Okay, one last thing...how come we can give telecoms retroactive immunity, but we aren't retroactively taxing wall street on the trillions of dollars they made on their unregulated greed?

Look Who's Guarding the Hen House
It's Bradblog fave Hans von Spakovsky!
Looking back over the year-moment-century, he's an example of both the salmonellosis and the policy of shipping the peanut paste anyway.
Trying to sicken us even more he's all worked that Hilda Solis might have broken soft money rules.
They don't quit. It's a kind of 21st century giganticism --- hypocrisy experiences runaway growth as things heat up. Rush, Hans, Kentucky Mitch... I rest my case.
Kudos to Brad and the BBlog community for hanging-in through it all.

Bring your strongest-powered drugstore cheaters to the supermarket and start reading the labels of everything in the isles. There is barely a food product sold that does not have SUGAR in one form or another in it. This is bound to beat people's pancreases to shit. I'm not kidding. Frozen vegetables! It's hard to find any that only added salt and harder still to find some that are just plain frozen vegetables. Canned goods, EVEN string beans. Bread. Crackers. Soup. Cheese spreads. Lunch meats. All these smoothies and energy drinks... stuff that's supposed to be healthy.
Next they're going to be injecting it into produce before they set it out in the produce department, and I wonder if that chemical they use on red meat to make it look red instead of brown in the meat section contains sugar? I know all the smoked products have it. And WTF do they feed all those bazillion factory chickens with? Sugar-laden crap.
You have to work like a slave to negotiate for yourself a diet that is not poisonous, and like ten slaves to get one that is nutritious.
They are trying to kill us.
[Well, and, I should mention, the poorer you are, the less able you are to buy nontoxic food. The chemicals and sugars and sodium they pump into the foods poor people can manage are so fattening and unhealthy that pretty soon the term "fat cat" is going to mean "poor destitute schlub" instead of "rich greedy bastard".]

I totally agree 99 about the sugar. I try to grow as much of our own food as I can, then freeze pickle or can it. I'm also lucky to have organic growers including amish farmers markets and coops around. But still, I know others who have the willies too about the high value pancreatic victims. Jus sayin, with zillions of dollars at stake and past human behavior like blow your face off's...well you know.

Ethylene glycol is used by most frozen food freezer lines.
