Brad on ‘ABC News Now’! NOW!

Share article:

…Yes, almost literally NOW! Airtime is 12:30pm PT (3:30pm ET).

Discussing the Apple lawsuit (referenced in the previous article about the NY Times story on same) live on TV air. See previous item. No time to give details since they need me at the studio in an hour! To watch ABC News Now live on the net, I’m told you can go to ABCNews.com and click on “ABC News Now”.

They also air, I believe in some cable markets, but no time to help with that.

Also…a quick teaser…more news coming either later today or in the morning on new developments in the Clint Curtis story!

UPDATE: 1:54pm Well, we believe that went well. Was nice to sit in ABC’s LA Bureau anchor chair…and talk about how the mainstream media isn’t doing their job 🙂

More quick media points (and boy, we would love to get back to blogging instead of talking, but I guess this is necessary to help get all of these stories out there)…Just finished up a live UCLARadio.com on VR’s “Divestiture for Democracy”, which came in just as I walked in the door, so no time to let you know.

And about to do another one on VR’s DV4D at 2:15pm PT for Pacifica network’s national “Peacewatch” radio program with Verna Avery-Brown. (Just told it doesn’t air live…so more info on airtime later).

As we’ve always told you…go make some noise. I guess we seem to be making a bit ourselves. That’s gotta be good, right? Don’t worry, we’ll get to the promised Clint Curtis story developement soon!

Knock ’em dead, Brad! We’re burning with curiosity, but disturbing the universe and the stinking status quo is surely Mission Priority.

Any chance of a link to the video of Brad on ABC News? I turned on ABC at 3:30 and, at least in my geography, a "soap" was on.

I wasn’t able to tape it, George. But if someone else was able to do so, or rip it from the net, I’ll try to get it up.

Otherwise, lemme see if I can get a copy somehow.

ABC News reduced to interviewing YOU? Good grief. I knew they were destitute, but THAT destitute?

Would somebody care to zap Frankenbush’s positive and negative terminals. He’s almost got it. The truth of mainstream media. He just need a tiny nudge.

Well, maybe ABC News has finally realized GWB is a lying, boring fraud. It’s time they got on to some topics that are vitally important to America. I’m proud to support your blog, Brad. You are obviously doing things right. We all support you here. #7 obviously loves posting at Brad Blog. He admits the MSM has been lame lately. He’s going to be really surprised as America starts to make its turn in the "truly right" direction, 180 degrees away from the where the neocons now stand.

I love blogs but… I need all you Brad Bloggers to do something. Even our Canadian brothers and sisters, and other foreign fans can help by informing their friends stuck behind the "private curtain". That’s us in the US. (damn, that’s good! take it and run with it!)

What’s next, indentured servitude and debtor’s prisons? Please. I’m asking nicely. I only do that when I am being serious. I am being serious. This is serious. From the irrepressible man on fire, Digby.

    Do What You Can

Democrats.com has a nice form to e-mail your Senators to filibuster the bankruptcy bill. They are scheduled to vote tomorrow. This is a seriously egregious bill that no Democrat (Joe Biden) should back under any circumstances, but it looks like it will pass this time unless somebody filibusters.

The most amazing thing about this is that while they are drastically reducing the ability of people to get a fresh start and seize more of their assets, they are also going to allow the credit card companies to charge usury rates to these very same people. It’s like something out of Dickens.

Click here if you have a few minutes, or make a call if you have more than a few minutes and make your wishes known.

Update: Julia at Sisyphus Shrugged pointed me to No More Mr Nice Blog’s interesting insight into Charles "Let ‘Em Eat Pancakes" Grassley’s view toward Christian charity:

    Brad – re: update

Ah, the life of a celebrity.

That’s okay Brad, we’ll hold down the fort. Just feed us information when you can, just enough to keep the synapses firing – Lord knows we’d starve if we didn’t have this place.

Someday we’ll be saying, "I posted on his blog back when only a handful of people even knew who he was, and now look at him!"

Um…ya know, Oprah gives out stuff like cars and trips to her fans *hint hint* Someplace warm, please..it’s blowing light snow here in Tennessee.

    Per Dredd’s #11

I’m not so sure why having bloggers become part of the MSM group of whores is somehow good for the effort. Maybe if Brad’s dad worked for the AP he could get a pass too.

re: bankruptcy bill and liberal lies:

    http://www.nationalreview.com/c...0502110735.asp

    And I quote:

The fundamental problem is that it isn’t true. Despite what the authors have encouraged us to believe, the Harvard study, entitled "Illness and Injuries As Contributors to Bankruptcy," isn’t really about medical bills, crushing or otherwise. It’s about bankruptcies that can — at least if you’re willing to stretch things a bit — be classified as medically related. It finds that 54.5 percent of all bankruptcies have "a medical cause." But "medical cause" is used as a term of art here. In fact, the study does not claim that injury or illness was the primary cause of those bankruptcies. And, perhaps more importantly, it does not claim that the bankruptcies were caused by the crush of medical bills.
For example, the study classifies "uncontrolled gambling," "drug addiction," "alcohol addiction," and the birth or adoption of a child as "a medical cause," regardless of whether medical bills are involved. Yes, there may be situations in which a researcher might legitimately want to classify those conditions as "medical," but a study that is being used to prove that Americans are going bankrupt as a result of crushing medical bills is not one of them. A father who has gambled away his family’s mortgage payment is not likely the victim of crushing medical bills. Similarly, new parents who find they can no longer afford their previous lifestyle now that one of them has to stay home with the baby will usually find the obstetrician’s bill the least of their problems. Babies are a financial hardship even when hospitals give them away free.

Maybe that’s why only 28.3 percent of the surveyed debtors themselves agreed with the authors that their bankruptcy was substantially caused by "illness or injury." The rest put the blame elsewhere, even when the study labeled their problems as at least in part "medical."

Buried in the study is the fact that only 27 percent of the surveyed debtors had unreimbursed medical expenses exceeding $1,000 over the course of the two years prior to their bankruptcy. Presumably 73 percent — the vast majority — had medical expenses during that two-year period of $1,000 or less. Had that figure been recited up front, it would have been obvious that the proportion of bankruptcies driven by unmanageable medical debt was nowhere near half.

SO YOU LIBERALS HAVE BEEN LYING AGAIN FOR MONTHS THAT 50% OF BANKRUPTCIES ARE BECAUSE OF MEDICAL COSTS! SHAME!
