This is the lowest blow you have ever made. This man gave up the fame and money for his country. He volunteered. He would do it all over again. You are using his death for your own personal political agenda.

It's interesting to note your take on the posting of this photo, Paul, which has no written caption or comment whatsoever.
I found it a sad, touching photo, and would like to think Brad would realize that. You found it a low blow, and an abuse of personal responsibility for political gain.
Perhaps we see in things what we need to see in things. Your assumption that everyone would take the low road is, well, sad and touching.

I know Brad. If he really had respect for life, he would be against the legal killing of millions of innocent unborn babies (women, blacks, Jews) since 1973.
But, he is more concerned about the 700 who have died who actually volunteered. He thinks by putting out a face (or back) of one of them, somehow brings it all home. Somehow we are supposed to change our minds and pull out of Iraq. What other reason would he do it for?

paul, you appear to have a hair-trigger when it comes to accusations of partisanship.
YOU have taken the low road, by the way, in refusing to believe that someone who does not share your political views could possibly have any motivation other than self-promotion or propaganda.
perhaps you ought to stop for a moment to examine your own behavior, and your own contribution to our incredibly polarized society.
if we cannot agree on anything, even an appropriate memorial of a fallen soldier who puts a human face on our grief as a nation --- an entirely appropriate grief, i might add --- then there is little hope for us as a nation.
common ground. i suggest we all learn to find it, and leave the inappropriate attack machine to the professionals.

If this was a memoriam, I apologize. I would have liked to see a pic of him in his military uniform instead of as a footbal player. He died in Afghanistan, and that is where 911 originated. Even Brad would agree to that.
Tillman has, however, became a lightening rod for cartoons, articles, and websites that somehow indicate that he was duped by giving up football to fight for our country.

Um...15 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia (our ally still). Al-Qaeda is based in Pakistan (our ally still).
Just to correct your misleading comment about "where 911 originated".
I'll stay out of the "in memorium" debate. I believe the photo speaks for itself.
Out of curiosity though, since you mentioned you'd have preferred to see him in his military uniform, I'll assume then, you supported the Nightline piece showing all of our servicemembers (720+ at the time, most in their uniforms) who were killed fighting the War in Iraq?

I have changed my mind - we need to pull out.
Every day there are news reports about more deaths. Every night on the TV are photos of death and destruction.
Why are we still there?
We occupied this land, which we had to take by force, but it causes us nothing but trouble.
Why are we still there?
Their government is unstable, and they have no leadership.
Why are we still there?
There are more than 1000 religious sects, which we don't understand.
Why are we still there?
We can't even secure the borders.
Why are we still there?
They are billions of dollars in debt and it will cost billions more to rebuild, which we can't afford.
Why are we still there?
It is becoming clear...
We must pull out of California.
