"Failure to reset machines sets Yellowstone County back
Shortly before 3 a.m., about 20 percent of votes cast in Yellowstone County have been counted.
Officials said they expect to complete the tabulation by 5 a.m.
The reason for the delay is that the county recently got new machines and new software that need to be reset after absentee ballots are counted. Officials said they believe the machines weren’t zeroed out after the absentee ballots were counted"
A hack that was caught in Montana, maybe ? Link

The Dems must now impeach Bush&Cheney and anyone else involved in the illegal attack on the people of Iraq. The world demands justice. The American government is despised and distrusted throughout the world. This contempt for "America" will not be erased simply by putting the Dems in the majority in Congress and/or the Senate. There must now be some convincing evidence of integrity and justice. If Saddam can be convicted for war crimes, so should Bush&Cheney, and the rest involved, and all their money and possessions be paid to the Iraqis in restitution (like the Enron gang). The Dems/Reps in the American government are either going to act like decent world citizens, or continue with the arrogant and ignorant sham which the rest of the world will never "buy into" or forgive or forget.

What were the exit polls in Virginia and the other Burns Tester state? Is anyone reporting this cause it is a clue to any unusual events in the counting. Webb particulary was favored to win by 55-45% in some polls and there was record turnout in Virginia. That usually suggests democratic voters.

So jeez, did we win back the Senate or WHAT? This is from the website that Agent99 (via OldTurk) posted last night, 'The Races for US Senate', at 10 this morning eastern time:
Montana Votes %
Tester 194,914 49%
Burns 193,179 49%
Jones 10,166 3%
100% Reporting
Virginia Votes %
Webb 1,170,564 50%
Allen 1,162,719 49%
Parker 26,048 1%
100% Reporting
But I haven't heard anything definitive in my tv channel-surfing or
Ok! Just heard Brad on Stephanie Miller & it appears - surprise! - that the GOP are just a TAD more suspicious than their Dem counterparts when it comes to possible election fraud & will actually be INVESTIGATING whether such a madcap concept could turn out to be TRUE!
So I guess we'll just have to wait for the keys to the Senate till after they investigate.
(Wow. Somebody get out the featherduster 'cause that word 'investigate' is just COVERED in dust bunnies)
Hey! Maybe they could borrow some of those 2000 lawyers john kerry has in a lockbox somewhere, cuz it doesn't seem like he's using 'em!

ISRAEL RESPONDS TO THE AMERICAN ELECTION RESULTS WITH THIS:
Israeli artillery fire kills 19 women, children, in Gaza Strip
Malaysia Sun
Wednesday 8th November, 2006
Palestinian witnesses say artillery shells from Israeli tanks struck seven houses in Beit Hanoun in the pre-dawn hours, Wednesday. Hospital emergency rooms in Gaza City say more than 50 people were wounded in the attack - most of them women and children who were struck by the shells as they slept.
"We pulled out bodies, all women and children, dismembered, without heads or hands," Khaled Abu Saada, a Palestinian ambulance driver who evacuated the wounded to hospitals, told Ynet News.

Screw the Democratic party. They are a current product of the fraud at various levels, don't settle down yet.
Dems aren't going to do anything, except authorize more fascism with the next police state false flag operation as they have all along. Pelosi said "impeachment is off the table" already. Dems are empty and nothing. Don't settle for anything except a completely competitive party framework, a paper ballot auditable and completely transparent publicly owned voting infrastructure.

21. Clinton Eugene Curtis, of course we all know, with his video testimony on oath to the Ohio Panel concerning Ohio Vote Fraud in 2004, notes that he was hired in 2000 by then current Speaker of the Florida House Feeney (now in the Federal Senate) and very close to the Bush family, to design a vote fraud program to "steal the vote in Florida." (Curtis notes that Feeney is additionally connected with protecting a Chinese spy ring in the U.S. in its thefts of U.S. military secrets, which went unpunished.)

