If you’ve missed the latest buzz, the wingnuts, having gone frame-by-frame over last week’s debate searching for Bush’s credibility, have now decided that Kerry cheated by pulling “something that appears to be white and appears to have a straight edge” from his pocket at the top of the debate in violation of the agreed upon debate rules.
Never mind that Dubya was the only one to clearly break the rules the other night (by talking directly to Kerry), but now thanks to Yelladog who seems to have been able to use some advance technology to zoom in with great detail on the video, the mystery is now over about what Kerry actually pulled out of his pocket.

they’re treating this "kerry pulling something out of his pocket" card as if it were some magic potion that rendered bush hapless to kerry’s debating skillz. kerry handed bush his ass, people. clear and simple.
Although this was funny , I really do wonder what he did pull out of his jacket. Do we know what it is?
I can’t really see anything when I watch the re-run.
Although you’re all right (what could he possibly have written down that would have changed the outcome? Bush is a knob -with our without cue cards), I do wonder why he’d deliberately disobey the rules. It’s not like he couldn’t have memorized what he’d written on a couple of cards…
Still though – it’s innocent until proven guilty for me. And I have yet to see ACTUAL proof. Also, did Bush NEVER reach into any of his pockets? Do we know this for a fact too?
Some are swearing that Bush unfolds a piece of paper and places it on top of the podium during that same instance. I’ve reviewed the tape several times, and don’t really see it. I think he’s opening a pen. But there seems to be about as much proof that Bush used cheat sheets as Kerry did.
What we do know is that Bush violated the (silly) rules because he talked directly to Kerry on several occassions.
Either way, the whole thing is silly, and the sign of a desperate Republican party at this point.
I agree.
If he cheated, then it’s not right. HOWEVER – the more I think about it, the more I think no piece of paper could have been responsible for the uhs, the ahs, the duhs, the dahs, and the rest of the stupidities he uttered during that debate.
It was obviously some skull and bones glyph that, once seen by Bush, rendered the man inarticulate. Rumor is the same glyph is tattooed on the inside of Bush’s eyelids….
