Meanwhile…As reported long ago, the GOP is planning to declare fraud after next Tuesday’s election. As initially linked by DRUDGE (which should tell you almost all you need to know) earlier today, the GOP is laying the groundwork:
In a letter to the Shelby County Election Commission, state GOP chairman Bob Davis Jr. charges the “lack of oversight and control” over the so-called Smartcards “has created a situation which could allow for voter fraud.”
The situation is not “lack of oversight and control” of these smart cards. It’s lack of oversight and control of our electoral system such that we’ve come to a place where there are so many access points to the system, it’s virtually impossible, with this equipment, to have any kind of security that could ensure a legitimate vote.
You’ll also note this unsubstantiated allegation from the AP coverage of the claims in TN:
Looks like the GOP is in good shape in Tennesse at this point. If they lose, they can make whatever claims they like: Fraud by Electronic Voting, or Voter Fraud by those nasty double-voting Dems.
Take your pick. And where is the DNC? Asleep at the wheel, apparently, as we’ve been trying to point out for months.
I am half-expecting the election on 11/7 to be an utter fiasco nationwide. The electronic voting systems are so obviously unsecure and unreliable. The Supreme Court may be called upon once again to settle the dispute. Optimistically, if it came to that, I hope the court would throw out the results from the election and order a nation-wide re-vote using a more secure and reliable paper ballot system defined by the court. That is how I see this possibly playing out. It is hard to tell, though, with so many Republican criminals like Bush, Cheney, Rove, Hastert, et al, in power.
Really unbelievable that the Republican Party, which ushered in this fiasco and has blocked EVERY effort at ANY kind of remedies, should now plan to cry foul against the corrupt system they allowed to come into existence, thereby potentially benefitting BOTH as corrupters and as protesters against their own corrupt system! And the useless Democratic Establishment will let them get away with it. Unf_ _kingbelievable!
Which Tenn election are they going to try to screw over?
I wish we could have gotten some federal court order to not use those scheming machines at all.
How about we use a hatchet to select our candidates instead of our finger tips?

Charter some 747,.. on November 8 fly all the incumbent Republican Senators and Representatives and any non-incumbent Republican candidates to Washington DC and have Hastert and Frist swear them into office at 1am ,.. in the dead of night. All this – unbeknownst to the American public.
When America wakes up on Wednesday morning the US Capitol is in full gear everyone is seated having been sworn in. The Republicans are in full control of our government with a super mega majority in both houses of congress.

All the “neocons” talk of God and how “holier than thou” they are; the ironic thing is that I have seen this great group, Brad especially, show all the goodness, caring, truthfulness that the “regime” claims to own, come out here BECAUSE of the thugs. I am proud to be an observer of all that you do. My belief in “the truth shall win” has grown just watching Bradblog and how far he has come in the last two years. Just wonderful to see. Nobody is going to believe the Republicans are popular enough to get a super majority. If that happens, this will cease to be a country of laws, (as if it is now)!

One thing that you can always depend upon these neoCons to do is to lead with a lie about their weakness.
They knew that Bush was AWOL so they questioned Kerry’s service.
They know that they are big government deficit spenders, so they attach this label to Democrats.
They knew that they lost and stole Florida so they immediately hapred that Dems should “get over it.”
They know that the public doesn’t trust the systems in their control that have made a mockery of democracy for six years, and so when they lose and the country questions the entire election system, they will claim that they were the ones wronged.
Skull&Bones Kerry set us up for this by letting Ohio be stolen (after requesting my money with a promise to fight election fraud only a week before!)
I guess if they call fraud we should call their bluff and offer immediate legislation that will end voter fraud forever.
Station Agent (#11): It sounds so good, but if they are in charge, the legislation that will get passed will simply be desinged to supress more non-Republican voters and to entrench whatever mechanisms they like for stealing and controlling elections.
If we do not end up after this mid-term election with Democratic control of one house of congress, this nation as a Democratic Republic is ABSOLUTELY and COMPLETELY gone — of this you can be totally sure. It will make Germany in 1939 look GOOD.
This is our last chance folks. It’s NOW or NEVER.
