So said Virginia’s Republican US Congressman, Edward L. Schrock when trying to change Clinton’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy. Schrock, in October of 2000, told the Virginia-Pilot the he supported asking enlistees whether they have had homosexual experiences in an effort to try to keep gays from serving.
Yesterday, Schrock suddenly dropped out of his race for a third term in Congress due to unspecified “allegations”, and now the Republicans are scrambling to find a replacement to run for what had been considered a safe seat.
What were those unspecified “allegations”? That the Married with Child “conservative” US congressman lived a double life as a gay man and tapes existed of him cruising gay phone lines for sex.
Still waiting for the “Liberal” media to give the same type of coverage to the story as they did to McGreevy. Have a feeling we’ll be waiting for a while.

These guys are treated with kid gloves. They have a lot of dont ask dont tell about a lot of things. Newts never asked about his first wife and kids. Scarborough is never asked about the death of an office assisatnt, Lori Klausutis. She was found dead in the congressman’s office. The results of the autopsy, carried out by a man who had his liscence stripped in Missouri, was "inconclusive" though it showed fractures to the skull. Scarborough was divorced and resigned from congress shortly before her death. i am not alleging anything about Mr. Scarborough, however, it is more than odd that a body with skull fractures is found in the office of a man who was at the end of a messy divorce and had just resigned from Congress and no one bothers asking questions. There were no bizarre speculations on taking long rides to throw away letters and so forth. No one bothered to ask.
Hell, i saw one congressperson from Florida deny that Rush was under any investigation at all (somebody’s passin the hillbilly heroin around). Insane.
2 words "Vince Foster".
ed,
i am not saying he killed her. i am just remarking on the fact that two almost identical events occurreed at the same time with almost identical circumstances and Condit became a target whole Scarborough did not. Indeed the Vice Foster stuff even more makes the case. Because of the echo chamber it took on a life of its own with even less merit than the Scarborough case.
Ed, you make John (and my) point precisely by pointing out Vince Foster!
Where is one-tenth of the investigation that you find when it’s a Dem near a dead body, a messy divorce, a gay lover or an extra-marital affair?
The Media, in the pocket of the Republicans, doesn’t bother.
But if there’s a Dem involved, look out.
The typical double-standard of the GOP and the Media that they control. The evidence is irrefutable.
Brad,
but i do love the real tinfoil hat stuff. Guys who happened to know a guy who knew a guy who ran into Clinton on a morning jog one day in 1986 died under mysterious circumstances….you cant beat that. They need to put THOSE republicans on the national news.
Um… that picture is not Ed Schrock (who’s definitely GAY). It is former Virginia Governor, James Gilmore (who is NOT gay). At least put the right photo with the person you’re talking about.
