There is civil war at the Department of Justice Just Us and in the White What House. They could not bring enough pressure to bear on Walton to "let my people go", and so Libby is off to danger land where he may find some enemies.

I say there is a civil war because two years ago they could have gotten to Walton. The times they are a changin and the House of Cards is going down.

Bush will come under an unpresidented amount of pressure to pardon "one of us" and if he does not the nut-base will go ballistic. The neoCons in congress will have a nervous breakdown.

When I heard Peter Kirsanow refer to Mark "Thor" Hearne's evidence of voter fraud, I wrote a series of comments in that TPM Muckraker post about the validity of Hearne's so-called evidence.

Yesterday, I posted a blog entry about the case of the "union goons" in Philadelphia on Election Day in 2004 at the TPM Cafe (link above). In it, I demonstrated that the junior GOP operative who claimed he and his colleague were attacked by an all-white mob of roughly 10 large white union goons was lying.

Hearne included the police reports about the so-called attacks as part of the exhibits to the 8/05 ACVR report and he did not redact the names of two of the so-called unon goons, Bernard A. Griggs, a black man, and Fred Cosenza. So much for the all-white mob.

I suspect that Hearne submitted the story about Griggs and Cosenza violently attacking the GOP to
Congress without ever asking Griggs and Cosenza about their side of the story.

Brad, I caught the guy's reference to Mark Hearne, and I heard his attempt to elevate "voter fraud" to the heinousness of "vote suppression." He quoted some pretty audacious numbers; thousands of votes bought, voting in multiple jurisdictions, etc., all of which came from some statistic mill, and all of which could sway listeners, even poorly informed Senators. Do we have any indication about how this guy's testimony was received, or whether the Senators asked him any searching questions?

Do these reports reflect Mr. Kirsanow knowledge of commission work or not. It does not sound like it from his Hearne rehash!
