Does anyone realize how Hitler-like it is, to bomb a news outlet??? This alone should be enough to change a lot of hardcore conservatives minds about Bush. He'd bomb the NYTimes, if it wasn't in America!

Doesn't this prove that the Bush administration is like Goebbels ministry of propoganda? I mean, bombing a news outlet is like bombing dissenting opinion.
They did it to the NYTimes, but used guerilla warfare with Judith Miller. The NYTimes stinks!

Big Dan - I wouldn't be so sure it's going to change anyone's mind. Those who believe that launching an invasion of a foreign country was a sensible way to fight terrorism also seem to be of the opinion that Al Jazeera aids and abets terrorists, and that this makes it a legitimate military target.
I can actually buy that argument, to a point. It's not unlike the argument that the civilian contractors in Iraq are legitimate military targets, because they perform tasks that aid the US military. The problem, to my mind, is that EVEN IF Al Jazeera has been guilty of aiding the "insurgency" (and I haven't seen any evidence that they have), attacking a media outlet is not exactly a good way to win "the hearts and minds" of the people. Just like the whole invasion idea, it's incredibly shortsighted.

I don't believe it. I think this is a Bullsh-t story. Al Jazeera is a tool of the same people who carried out 911-- the carlyle group type people. people within our own gov't. They want it to look like there is a conflict between Al Jazeera and Bush to maintain Al-Jazeera's cover. Al Jazeera promotes the same us vs. terrorists paradigm that our media promotes, which is exactly the paradigm they want the rest of the world to believe in.
