I had an epiphany tonight! Want to tighten security on these machines? Or get rid of them all together?
Now before I say this - I'm an honest guy an am uncomfortable as hell with the though but it may be the only way...
Show me and everyone else how to hack the machines. The thought of thousands of progressive marching to the polls with the ability cheat and steal, as the repugs. did will most certainly get the machines protected.
I know it's fighting fire with fire butlet's even the playing field. How is congress gonna react knowing that we can steal the elections back?
Mind you I want to when fair and square in November so let's scare the hell out of them to get something done!
Peace,
Tony

#1 KBE,
Hahaha you're so right!
I wanted to give folks a heads-up on this 9/11 conference that was held in June & will be aired on CSPAN tonight. I found this on RawStory:
"9/11 and the NeoCon Agenda on CSPAN
On Saturday July 29 @ 8PM EST CSPAN will air a panel discussion from The American Scholars Symposium.
The panel consisting of academics, former military, and researchers, challenges the government's official story of what happened on 9/11."

Here are some links to classes on computer hacking:
Essentials of Hacking
If the US voting machines are hacked from a foreign country, the odds are 8 in 10 that it will be from Brazil (link here), and it is said that they are getting stronger by the day (link here).
The US election warlords who brag (falsely) about our elections being unhackable are, like Bush when he said 'bring it on', asking for more trouble than they can even imagine in their feeble brains.
The computer world knows different (link here).

To Tony in #2:
It's already been done, Tony. Bev Harris first published a redacted version of the latest security report, but then after there was almost no response, and very little coverage of the issues in the MSM, she published an unredacted version of Harri Hursti's report.
We're in a sorry state indeed.
As someone else pointed out on Salon a while back, If one side believes the other is cheating doesn't that suggest that they have to cheat too? They'd have to be fools not to, that person said. And now, here's Tony, suggesting exactly that.
See folks? See the road we're on? I believe fervently that we've all seen enough of this road. It doesn't require a lot of money or technology to have a transparent and fair election process. Just the will of the people.
So where are the people? Why are the comments appearing here by ones and twos, instead of hundreds and thousands? I feel like I'm on the Titanic after it has hit the iceburg, but before anything else has happened, and I'm running around shouting at people that the ship is sinking and they'd better start doing the life boats and all that. And people are saying why, you silly little conspiracist. This is our great vast Titanic democracy we're all riding on here. Nothing like a little iceburg could bother us. Nothing bad could possibly happen here.
Our democracy is sinking. It just hasn't quite stood on end to disappear beneath the waves forever. Not just yet. But it's going to get lots worse.

BB2 - Bush sits back and watches because he is a sadist. He's loving it. As a matter of fact, it's been reasonably asserted that he actually resents those in uniform who actually serve (for example, his dad - his arch rival) so why not sit back, watch, and enjoy anyone get extinguished. Beats sticking firecrackers inside of frogs like he did as a kid. He needs it and encourages it and helps make it happen because if he doesn't export enough visciousness he'll turn the need for it back onto himself...again. He's walking a very fine line. He's very ill. He's never fixed anything. All he's ever done is broken stuff, lied about it, made jokes of it, and made others pick up the pieces.

"So where are the people? Why are the comments appearing here by ones and twos, instead of hundreds and thousands?"
John Dowd I've been a regular here from the start and have spent thousands of hours reading about your elections and electoral system.
America is not a democracy, full stop.
In 2000 the SCOTUS condemned democracy to an early grave in America and in 2004 the likes of Blackwell in Ohio shoveled the dirt over the corpse.
Therefore democracy does not need saving it needs RESURRECTING as in :
res·ur·rect
To bring back to life; raise from the dead.
To bring back into practice, notice, or use.
As in History, the victor writes history, democracy in America, the alleged victor supports the alleged results and to question those results is you are labeled a “poor loser”.
It seems that being labeled a “poor loser” is worst than admitting that democracy is dead in America and fighting for its restoration .
Sad ,very sad and by the way only 1,523 died from the sinking of the Titanic ,your government oversaw twice that amount of deaths on 911 thru incompetence / complicity on a single day and from there its only got worse …Iraq ,Katrina …etc.