22. State wide vote rigging started before 1970 in Florida, perhaps other states...
VoteScam, by known from 1970-to present: [read half the book for free, they meant the book to be used as evidence in a future court case]
THE STEALING OF AMERICA
The definitive site for information on systemic vote rigging in America. Indispensible for research on computerized voting machine fraud, corporate election fraud, and the role of the media in manipulating vote results.
Notable Votescam quotes:
"I don't want to get caught up in this thing!" --- Joyce Dieffenderfer, former president of the League of Women Voters, after admitting the TV networks lied about hiring the League on election night.
"You'll never prove it, now get out!" --- Elton Davis, TV network computer programmer responsible for magically "projecting" 100% accurate vote results.
"This may be the biggest vote fraud scandal ever to rock the nation!" --- Mike Wallace of "60 Minutes" upon reviewing the Votescam evidence. However, after meeting with his higher-up's, Mr. Wallace dropped the issue like a vial of Anthrax.
"When you're dealing with the networks, gentleman, you're dealing with a shadow government." --- ABC Supreme Court correspondent, Tim O'Brien, explaining why the station refused to run video taped evidence of vote fraud.
FORGET THE DEMOCRATS. SUGGESTIONS:
anybody want to WRECK A DIEBOLD e-vote machine and get court case rolling?
just a suggestion
Think about it. Both democrats and Republicans would be up in arms. I don't care whether you are upset with the Republican or the Democratic political party, or both. Both are dependent upon rigged elections. If you choose not this election for this brave and selfless act, I suggest that someone take this into their own hands in an upcoming election.
Get everything already set. Have a lawyer ready with the widely available case documents. Charge Diebold, the Republican Party, and the Democratic Party for conspiracy to commit vote fraud. It is a powerful and true statement of the tyranny that people are sleepwalking into. Wake them up with a hammer!! Throw it on the floor! I actually doubt they would want to press charges however. This is what happened with lots of Collier brother antics along similar lines believe it or not! No one wanted to start the legal machinery. That is why the legal machinery must be forced open in increasingly destructive ways. Perhaps simultaneous destructions across a single state, or multiple states at once?
You have to get multiple jurisdictions in play to make it less likely that the criminals who presently run the United States can squash it.
Once it goes through the courts, hopefully open ended grand jury with subpoena powers, then on the record, you could call all sorts of support from governmental, academic, and corporate witnesses.
It would get lots of media play and be a grand statement. It would be like Ghandi illegally making salt on the beaches of India to break the British salt monopoly. It would be like a real BOSTON TEA PARTY where people take democracy into their own hands to intentionally break the law to create an inflammatory context.
However, there in the end would be nothing illegal about this because the whole VoteScam would come out in the open. The Collier brothers will be avenged.

I think it was the overwhelming Dem turnout, as well as the vigilance spurred by brad blog, all of the vote sites brad links to, LINK TV, FSTV, etc...causing much more vigilance by voters and the Dems and poll workers.
We still need to get rid of e-vote machines. Anyone who watches "Hacking Democracy" would want to get rid of them. Why wasn't this on ABC/NBC/CBS? On a channel the whole public gets??? Huh???
I think Lou Dobbs was the only one in the CMSM reporting on e-vote machines.
It didn't change, we need to get rid of them. The problem is, who's going to get rid of them, if it isn't us? Now that the Dems won, do you think they want to get rid of the system that put them in?
We have to do it.

Over the last 8 years the Republicans have disenfranchised about 5 MILLION Americans (read Greg Palast for the details on that), mostly Democrats and mostly poor, Hispanic, Indian, black, urban, or some combination thereof.
In addition, by playing divisive and ugly politics, they have probably frightened (or disgusted) away from the "Democratic Process" another 10-15 MILLION or more (perhaps 50 MILLION more if you take Arianna Huffington's word on it).
The time is now for a new campaign...
"Come back to Democracy --- America needs you!"
The bullet points are:
1. For too long, the Republicans have worked to take people OUT of the Democratic Process. The Democratic Party wants them back in the process and actively helping America.
2. Everybody who is entitled to vote must take it upon themselves to make sure they are registered to vote and that they cast a ballot. The political parties nationally and locally can HELP, but it is the responsibility of each American citizen to protect and exercise their right to vote.
3. Every American Citizen who is not incarcerated or institutionalized shall be entitled to the right to vote without undue burden.
4. When Americans cast their ballots there must be the option of "none of the above" for each and every race they vote upon. Instant Runoff Voting shall be implemented in every situation where it can be done.
5. The Democratic Party will work to make sure that the voting process across the country is fair and that the process of registering and voting is not a financial hardship for any American.
6. The Democratic Party will work to assure that the process of counting America's vote is transparent and open and not managed by secret systems or owned by private companies. The integrity of America's Democratic Elections will never again be in question. America must present the best and most honest elections in the World as a role model for the world of what Democracy can offer.
7. Because money can and does corrupt the Democratic political process, the Democratic Party will work to develop strong laws, regulations, and policies that limit the amount of money that any one entity can infuse into the political process, whether for a specific candidate, issue, or party.
8. The Democratic Party will work to bring back the Fairness Doctrine so that if America's airwaves are used to further a specific political candidate, party or issue by those corporations that have temporary custody of them, the opposition will have equal time to respond on those same airwaves.
9. The world will be able to once again respect and acknowledge the leadership of the United States in the fight for Democracy, and every American will be a soldier in that battle.
"Come back to Democracy --- America needs you!"
By implementing such a program, the Democratic Party becomes the party of DEMOCRACY and the Republican Party can join in the cause or can choose to be the "party AGAINST Democracy."

