Keep it up, Brad! Now, for some MSM...
Criticism of the MSM is becoming de rigeur. Perhaps it will begin to gather its impugned dignity, swell its artificially-inflated chest, and start to do real reporting again. We can dream...

At the latest White House Press Briefing there were some old time real questions.
I thought for a moment that I was watching some ancient video ... but then W sneering at the reporter brought me back to realize it was actually happening now ...
Where is Gannon when you need him ... with another client?
The president went on to defend the practice of using taxpayer money to produce propaganda documentaries for widespread distribution ... so long as it was based on "fact".
One man's fact is another man's lie ... thus the obvious need to stay away from propaganda distribution ... even if "Torture Man" Gonzales over at the "justice" department says distributing propaganda, like torture, is ok.

Brad - great interview! I hope the link to it will be up over the weekend, would like to share it with my mom who's getting a faster computer & will finally be able to tune in.
I like the way you described the unfairness with the current mainstream idea that all reporting must remain "balanced" between left & right. It is a gimmick and a bunch of baloney (to quote you!)
Keep it up & watch your back!

This is off topic, (couldn't find an open thread, hint, hint ;O), but this is real good news, and we can sure use some of that can't we?
Today the Senate removed 15 billion $'s in Medicaid cuts from **sh's budget! With the help of six Republicans, Smith of Oregon, Chafee of Rhode Island, Coleman of Minnesota, Dewine of Ohio, Specter of Penn. and Snowe, Collins of Maine, with Independent Jeffords of Vermont.....the Democrats got a big win for one of **sh's biggest targets, the poor.
A possible great fringe benefit might be that todays results could make it harder for the Repollutercans to actually finalize the drilling of Anwr. I'm not sure how that works, will try to find links.
Here is the main story from CNN (sorry).
Peace

Another OT - investigation uncovers truth about what we've known all along.
Secret US Plans for Iraq's Oil
To those of you outside the US - we're pushing from within, but we need pressure from without too. We have to get these folks out of office before they do any more damage!
And - don't forget everybody, peace rallies THIS WEEKEND, ALL OVER THE WORLD, on the second anniversary of the invasion of Iraq.

Another OT. It looks like Americans now have to make a decision. Take heart folks. It is happening very slowly and in the meantime much damage is being done, but the truth is coming.

