It made me want to puke. I'll post it here, then my response. If this is the best we've got, I'm horrified!! I just posted this on ConyersBlog as well.
Subject: A Victory for Democracy
Dear Nancy,
The so-called "nuclear option" is off the table. This is a significant victory for Democrats but more importantly for our country, for democracy, and for all Americans. The integrity of future Supreme Courts has been protected from the undue influences of a vocal, radical faction of the right that is completely out of step with mainstream America.
While I do not support several of the judges that were agreed to, I am pleased that responsible Republicans and my Democratic colleagues were able to put aside their differences and worked to retain checks and balance-s and ensure all voices are heard in our democracy.
Congress is a separate and equal branch of government --- that is our founding fathers' vision, and one we hold dear. Democrats will never tolerate abuse of power and have worked hard to make sure George Bush and Dick Cheney know their attempt to trample the Constitution and grab absolute control is over.
This victory is yours too. I know many of you signed petitions, wrote and called your members of Congress, and wrote letters to the editor. In this battle, you made the difference.
Now Democrats will turn to work on the people's business. We need to protect retiree's pensions and long-term retirement security. We need to expand health care opportunities for all families. We need to address rising gasoline prices and energy independence. And we need to restore fiscal responsibility and rebuild our economy so that it lifts up all American workers. We need to ensure our troops have the resources they need to fight in Iraq and that Americans are free from terrorism. That is our reform agenda, the people's reform agenda. Together, we can get the job done.
Thank you,
Harry Reid
NOW MY RESPONSE:
Are you kidding me? You consider this a victory? All you guys ended up doing was capitulating...not sticking to your guns. The result is simply a delay...an agreement to go through the whole thing again later, while giving up on the judges you thought should be disqualified. Now Owen is in, and likely most of the others will get in as well.
By forcing Frist to go through with his deal..."if" he would have, you would have helped the republican party dig their own '06 graves, and they still would have gotten their judges in. Now they appear more reasonable, and more willing to work with the dems. I am a democrat, and proud of it...but I am ashamed of the party and their abject failure to hold their ground!
To both you and Ms. Pelosi (another mouth with no teeth), stop the bull...stop the dumb-speak...the spin makes me dizzy, not elated. Grow some testicles (metaphorically speaking), find someone with guile, determination, guts, and the where-with-all to stand-up and speak. Find a camera...follow Bush to whatever rock he slithers out from under...ask the hard questions...never mind the attempts to diminish your reason...ask more tough questions. When he is finally unable to answer because his vocabulary is so limited, then just maybe you will crack the fascade of imbecilic cherub charm.
Dr. Alan H. Levinson

Carry on, please Believe me, I share your anger and disgust. It is not now enough to say "I'm sorry". Anyone in a position of power who aided and abetted this mass war crime, should at the very least be compelled by guilt to rise up against this deviant animal Bush, and see to his removal from our house, and then yes, have the integrity to resign. Goddamn them. It is the least they can offer to those who have fallen as a result of thier cowardice.

This so called compromise did not last even one day, as if the republicans ever intended it to. I'm just asking the democrats, for the sake of the country, will you EVER stand up and fight without retreating? Do they not understand what is happening here? For the hundredth time. There is coup d'etat being waged against our country. Will you not fight? Even if you lose, is it not better to go to defeat defending to the last all that you believe in? Martin Luther King did not retreat. He died for his principles. God almighty, where can we find some people who will fight for their principles?

I agree with Dr. Levinson. And I would add, that the Democrats should begin to learn and speak the truth about 9/11 and Bush's additional treason with respect to lying about Iraq and the reasons for conducting war. The fact that the democratic representatives do not is telling. The only congressman facing at least som of these issues is Conyers. There is no excuse for denial and/or failing to confront Bush et. al. with respect to these issues. This is tantamount to treason as well. We Will see this situation change. More and more Americans are beginning to realize the truth. If only 'cricial mass' occurs in time.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember that Mr. (serious Democrat or so he says) Robert Pastor (on the National Election Reform Commission) stated (when asked by one of the Bradbloggers) that he'd never read Conyers' report.
How can it be that even one Democrat holding public office has not read Conyers' report? To me this is inexcusable. INEXCUSABLE and almost UNPARDONABLE. dammit.

Comment #23: Would be interested in Mr. Griffin's opinion of "The Brain" article in Playboy which basically names him as the so called terrorist brains behing the 9/11 attacks. The story examines DJ Grandmaster Brains's excuses for his actions. Of course the reasons given fit the crime like a pair of blood soaked OJ gloves. Bridge the gap of the Bushit "American Empire" masterplan and the people currently accused of 9/11 will give us a bigger picture. 1.) Is this another Bushit mindfck propaganda story? Probably. 2.) What facts or evidence if any can be use to start to tying in the Bushit Administration lying murderers? 3.) It is nice and wishful to think that the fcking robots in CONGRESS (which are the majority) would just repent and step down. However, these politicians are crooked fcking bastards. Those CONGRESSMEN responsible for accepting the rigged Presidential electoral votes, stepped aside to let those inbreds Dicky and Georgee march into Iraq, in addition to ratifying their "agenda" of rewritten laws against the American people MUST be held accountable. This includes the Bushit administration rolling back 400 environmental standards and laws. Destroying the last wildlands in the lower 48 where the last WILD ANIMALS like the GRIZZLY BEAR and the WOLF are barely surviving in the name of a breed of insensitive Fcking humans and their greed is an important issue to me.