Bluebear2, Agent99,
I taped the CSPAN coverage of the conference, just got home a little while ago & haven't watched the whole thing yet, but I agree, it was GOOD STUFF & about damn time. They were really fired up.
Never mind a breath, that conference was a goddamn hurricane of fresh air, even the little I saw.
It was so good--although, Jesus, it makes you want to tear your hair out, the absolute evil that continues to be done--it was good to hear the level of ANGER & the determination to hold these criminals ACCOUNTABLE for their obscene greed & brutality & corruption.
Good to hear the word TREASON said loud & clear for a goddamn change!!!
Just today I caught the tail end of an interview on Air America or maybe it was NPR with a Jonathan somebody (it was around 4 p.m. or so...anybody hear it?) that was absolutely INFURIATING. They were talking about the SCOTUS having just dealt a blow to the president's legal arguments for his spying-without-warrants programs & the possible legal implications of that.
Ok, good, but the language he used after that just made my blood boil, about how it MAY come out that the president MAY HAVE broken the law about 30 times & how people may not be ready to face that shocking POSSIBILITY...!
I thought, dear God is he joking? Who IS this man & what rock has he been living under?!
I'm so SICK of hearing timid BULLSHIT like that!! I mean the guy was a GOOD GUY presumably, I realize, but I just wanted to shake him!
People are READY, for goodness sake!!! Ready for impeachment, ready for indictment, ready for incarceration & orange jumpsuits & leg irons for these guys!!

Want to share a little history about one of my states Senators. Most people are unaware that sweet old Arlen was the Legal Counsel for the Warren Commission. In that capacity he controlled what witnesses were worthy of the Commissions time. Little Ricky might be a world class nutcase puke, but Arlen has some really dark shit in his past. His complicity in the Warren Report, which is still one of the worst examples of criminal investigation in this country's history was his apprentice program. MMIIXX #25 and Laura #26-
The journey I have made since the time I first started reading this blog has been a life altering experience in both good and not so good ways. I have had to realize that so much of what I have been told and read and accepted through the years, especially about this country, is a sham. Once that innocence is lost, there is no going back, even if you sometimes wish you could. It is like I am seeing the world now through a good pair of glasses when, before, what I was seeing was blurry or obscured and I didn't even know it . The truly frustrating part is that, none of those in my family who are liberal (fortunately, there are no conservatives among those who I interact regularly with) and reasonably well-informed have made the journey with me and I sometimes feel a deep chasm between myself and them when we discuss politics and world events. I usually feel they are either still buying into much of the dogma and propaganda that is part of our culture (eg- Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East and we must always support them) or they are just ignorant (eg- about the vulnerability of our election process to corruption). When I get going on some of the stuff I read and hear at Bradblog and other Progressive sites and on Air America, I can often tell that I am either boring them or that they think that I've become a bit eccentric with all my stories about election fraud and other conspiracies. It really makes me see clearly how much inertia there is, in both thought and habit, that stands in the way of reversing the downhill spiral that I think we are in. You people on this blog are not only my teachers but my fellow travelers without whom I would either be more ignorant or more angry and frustrated than I am now.

A perv who makes his kids play with their stillborn sibling, and a posturing nobody whose vanity blinds him to the mental contortions he puts on public display in order to stay a senator, selling heroes and his country for a gavel and a hair transplant.
And, Steve, I can sure identify with your frustration --- have felt nearly ready to burst of it many times. Don't focus on that. Focus on how beautiful is even the ugliest truth. If you have truth, you stand a chance to deal with reality, to have a true life, to make real improvements. Without that, even if you're a liberal, it's as sad and as unworthy as Arlen Specter, if not quite that heinous. There's a new thread up on the front page about the C-SPAN coverage of a 9/11 Truth event. You could tape it when it is rebroadcast later today, and show it to your family. They might respond to visual aids.