This is it in a nutshell: E-vote machines are proven hackable. Isn't that just it in a nutshell? Can anyone argue with that?
Yes or No: Are e-vote machines hackable?
Answer: Yes.
Next question: What do we do?
Dredd, there is NO WAY our current system of counting the votes is good, PERIOD!!!
And it's not just the machines, it's the disenfranchizement, suppression, intimidation, roadblocks, racism, etc...
On Democray NOW! today (you should watch it), Nader said it should be the law that every citizen votes, and you must pull a "none of the above" level if you must, but you must vote. Every citizen must vote. And election day should be a holiday, how come that never gets any traction??????????

I think it's true that MANY of the dems are as corrupt or nearly as corrupt as the repubs. Money & power are just as sweet & seductive as they always were, and Pelosi is not talking about election fraud.
Without attention election fraud will remain an unknowable, uncontrollable threat to democracy. A permanent trojan horse.
I'm happy rummy & hastert are going, happy for all the wins, of course, no question. But the biggest problem (on the long long list of big problems) in my opinion is the fact that they've destroyed the very concept of the rule of law in this country. With these signing statements, the torture bill, the suspension of habeas corpus, no oversight, a joke of an ethics committee & all the rest of it...
I really think getting the country firmly back under the RULE OF LAW should be THE number one item on the dems' agenda.
Damn, though, the list is long. I do agree that we cannot let them forget why they're there. We MUST be heard. We MUST make them listen, by not letting up on them.

Great comments y'all.
I'm of the tsunami effect persuasion. The GOP couldn't steal all of this one without laying out all their cards in full view - and they knew we were WATCHING everywhere this time. Have no doubt they stole a heckuva lot of votes. The election results showed the same mighty close totals.
I fully believe Americans voted overwhelmingly BLUE yesterday. I fully believe almost every state voted strongly for Democrats - banded together in an all-out effort to change congress. Those tight election result numbers don't look right to me. Looks like a way for GOPers to proclaim the DEMs just barely made it.

That is horrendous & heart-rending. Cutting off childrens' heads and hands is the most vile and heartless act I can think of other than any kind of violence towards children. I would love to see an end to the barbarism of war, but when you have people like the *s, DeLays & Abramoffs et al ad nauseum, there will be war after war. Let's do what we can to press for change.
Can you explain to me, Plunger, how this is a reaction to our elections last night?

Joan --- And I agree with you. We really have to look carefully at this election. What Brad and others have uncovered are still facts, and there is no doubt in my mind, from the evidence that can't be refuted, that 2004 (not to mention 2002 and 2000) were very corrupt and that the presidential race was stolen. (And, of course, why should we ever vote on unreliable, hackable machines?)
There is very little to go on yet, but initially I'd say the tsunami effect was crucial as was the detailed delineation of machine vulerabilities and corruption that really was on the upsurge in terms of coverage lately. It would have been much more difficult to pull something off when you put the two things together.
And maybe we thought the crooks had it much more together than they actually did. I have a feeling that the Sadaam sentencing the day before the election was meant to be a big deal, a big pre-election surprise. Talk about out of touch. "Big deal" is right. That's what most people are probably saying.

On the other part...we actually did elect Congress. The corporations didn't. There is no choice but to continue to strengthen and grow a peoples movement that continually pressures legislators and demands adherence to democratic principles. It's tough given the system of legislation by bribery, but that in itself has to be addressed.
That said and concomitantly, there is another first order of business. It's to cut off corporate takeover of the internet right now and assure net neutrality forever.

And I think the tsunami effect (i.e., our turning out in HUGE numbers) was amplified by the failure of the repugnatrons to live up to their "reputation" of turning out the vote. Double Whammy Squared!
