Actually I went back and apologized.
She was right, I was wrong. On the other hand the PBS/NYT/Citmedia should have been more clear about it, as well as the CA SOS website should have plain English rules for joe 6 pack easy to find.
007'ing it would have been illegal.
As you say if there is a next time, I will get prior approval. It's frustrating to learn these things at the last minute.
It might be I was making a mountain out of a mole hill, but I distinctly remember hearing on PBS to video the vote. So you really can't blame me for trying.

Fox reports that exit polls in some precincts in VA are 10% off from actual results. They explain that Obama voters are enthusiatis and therefore more willing to fill out poll forms. Shades of '04.

Bippy! My brain is too full of this stuff! I can't cram TiVo in with it. Somebody asked me to do Facebook the other day and I said, duh-huh, Facebook? There's only so much my poor nervous system can handle at once, and I'd love to be able to watch the occasional good tv show WITHOUT the fucking commercials.

In Cambridge, Massachusetts, the poll lists have been a problem all day. People who are properly registered have been left off the lists, creating roadblocks even beyond the huge turnout. This morning a bit more than an hour after the polls opened, I strolled over from the school bus stop to see an incredible sight. My polling place (Ward 1, Precinct 1) had a line stretching around the corner and halfway down the block, so I decided to come back later to vote. I asked one coworker later how long he had had to wait (I saw him in line), and he said 50 minutes. In 24 years of voting in this precinct I've never had to wait at all. Even when I voted a little after 5:00, there was a line inside and all the booths were occupied, so my next-door neighbor, who works the polls, told me to take the wheelchair booth. By the way, we vote on paper, which is fed into Diebold optical scan machines, and there are probably seven or eight booths, so it was really a surprise to me that there was any wait at all. According to the voting list posted outside the polling place, there are 1926 registered voters in my precinct, and my ballot was number 1210. I'm going over to see the results and find out the final voter count.
Wow. Just wow.

Lottakatz - Will they actually count the paper ballots ... or even look at the provisionals? "
Kira, sorry not to answer- I visited other sites and MSNBC and lost the thread (part 1)
When they/we talk about paper here in MO we aren't talking about real paper ballots or provisional ballots, we're talking about optical scanner ballots. We have no assurance that the scanners record what's on the ballots but if there are problems that call into question a precinct vote the ballots can be counted and compared to the electronic total. Yea' it's faith and magic more than vote integrity but few people want to use the touch screens once they know the problems with them.
That's why I'd just assume vote theft if certain precinct's weren't Obama by 75%. When African Americans poll for Obama at 80+% and so far all of the precinct's with 4-9 hour lines are overwhelmingly African American and they're asking for Paper ballots for the optical scanners ... well, if the precinct vote tabulation shows a close vote I just assume theft.
I want real paper ballots damnit!
Obama's gonna' win, IT'S A GREAT DAY FOR AMERICA.

Hagan Ousts Dole From North Carolina Senate Seat, Networks Say
By Nicholas Johnston
Nov. 4 (Bloomberg) --- North Carolina Democrat Kay Hagan beat incumbent Republican Elizabeth Dole in a U.S. Senate race that boosts Democrats' hopes for a filibuster-proof majority in the chamber, Fox News and CBS News reported.
Hagan, who has served as a state senator for a decade, accused Dole, 72, of being out of touch with a state where the jobless rate has climbed to 7 percent, the 10th-highest in the country. Republicans have held the Senate seat for 35 years.
Dole is a former secretary of transportation and is married to former Senator Bob Dole of Kansas, the Republican presidential nominee in 1996.
Democrats began the day with a 51-49 Senate majority, including two independents who support the caucus. Democrats are seeking to gain enough seats for a 60-vote majority, which is the number needed under Senate rules to overcome attempts to block legislation.
Twelve seats held by Democrats and 23 Republican-held seats are up for election this year.

All Obama needs to do is win California, Washington and his home state of Hawaii and he will exceed the 270 electoral votes necessary to win. All three of those states have been considered solidly in Obama's column essentially since the election began.

2:54 PM --- Two Republican removed for challenging voters
The removal of two Republican election workers from a Warren Township polling site - for using improper methods to challenge voters' rights to cast a ballot - has prompted local Republican Party leaders to issue a statement of regret.
The removal of two Republican election workers from a Warren Township polling site - for using improper methods to challenge voters' rights to cast a ballot - has prompted local Republican Party leaders to issue a statement of regret.
The two officials - an official challenger and a clerk - were removed by unanimous vote of the Marion County Election Board.
The officials were reportedly challenging voters with information obtained through party affiliation reports, which is not one of the accepted challenges such as a person's address, age or lack of ID.
"We were disappointed to hear of the incident regarding these two workers. The Marion County Republican Party was not aware of these alleged activities, nor did the Party instruct any worker to engage in such behavior," Marion County Republican Party Chairman Tom John said in a statement issued at 2 p.m.
"We encourage investigation by the proper authorities that may arise from this unfortunate incident. As we have always said, we wish to see all qualified voters vote and find it reprehensible to ever deter a proper voter from voting."
Election officials also heard reports from the Children's Museum polling site that similar challenges were being made. But when they approached the person doing that, he left the area.

