just an fyi, i got a personal phone call from PFAW today looking for support. I asked the caller if they were supporting the Holt bill and he said yes. I asked him if he was familiar with the bradblog and he said he knew exactly what I was talking about. Then he challenged me; would I rather do nothing and let the same thing happen in '08, or at least help get the Holt bill thru? I said I've been a bradblog reader since days after the '04 election and I have a lot of faith in Brad's understanding of the issue. He asked me to put my faith in the millions of people in PFAW and I said I was not as familiar with the issues as he, and that I allow I may be misguided but that at this time, I'm withholding any donations to them.

First, I want to thank everyone that has had their nose to the grindstone on Impeachment. Thank you.
Second, a question for David Swanson...The top story on Huffington Post this morning linked to this CNN (Censored News Network) piece ...What is your view of the Democrat candidates for Pres. '08 that aren't publicly calling for Impeachment? Do they support their base?

Brad,
Please ask John Washburn and John Gideon to tell us lowly peasants (who only pay 28% of their income in taxes) what we can do as citizens to make sure our votes end up being counted correctly in upcoming elections. I've been so busy working to get our city to call for the impeachment of King George and Darth Cheney that I've missed the voting recounts of 2006!! Thanks for the Washburn blog today. I'm very interested in getting involved with making sure MY FUCKING VOTE IS COUNTED THE WAY I WANT IT TO BE. Thanks!

Finally got a chance to listen to your show, Brad.
Great to hear progressive talk for a change.
It is truly a frightening thing when the Administration has given itself so much power from the executive orders...
It's weird when we joke about being listened to around my house. Dark humor...

There are huge furnaces apparent in some of the videos of the detention camps.... People would infer that means gas chambers very easily.

Hearing you loud and clear in Canada Brad. (Great music btw)
but...
Conyer's has copped out again.
[snip]
Sheehan and other activists meet with Conyers in his office for nearly two hours. Conyers told them there were not enough votes to impeach the President or Vice President, and so he did not intend to hold hearings on the impeachment resolution introduced by Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio

Even if someone we only call "Democratic" were to become "president" under these circumstances, it wouldn't be a political party victory at all... maybe already hasn't been for a while. A LOT of people don't believe * and Fudd are running things at all, that they are simply doing the bidding of those who wish to remain nameless.

When it comes to arguing for impeachment, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND John Nichols' book, The Genius of Impeachment - for OUTSTANDING quotes. Of course, he also now throws them out whenever he writes or speaks.
These quotes are the counter to the standard responses to impeachment, such as:
"Impeachment is not a constitutional crisis, impeachment is the cure for a constitutional crisis."
We need to learn them, make them our regular resources, and be unafraid to state them clearly, easily, logically, anytime.
I'm grabbing my book and notes, and I'll have more shortly. . .

By the way, Brad, I think that Ben's comment earlier about the gas chambers was alluding to the recent reports that the FEMA trailers in New Orleans were found to have 75 times the standard level of formaldehyde gas.
Oops.
But it's okay. The science is still out on this. Let us praaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy.

On Bill Moyers Journal on Friday, July 13, 2007, John Nichols said:
"The founders who had recently fought a revolution against a king named George would tell you that monarchical behavior, the behavior of a king, acting like a king, is an impeachable offense."
Shortened, we have: "Acting like a king is an impeachable offense." Damn right.

Riverside County has refused to post election results at each of the precincts (until March 2007), refused to inform voters they could vote on paper, had 617 precincts of ZERO registered voters but that registered one or two votes, violated CA state law by creating a large number with way over 1,000 voters and several with 2,000 voters. We observed a good number of forms attesting to the legitimacy of the vote counts at each precinct with what appeared to be forged signatures. And worst of all, we are NEVER NEVER allowed in the central tabulator room to view messages like "Fatal Error - cannot process 500 ballots" and thus they can claim all elections went off without a hitch!

I really hope "you all" (heard in Nashville)can get that third party elected. We have the NDP and they get enough numbers and help keep the two main party's on their toes. They are like having a mediator.
The Green Party is also making ground and it is nice to have a wider choice.

This shows we are victims, like the skeletons sitting next to Mike Moore in the ER waiting room.
The EI movement has a skeleton-like long history, even having long-time government support, and having only one person to blame for faulty inspections.
Yet the same beat goes on as we talk of old elections and look out the rear view mirror to try to see where we are going.
We are the gadfly movement, the people, the victims.
Because, for one reason, the government is a subsidiary of consumption, which used to be a disease, but is now the cause celebre.
