If the US currently had a real President and a real Attorney General, this would not be tolerated. At the very least, a conspiracy conviction could be achieved. Manson prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi once said that no conviction is easier than that of a conspiracy.

But no. America has neither a President nor an Attorney General. What we have is a pair who represent an antebellum term I really don't want to use, and who appear to collude with those who actively work to destroy the nation which both took an oath the serve and protect. That alone represents conspiracy.