Now that the McCain/Palin election can not be gamed, tossed, and KKKarl Rovanized, all of a sudden the Rethugs are concerned about the hackability of Electronic Voting Machines.
===
Republican National Committee Prepares for Computerized Voting Fraud Legal Battle
CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - November 4, 2008) - Forensicon, Inc., a Chicago-based computer forensics company, was contacted last Thursday by a security firm lining up vendors to assist the Republican National Committee with consulting related to potential allegations of computerized voter fraud. It has been widely reported that electronic voting machines in many states are vulnerable to hacking by anyone with the right equipment and a few minutes' access to the voting machine.
Yesterday, noted Chicago resident Oprah Winfrey attempted to cast her vote for her candidate, but the vote failed to register correctly.
It has been widely reported that electronic voting machines in many states are vulnerable to hacking by anyone with the right equipment and a few minutes' access to the voting machine with a handheld computing device. The lack of printed voting receipts in many of these systems leaves the election ballots in many areas vulnerable to rampant fraud and abuse.
"If the election returns vary significantly from the polled numbers in any precincts that proves crucial to the election outcome, I expect that a legal struggle over the validity of the election results will ensue," said Forensicon's President, Lee Neubecker.

So, in two nationally followed NEPA contests, Lou "Illegal Immigration is my only issue" Barletta, who was expected to lose to 12 term incumbent Paul Kanjorski, is behind by 500 votes with each having around 87,000...too close to call, but sort of an upset if Kanjorski wins, as he was predicted everywhere to lose.
And in the other NEPA race, Chris Carney-D wins a landslide over Chris "I might be an evangelical" Hackett-R in a heavy Republican district, which is astounding. The district put Republican Don Sherwood in there forever..until he choked his mistress in Washington DC, remember that? Then Carney upset him because of that 2 years ago, and they said the district would go right back to being Republican again, Carney was a one-shot wonder...but LANDSLIDE CARNEY!

I don't really care so much that Obama wins and I could care less if McCain did win and I am not a repub. I am just so excited we are getting that thing out of the white house in a few short months!!!
It is a new day in the U.S. and a new age for the world. Hopefully we can make amends to all the country's 'W' pissed off. Hopefully we can restore our country to a free country we once had with Obama.
It is going to be a rough ride folks. The financial meltdown is simply a symptom of the problems put on Obama's plate. Hang in there folks because it is probably going to get a lot worse before it gets any better.
It is going to take each and every worker in America to pay their taxes to pull us out of this mess. I hope and I pray the people that got us into this mess get what is coming to them.
I hope Obama keeps his promises and works hard on getting the U.S. back to producing. Get the U.S. factories back on line. Get everyone back to work. Get the money changing hands.
God bless you all and God bless America!!!

Unless my mind is playing tricks on me, McCain is conceding on CNN. Maybe I ate too much Chinese food...

I love all you guys --- we've been through so much over the last 5 years it's nearly been the death of some of us.
Are we Free At Last? Maybe soon.

I was looking at the HUGE crowd gathered for Obama and thinking how much smaller it would have been if McStinker had "won." Maybe 35 tops? *giggle*

My computer keep crashing,.. so hard to look up.
But some places call her Libby and other call her Liddy,.. it is all so confusing, Why don't they just call her LIZZY the Fascist bay-itch ?
Did find this tidbit from CNN archives,..
Elizabeth Dole
A brief portrait of the woman beside Bob Dole
NAME: Elizabeth Hanford Dole
RELATION: Second wife of Bob Dole
AGE AT CONVENTION: 60
BIO:
Elizabeth was born in Salisbury, North Carolina, on July 29, 1936 to a wealthy wholesale florist. Unlike Bob Dole, Elizabeth (self-nicknamed "Liddy" at the age of two) [apparently at age two she was attempting to say - "Hi - I'm LIZZY the fascist bay-itch... but from a two year old's mouth it came out Liddy - and stuck,..] had a comfortable childhood, complete with a summer house and ballet lessons.

Raw Story front page:
Obama wins 333 electoral votes; McCain 156
The link is bad though - goes to the wrong story.

Sinator Saxby Chambliss R-GA is desperate to steal another election. My understanding is they haven't even added in the early votes or counted the paper ballots or the 50,000 ripped-off votes or..or..or - aaarrrggghhh.

Hey Big Dan you can't beat up and pick on BB-2,..it is his birthday.
Save the insults for another day when they have had time to mature, ferment, and pack a better punch.
The element of surprise always works out nicely too.
