Sources tell The BRAD BLOG that The Daily Show on Comedy Central will be running an item tonight on self-proclaimed satirical journalist Bill O’Reilly’s use of a year-old video clip to support his phony “War on Christmas” as originally reported here on Sunday.
Our report was picked up by MediaMatters.org yesterday. We had reported on O’Reilly’s use of the clip in his “Talking Points Memo” segment on Fox “News'” The O’Reilly Factor program last Friday and Media Matters added that O’Reilly had also run the same clip by Daily Show “correspondent” Samantha Bee audio-only on his Radio Factor show earlier that day where he misleadingly introduced it as “what happenened there last night” on Comedy Central.
BRAD BLOG’s original report has the video and discusses O’Reilly’s phony use of the clip to shore up momentum in his imaginery “War on Christmas”. The video clip clearly shows a calendar for 2004 behind Bee who is also currently very pregnant — which she wasn’t in the clip. As well, Media Matters confirmed our report that the segment had not been played on The Daily Show at any time during the previous week contrary to O’Reilly’s assertion.

The Daily Show is Fake News as described by the host himself. Comedy central is no place to rely on news. The fact that you people get your news from comedians is true comedy.

Against my better judgment I spent a few minutes watching Fox Network tonight. The subject was Iraq.
Fox had assembled a "panel" of the usual suspects.
Their entire discussion was about DEMOCRATS, and about their differences with one another about whether to pull out of Iraq, stay for a few months, stay the course, whatever. The conclusion? Because Democrats on Capitol Hill are not of one mind about what to do, Bush has won the debate. "Stay the course" is the winning strategy, because Murtha, Kerry, Dean, Hillary, and Reid haven’t yet solved the problem Bush created.
Does any rational person believe that? Unless polls are meaningless (in which case, Bush really won the election in 2004) the American people don’t give a rats ass which party gains or loses here. The American people have said, "This war is wrong, it was based on lies, and it’s a dead-end street." Could it be any clearer than that?

What’s missing from the White House Christmas card? Christmas.
This month, as in every December since he took office, President Bush sent out cards with a generic end-of-the-year message, wishing 1.4 million of his close friends and supporters a happy "holiday season."
Many people are thrilled to get a White House Christmas card, no matter what the greeting inside. But some conservative Christians are reacting as if Bush stuck coal in their stockings.
"This clearly demonstrates that the Bush administration has suffered a loss of will and that they have capitulated to the worst elements in our culture," said William A. Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights.
Bush "claims to be a born-again, evangelical Christian. But he sure doesn’t act like one," said Joseph Farah, editor of the conservative Web site WorldNetDaily.com. "I threw out my White House card as soon as I got it."

I remember last year after the last "election" Jon Stewart was on Larry King. At the end King took phone calls and this little girl in sixth/seventh grade called in and said her class followed the election. She knew more than the other students from watching "The Daily Show." How sad is that?

What you’re saying to the 30 percent (or more) of the members of the all-volunteer U.S. military who are liberal that if they win in Iraq, they actually lose, but if they lose in Iraq then they actually win.
And you are also stating that the 30 percent (or more) soldiers who are laying their lives on the line in Iraq, and who also are liberal, that they are actually aiding and abetting the right-wing religious terrorists by serving and fighting in Iraq.

If we "win" in Iraq. Only the richest and closest to the military industry complex will actually reap any rewards. You can already see that by the millions that just "disappear". (they’ve already won… lining their pockets with the missing monies.. while we gain no benefit from what is essentially an illegal war.)
