Yes, polls are polls. But the numbers displayed in the graphic at left are startlingly one-sided, so perhaps worth taking note of.
(Please note, the exact same poll also shows Bush and Kerry tied up (within the margin of error) in the direct face-off question. So the usual “CBS and NY Times run a biased poll!” nonsense won’t do much good in regards to this rather stunning and rare point of virtual unanimous agreement amongst Americans.)

I find it reassuring that there is some understanding in the US about their image abroad, and particularly in the ‘Arab world’. I was beginning to wonder if anyone really cared.
Being nosy I had to look at your cv, and I’m sure you’ve heard this before, but you do bear a striking resemblance to AA Gill (Writer/Broadcaster-Sunday Times/BBC).
I too was wondering. Which is why the poll struck me. Though I still don’t have much confidence that the US populace yet "gets it" as a whole. Otherwise, I can’t imagine there would be *any* support left for Dubya at this point.
Haven’t heard the AA Gill comment before! I’ll have to try and find him on the web! Not even sure what he looks like (if you have any links to point me to, please do!).
Either way, thanks for stoppin’ by MM! Glad to know folks on the other side of the pond are keeping up with the American Follies!
