Cannot vouch for the reality of this photo sequence, but it certainly is amusing! And a fine reminder that no matter how bad things seem now, they could always be worse (which may, or may not, be comforting to you depending on whether you happen to be a glass half-full or half-empty person).
Just a quick personal note to beg your indulgence during the less-than-usual blogging I have been able to do on BRAD BLOG of late due to necessary work getting the Velvet Revolution under way.
There is much to get done — and in fact getting done — behind the scenes, both on the website itself and concerning policy matters and organization. As usual, everything takes more time than I would hope, and revolutions are no exception.
So, I beg your indulgence in the meantime if I am taken away from BRAD BLOG a bit more than I would like for the moment. If that’s the case, I hope it won’t be for long as we are quickly gathering resources and folks are jumping in to handle much of the work that there are still only a few of us handling at the moment.
I trust you will understand it is for a good cause.
To that end, my apologies to those still awaiting Email or Comment replies from me. I’m doing the best I can to climb the mountain. As usual, I will attempt to get to everything, and please forgive if I am unable to answer in a timely matter (or occassionally at all!)
For those who have asked, yes the Clint Curtis investigation continues, and there should be much to report on in that regard in the near future. The events of the last week or two have taken much of my time for the moment, but not my focus. There will be more…much more hopefully…to report on the matter coming up! So continue to stay tuned!…
(BTW, I have been invited to interview Curtis on-stage in a Live Event currently being scheduled to close the Freedom Cinema Festival which takes place in Park City, Utah during this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The FCF is a BRAD BLOG advertiser! So please click their ad on the left to check ’em out!
Their “Clint Curtis/Brad Friedman” event is currently scheduled to take place on Saturday, Jan. 29th, and I am hoping to be able to get there for it, but still working out a few details. If you are near the area, or planning to go to Sundance this year, please be sure and stop by! It will be the first time Curtis and I will have met in person, and I’d be thrilled to say hello to many of you guys there as well! I’ll make an announcement in a separate item when I can confirm for certain that I will be able to make it…Which will, of course, keep me away from BRAD BLOG even more in the process!… But again, hopefully you will understand…)

The pics are real except for the last one. Compare the last pic to the 5th pic and you will see that several people are in the same place. Also notice that the white boat next to the red one has magically re-appeared. Cmon, Brad you’re better than this.
Brad,
I am more than happy to offer my assitance. I am particularly talented at research and on the phone. My time remains busy, but is extremely flexible. I support your work 100% and would be honored to help in any way that I can. If you lived nearby, I’d be bringing you warm, home-cooked meals. Alas, you are clear across the US from me, and my parmesan chicken with capers (my children’s favorite) just wouldn’t be the same via Fed Ex. Let me know if there is anything I can do. Otherwise, no need to answer my messages, no hard feelings here.
In full support,
Susan E.
Kinda looks like the Ohio election – one disaster after another.
Comment #1 is correct. The last photo is an obvious fake! Discovered it only after emailing the link to a dozen friends… OOPS, time for a retraction! :hehe:

…Ah, the thing that I could probably use these days more than anything! 🙂
The thoughtful gesture will have to suffice. But we’ll take it! 🙂
As to your offer of assistance, thank you! If you haven’t already, please jump in over at VR. As things are coming together some folks have emerged to take on various leadership roles, etc.
Much more of that to come, so you may be sorry that I may just take you up on that offer in the not-too-distant future (unfortunately, short the parmesan chicken with capers! 🙁
When I said that VR is people-powered and a citizens brigade, I meant it!
Brad,
they are absolutely right. I have seen the photo sequence a few times before and the last one did not appear there. Comment one mentions the white boat, and that is a real giveaway.
By the way, on the Internet the sequence is often quoted as being from Belgium. But the coast line is far too hilly for Belgium. The number plates on the cars suggest Ireland.
Congratulations on your blog by the way. I tried to vote for you and hope I actually did.
Regarding Curtis: Supposedly he was on Capitol Hill on Jan. 6, meeting with Conyers and other Democrats. Nothing came out about what he had to say or what the reaction was. He had to have been there for a reason.
When you meet Curtis on Jan. 29, Brad, I hope we’ll learn whether his affidavit is being taken seriously in Washington or not. Feeney is a Congressman, albeit he wasn’t in 2000, the period covered by Curtis’ allegations. Is Feeney not subject to Congressional ethics scrutiny regardless?
I don’t see the last one as a fake. The white boat never shows up before the last photo, so I don’t understand the "reappears" remark in the first comment. Can anyone give me something more substantial?

Oops, I guess I’m retarded. Somehow missed the first couple of photos in my browser. I see it now.
Sorry ’bout that.

A total fake – the last picture!
You can find this photo series at SNOPES.

It takes place in Ireland at Roundstone Pier, Conemmara, Galway, around September 2004.
Thanks Brad for giving us all a much needed LOL.
hilarious sequence! yeah, the last photo is a fake, i’m sure — if you look closely at the 3rd tow truck, it has braces buttressing both sides to stabilize it from such offballance loads. those braces are still attached in their original positions, and they would have prevented the biggest truck from *tilting* into the water.
but it’s well-done and funny nonetheless. made ya look…!
Thnks for pointing out the fake. My husband and I studied it the other night and also concluded the last one was fake.
Makes you wonder just how much of everything you see and read and hear is fake.
The photo sequence is definatley from Ireland, I can see one of our little day-glo coppers lurking in pics 6 & 7. The last image is also totally photoshopped!
