Bill Cosby’s lawyers claim that attorney Gloria Allred just wants the spotlight and is making racist attacks. And a CNN presidential election poll appears to have completely excluded millennials!

Can someone explain to me how oil companies and their thugs are allowed on Indian Land in the first place?
Aren’t they a sovereign nation?
Can’t they simply put up a no trespassing sign and saying all trespassers will be shot and then proceed to do so?
Or is this some “emanate domain” crap? Which still should not affect them since technically they are NOT the United States.
Sure. The pipeline doesn’t actually go through land officially owned by the Standing Rock Sioux. It goes through federal and/or privately-owned land. However, the river it crosses supplies drinking water to the Sioux Reservation, and the privately-owned land may have previously been owned by the tribe, since it appears to contain sacred burial grounds.
Not enough time to explain how tribal lands ended up in private hands, but that is also part of this entire fine mess.