Wolfowitz promoted for compromising Plame.
Cheney is big on Energy issues, the Dept. of Energy had Cabinet level input for Intelligence on the Office if Intelligence (IN).
"The Office of Intelligence (IN) provides the Secretary, his staff and other policymakers within the Department timely, technical intelligence analyses on all aspects of foreign nuclear weapons, nuclear materials and energy issues worldwide."
Policy & International Affairs
"The Office of Policy and International Affairs' role is to deliver unbiased advice to the Department of Energy's leadership on existing and prospective energy-related policies, based on integrated and well-founded data and analysis."
"The Office of Policy and International Affairs has primary responsibility for the Department of Energy's international energy activities including international emergency management, national security, and international cooperation in science and technology."
The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) has the following mission:
To enhance United States national security through the military application of nuclear energy.
To maintain and enhance the safety, reliability, and performance of the United States nuclear weapons stockpile, including the ability to design, produce, and test, in order to meet national security requirements.
To provide the United States Navy with safe, militarily effective nuclear propulsion plants and to ensure the safe and reliable operation of those plants.
To promote international nuclear safety and nonproliferation.
To reduce global danger from weapons of mass destruction."
The Associate Administrator for Facilities and Operations provides program organizations with science and production facilities ready and available to perform NNSA's core missions.
Facilities and Operations is responsible for establishing and directing, through the field elements, an overarching field operations framework that includes five major functions:
support for operations, resource management, human capital, enterprise management, and contractor performance evaluation;
advocacy, policy development, management oversight, and resource management for those infrastructure and facilities mutually agreed upon with the programs to be the responsibility of F&O;
advocacy, policy development, and management oversight of environmental, safety, and health programs;
project and construction management;
and safeguards and security
Management and Administration customers include executives, managers, and employees across all units of the NNSA complex. Its core functions are the following:Provide NNSA corporate systems and policies to manage NNSA's human resources
Provide general administrative services and logistical support for NNSA
Changes in Structure and Staffing - Management and Administration will comprise the following six offices: (1) Office of Human Resources; (2) Office of the Chief Information Officer; (3) Office of Procurement and Assistance Management; (4) Office of Administrative Services; (5) Office of Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Evaluation; and (6) Diversity Programs. M&A will consolidate administrative functions performed by both DP and NN, as well as manage several additional functions (such as personnel and procurement)
Functions - The CIO will define the information and information technology architecture and related needs of all offices within NNSA headquarters, field elements, and Management and Operating (M&O) contractors. Customers include the Administrator, senior managers, field offices, and program and support components
throughout its life cycle in support of mission accomplishment and accountability
Operations, Engineering, and Customer Service - Provides advice and technical support to the Office of Administrative Services to ensure delivery of vital information management and information technology services in support of NNSA enterprise requirement
The Director of Central Intelligence (DCI) leads the Intelligence
Community. He serves as the President’s principal advisor for intelligence
matters related to national security. He is assisted by the Deputy DCI
for Community Management (DDCI/CM), the National Intelligence Council
(NIC), the Associate DCI for Military Support (ADCI/MS), and the National
Counterintelligence Executive (NCIX).
"Mr. President, you will never find a more dedicated, hardworking,
patriotic, decent group of Americans... Everyday, they perform their
mission, selflessly and silently, so that their fellow Americans may continue
to live in freedom and safety."
George J. Tenet, former Director of Central Intelligence
The DCI coordinates intelligence matters related to the Department of
Defense (DoD) with the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence - the
USD(I). This individual serves as the Principal Staff Assistant and
advisor to the Secretary of Defense and the Deputy Secretary of Defense on
all intelligence, counterintelligence and security, and other
intelligence-related matters. The USD(I) provides oversight and policy guidance
for all DoD intelligence activities.
In summation:
The Office of Intelligence(IN) and the Nat Nuke Safety Admin (NNSA) have input in the Energy Dep't to help coalesce Cabinet level decisions.
Associate Admin for Facilities and Operations has direct field authority for operations support, resource management, human capital, contractors, project management, safety and security.
Management and Administration oversee all complex employees, provide corporate systems to manage(them). Also logistical support. Additionally-personnel and procurement.
CIO defines information for HQ, filed elements,Management &Operations contracotrs, includes filed offices. .. "throughout its life cycle in support of its mission...to deliver vital information"...in support of NNSA enterprise.
Director of Central intel(DCI) leads the INTEL Community. he is the POSTUS' principal advisor for INTEL and Nat'l security, assisted by the Deputy(DDCI),Nat'l Intel Council (NIC), National Intel Executive(NCIX).
The Dep. of Energy hijacked the Intelligence, keeping the pre-911 focus on "rogue states " and WMD ignoring warnings. Then in their ramp-up to war they stifled any legitimately effective nonproliferation in the same fields with several of the key "axis of evil" nations.
This cabinet level coup included the ability to stage/deploy and manipulate agents in the field in nuclear information. Policy and affairs is an 'international co-op' to coordinate.
This via the NNSA field offices under the Associate Administrator overseeing production. The CIO(stovepipe) at the same level defined all terms and reports to the DCI as well. Management and Administraion under NNSA established the field work for human resources(Plame), Facilities and Operations oversaw Security and support in same NNSA capacity.
The NNSA, under the Department of Energy, reporting to the DCI via the CIO. There is so much shared authority in the terms as a whole this entire branch of the Energy Department should be imprisoned.
It was key to the Plame leak- leak so may at the lower levels that the top cannot get fully traced. For the Plame leak to get out to the field when the person to verify was "not stationed" means the CIO skipped procedure (offense) and the Associate Administrator misplaced manpower (same).
This with Policy Affairs of the NNSA also working with others (ie-Niger). So in effect three seperate NNSA legs each commiteed offense, the heart of such problems lies with top-down leadership.
These DCI efforts combine with the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence USD(I) to form DoD policy.
There were massive leaks- the energy industry is a major advertisor on major media and by making the 5 or 6 leaks (reported) knownit would make a trail that prevented prompt action to stifle the plan and saturate the message at the same time.
Look for people Robert Novak had any interviews with who fit this capacity, especially the Dep't of Energy. Regardless the DoE is amajor mover and shaker in the INTEL assessments.

sorry for typos, long post, and not relevant to the topic of your interview brad.
There is a meeting scheduled in niger/nigeria next month. My IP is scrubbed from public domain of the site I accessed earlier, it's out on blogs (atrios haloscan).
Bremer is outsourcing medical supplies. Think medicare scam , only the patient is soliders, and the doctors are outsourced.
That is what we may well face in this terrible war run up.
The hubris mark- another Nuke conference where they started the yellowcake myth- will probably stage a false flag for Iran. They 've already leaked out stories about missing nukes from Russia and are targeting iran. China will go along, and then say there was a mistake in paperwork from the russians and they purchased the missing bulk in full as a fallback.
This time others are in on the lie (think- Arthur Andersen). Tony Blair is gone fromt his poicture that we can see, unless the BBC linked the story first...
We need bread and shiavo circuses in the meantime.
The CNN transcripts of novak are scrubbed, anyone know elsewhere these can be found? We need Dep't of Energy or energy frim lobbyists whom Novak interviewed on the Plame timeline about the time of the Porter Goss interview which also compromoised INTEL.

Think- Iran lie with other coutnries in on it, CHina who already owns us... then we do massive draft, so many troops deployed in hopes of winning iran before the 2 year mark that a wave of green troops suffers score casualties and gets outsourced tratment that further breaks the SS trust...
And the entire time they push this abominable domestic policy on us...

I'm sending thank you and good wishes to everyone on this website. The rally in Fayetteville last Sat. was wonderful. My first, at aged 62. I'm very sorry I yelled Pussies to the 20 or so cops holding a young man's face in the dirt. The cops seemed to be listening to the speakers and ignored me....I"m grateful for that. Since I believe in peaceful protest ..respect Ghandi Jesus and quite a few other self contained leaders...my feelings are mixed. Could not bring myself to apologize to the cops...wish I hadn't done it..didn't help the movement
