A significant chunk of Louisiana Republicans evidently believe that President Barack Obama is to blame for the poor response to the hurricane that ravaged their state more than three years before he took office.

Bush, who was in office at the time, was more responsible for the poor federal response while 29 percent said Obama, who was still a freshman U.S. Senator when the storm battered the Gulf Coast in 2005, was more responsible. The reason is that the brain grows circuits based in large measure on what it wants to believe, inspired by its culture.
Tell me again that right wing hate radio and Fox news tells me the truth. Propaganda works for the republican cult.

It reflects at least a partial realization of the ominous warnings provided by George Orwell in his classic novel, 1984.
For example, there is this passage covering the tasks performed by the protagonist, Winston Smith, within the Ministry of Truth. One of Smith’s tasks was to alter past news articles, though that task, as officially described, was to “rectify” the old articles.
The vast majority of Louisiana Republicans do not blame GWB for the federal government’s dismal performance in the aftermath of Katrina because they are bombarded, 24/7, with relentless propaganda from a vast, right wing echo chamber, which never associates that dismal performance with George “Heck of a job, Brownie” Bush.
They will blame who they’re told to blame. As Rush says, ‘just sit right back and let me do the thinking for you’….