"Blogger Jailed After Defying Court Orders"
By JESSE McKINLEY
August 2, 2006
"SAN FRANCISCO
A freelance journalist and blogger was jailed on Tuesday after refusing to turn over video he took at an anticapitalist protest..."
"...Jane Kirtley, a professor of media ethics and law at the University of Minnesota, said that although the jailing of journalists had become more common, Mr. Wolf’s case was the first she had heard of in which a blogger had been pursued and eventually jailed by federal authorities.
“There is a tendency on the part of the prosecutors to go aggressively after people not perceived to have a big gun behind them,” ..."
His mom, blogging on his site:
"...Although the July 20th hearing seemed promising, today the judge, Judge Alsop ruled against all motions including 5th amendment rights, rights coming under freedom of the press, against bail or a stay. Josh is in Dublin federal prison, in the East Bay area of the San Francisco Bay...
...his lawyer is planning to file an appeal to the federal 9th circuit court. That filing alone costs almost $500, so if you can donate any little bit helps..."

I guess that's just more work for everyone. I do feel bad that I did that to such an important thread, so honestly mean please move or delete the post if you can. I will say though that I have thought lately that when others have been off topic the comments seem alittle harsh. I guess if your toooo nice no one gets the message.

Sally #56:
I posted an apology to Joy and Tom in the other thread --- I did it there because that thread seemed to be going out of control. That interview is too important to be watered down in the comments section by the likes of me.
I didn't feel that it was that "off topic". It isn't like we were talking about the footy or the tea cakes.
Sometimes I feel as though fate plopped me down over there just to wake me up. Human nature is the same no matter where one lives. We can all get so busy with our everyday lives that we don't have the time to really look at the issues.
And looking at my country today, with the Busheviks in power, I can see why you wanted our nuclear stuff out of there. When illegal regimes have their finger on the button, the world is a very scarey place.
I think that when the ANZUS treaty was signed, there was an expectation that we were all "free peoples" who would continue to fight for that freedom together. America today seems to have a very different attitude.
There is no way that I could have imagined in 1984 that Americans would allow an illegal regime to take power. I believed that the citizens would have stormed the gates and cried out in horror at that atrocity.
Instead, there are jokes made about the "sore losers", as if this is a football game where everyone just has to accept the call of the ref.
New Zealand was right to not trust us. We are too busy with our cell phones to notice the mushroom clouds on the horizon.

Hope you come back to NZ one day and are treated with the respect you deserve.
Glad we are all on the same very important side again. You a real patriot for putting small differences aside for whats really important. I hope all that interlude is deleted from that great thread. I felt the circumstances of our posts sort of mitigated going OT although at the time was just not thinking. Felt Joys comments towards NZ were sarky and uneccessary but communication covers a wide spectrum. Joy felt she had been nice. NZ's who travel to Tahiti or Paris often think the treatment is rude when seen its as normal there.
"I think that when the ANZUS treaty was signed, there was an expectation that we were all "free peoples" who would continue to fight for that freedom together. America today seems to have a very different attitude."
I naively still find it difficult to fathom why anyone would want to demolish democracy.
Democracy is a breeding ground for peace and prosperity. Its not perfect but the best option.
I must admit to being sucked in by Bush when he first invaded Iraq. I really believed his motives were good. Looks like it was all part of the plan. While he keeps this war going there are no forces in America to uphold Democracy.
"When illegal regimes have their finger on the button, the world is a very scarey place"
Its still hard to believe what happeing its like a bad dream. Must be a nightmare for you. And yes very scary when that regime is the most powerful nation on earth.
Right next door to NZ its starting in OZ. Isn't it odd that Rupert Murdock an Australian born big player in the MSM is in control of Fox the biggest right wing propaganda machine on earth.
We even get Fox here in NZ on Prime though it is not widely watched.
I think we all know human nature can be pretty dodgey but when it confronts us personally its a nasty shock.
NZ culture is changing. The extreme right wing is here. For now they are pretending to be moderate. There are still good people in NZ though who do sometimes speak up.
Need to get back to my studies again so will disapear for now

The "anti-Semite" - SIDNEY BLUMENTHAL
Says the neo-cons are beating the drums for war louder
and louder. Condi Rice dare spoke that maybe diplomacy
should be given a more serious chance in the Middle
East,.. the neo-cons are now out to slash her throat.
She is headed to the same trash heap that the neo-cons
dumped Colin Powell. The liberalism of diplomatic
discussions will not be tolerated in this
administration,.. the only topic open for discussion
is WAR,.. WAR,.. AND MORE WAR.
