Who benefits his agenda most, Burris or Franken? He'll trade (fold). RE just needs to wade in and start kicking ass.

Reid will fold because he has gotten unprecedented criticism and racist charges. Never have seen the blogs so adamant...the old man has gotta' go. Finally stood for something and it is the white man's good 'ol boy system. Not surprising. Goes with the mormon speaker of the house thingy. How many black mormons have you ever heard of? That is why mormons work so well for the republic party.

The better question might have been SHOULD Reid fold. This has been a topic for discussion on Thom Hartmann's Air America radio show and Thom makes a good case for seating Burris. Sadly Floridiot is probably right.

The law is that Blago gets to appoint the successor. Why doesn't someone have the courage to say, "That's the law. We may not like the way it works under these circumstances, but there it is. His appointee will be seated. If people think Burris doesn't deserve it, they can vote against him if he runs for the office when his appointed term expires." We have had eight years of an administration that just ignored the law. Can we just all agree that we are going to start following it again?

I have no idea whether Harry is going to fold or not, but it was too tempting to push the "yes, he always folds" button anyway. If someone can prove to me he folds for the good of the American people, I will stop thinking of him as a bad leader.

Reid, has sold us out for soooooooooo long, now, finally has sumpin to do with the levers of power we can ALL SEE... despite people's objections ...I think we should seat this guy.
So, I think I'm taking harry's position, only on this one seat though. The rest of his legacy sucks!

My sister who's a psychologist thinks blo-whatever-his-name is, is bipolar. Mind you, I don't agree with all dsm diagnosis...but sumpin just ain't right there. I think this appointment happened in a manic moment, but is good for the usa.

Yes, Ancient, and the fact that it would be good for America is precisely why I believe he'll stick to his guns. He and Pelosi have already done so much damage to our country that I can see no earthly reason why he (they) wouldn't keep right on making abysmal choices. We've been sold to support their humongous egos and posh lifestyle (pop quiz: Anyone know where the word posh comes from?).

Reid has GOT TO GO. He is part of the problem and he and Pelosi have run the course and it's time for them to be retired. They have done enough damage.
The fact is that Burris was appointed by a sitting governor who has been convicted of no crime. Blago may not be a nice guy but is not yet a criminal. Burris will not go quietly and will indeed end up with the seat. If the Good Ole Boys in the white boys club (the Senate) refuse to seat him there will be hell to pay for it. Reid cannot win and is just looking for political exposure which will come back to bite him in the butt. I guarantee.

Senator Reid has indicated that "Everything is negotiable"
Perhaps Roland Burris will need to learn exactly how this "Pay to Play" game works if he wants to be seated in the Senate.

i just watched my jr senator being turned away from the senate on msnbc and the reporters laughing away...yes once more just in the nic of time dems have managed to snatch a defeat from the jaws of victory
i feel like i live in a doonesbury comic strip....reid yakin about a taint as cheney(the torturer) swears in the senators that reid finds acceptable
so my question is...since i only get half the senators the constitution guareentees me...do i only have to pay half my taxes this yr?
burris has not been accused of any wrong doing, and in fact not even the gov has been indicted, not alone given his day in court and yet when stevens was on trial, the senate had no prob with him being a senator>>?
big wtfs all around...btw hasnt coleman been indicted for a campaign money prob too?
sigh why does the taint stuff only apply to dems?

Hey Ancient,
thanks for the plug.
I am from Il. and if Burris gets in we'll have our say a year from now in the elections and set things right.
Blagojevich is pouring gasoline on fire.
Franken is proof the voter is still in the game.
