“There’s a lot to be concerned about here,” said Maryland Gov. Ehrlich recently about the state’s Diebold TS voting machines. “I think the system is fabulous,” said Linda Lamone, administrator for the state Board of Elections. “It’s probably the most secure system in the country.” / “Is it even possible to ensure the trustworthiness of the hardware and software in a voting system? My opinion is no,” said David Dill, a professor of computer science at Stanford University and a critic of electronic voting. / “Basically, all election officials say, ‘We’re as pure as the driven snow, and nobody has ever cheated,’ ” said John Washburn, a Milwaukee software analyst. “It’s the same as if you’re a bank and you say, ‘OK, I’m going to assume that my tellers will never steal money from the till.’ “…

What’s up with this Linda Lamone ? Is she on drugs ?
All this chatterbox happy talk,.. how can she be so divorced from reality ? Is she injecting LSD under her tongue,.. or is she just plain daffy ?
Linda Lamone is drunk on ignorance.
Plastic bliss leads to plastic “democracy”.
Hey all lets play pretend that there is no corruption … wanna … ????
I wonder what would happen if a voting machine sent home for a “sleepover” was stolen or did not otherwise appear at the polling place. Do they have serial numbers? Might it appear later on ebay or in a garage sale? How do we know the machine sent home is the same one returning to the polls? Can this become an issue in the news? Can we feed the fear most Republicans seem to need to survive by questioning the voting machines authenticity as being the same machine sent home?
“It’s probably the most secure system in the country.”
If only that were something to brag about!
I sure would not bet on the security of the most secure system in the country. Would You?
“Is it even possible to ensure the trustworthiness of the hardware and software in a voting system? My opinion is no,”
Right on David! So the answer can not be a matter of trust the system. The answer can only be verified voting. The great thing about computers is they remember well. The answer is thus clearly to take advantage of that ability by publishing all vote cast by a unique number for each voter so that each voter can check and see if his/her vote was actually counted as cast. “Trust us” will never be good enough to satisfy anybody with a logical mind.
Either fix your system or dump your system. Don’t just continue to try and sell your clearly broken system to us. We will never buy your fatally flawed system! Trust me.

You don’t suppose Lynette “Squeaky” Frome changed her name to Linda Lamone and is now hideously murdering our democracy do you?
