Too bad Bush doesn't get that kind of response from us, his own countrymen. Could it be that the people in Argentina are more informed? Could it be that our own countrymen aren't paying attention? could it be that the people of the united states don't care about "politics?"

Has anyone really suggested that Dubya is drinking again? Is there any real proof, or even allegation? I mean, come on, we all know he can look stupid at the drop of a hat... I have a little trouble accusing a guy who (in possibly the only good thing he'd ever done...) quit drinking of jumping back in the sauce; but I must say that over the last three months I've seen more than one photo that looks like that of a drunk President...
Lawd knows there's plenty of real accusations and real problems the guy is causing us that we should focus towards...

I have no problem with it. I've known plenty of drunks; enough to know the behavior. Slurring of words, mixing up words, stumbling up air plane steps . . . and if the above isn't the face of a drunk I don't know what is.

His general groggy behaviour makes me believe he's on some kind of strong meds (or maybe a mixture of cocaine and booze).

Given his childhood fun with firecrackers in frogs and his known penchant for flying off the handle, I'd say he's not far from the sauce if he's not already indulging.
GW is a schoolyard bully who never had to fight his own battles. His intellect is low and so were his grades. He's a made man. He never accomplished a single thing on his own. He's been pampered and cottled from day one.
BUT, GW is an alcoholic - even tho he may not be drinking. Alcoholics, by their nature, are the center of their own universes. They're egotistical, selfish and self-loathing all in one. The only way one can truly recover is to change the whole person. GW hasn't done that by any stretch of the imagination.
His show on the Aircratf carrier at "mission accomplished" demonstrated his Ego to the world. He had no idea how silly he looked and still doesn't.
His lies, deceit and cover-ups have demonstrated his selfishness is still full blown.
The fact that he openly claims that "God told him" to...what amounts to "kill over 100,000 people" show all to well he is still the center of his own universe and believes that people should somehow respect him for it.
If he isn't drinking, then he's a certified basket case and should be committed before he does any more damage. If he is drinking, then hes following the pattern of an alcoholic to the tee and nothing has changed since his youth.
His claim of being born-again is about as.....well, I'm the King of Kashmir. How's that?
I am, you know!

I was just reading some comments at Dailykos on an open thread. The post referenced an article at firedoglake regarding the security team bush took to Argentina. I went to the site but it is so huge I couldn't find the article. Briefly, the poster said, his security team was 2000 strong, 3 planes loaded with arms, 4 AWAC spy planes, Sikorsky helicopters, and Navy ships patroling the coast. Ohmigod, if this is true, no wonder a letter was written to him asking he not come.
When I was watching the coverage of the 'hoodlums' yesterday, some comments were made to the fact that bushes S.S. were not happy with the security Argentina had. Again, if the above is true, bush felt it necessary to take his own army, at our expense, to a party, he was asked not to attend. (The media did pan to the sky now and then and showed black helicopters circling about).
Bush was well prepared for his 'welcome' cuz that is how 'humble' man prepares.

When one looks at a photograph of rioters, from any nation on the earth, what does one see?
If one hates a particular group, one sees that group and labels it so.
So if ten hateful people from ten different nations are shown a photograph of a riot, they see ten different groups doing the rioting. It is called bias.
But there is only one type of rioter, not ten. Yep, riots are composed of one type of person, and one type only - rioters. It is the imagination fueled by bias and hatred that thinks there is more to a riot that plain old rioters.
There is no nexus between a person's ideology and a riot ... the only nexus is the willingness to riot.
Any race, creed, religion, or gender can do a riot.
The only commonality is the spirit to riot. The rest of the story is added by the viewer's bias.
So, we can conclude that every riot is composed of rioters.
And since you are such a riot here is a troll stroke ... just in case it gets lonely down under the bridge

Note that hoods and orange "free trade" suits would also be shared between all nations who sign the treaty.
Cheney was convinced that free hoods would convince everyone and was very surprised that no one signed the deal.

Mob mentality exists around the world --- seen no more clearly than in groups of extremist religious zealots & fundamentalists --- both Christian and Muslim. But sometimes the mobs are made up of people who have been egregiously disenfranchised until they are living in abject poverty. (Remember the demise of the Ruling Elites in various historic accounts.)
People who are intellectually challenged [or morally deficient] such as Right-wing extremist ideologues, can't seem to understand [or don't care about] the complex web of issues and events that result in violence.
They aren't capable of understanding the connection between poverty, disenfranchisement and violence. They will always be with us like a canker on the heart of enlightenment.
It's extremely harmful to democracy to label groups without consideration of the facts which create a whole picture. It's easy to label the unrest in France as being caused by Muslims. But that is as stupid as saying all people registered as Republican are right-wing-extremists.

AND (adding to my comment #52 --- "that is as stupid as saying all people registered as Republican are right-wing-extremists" ... ) as stupid as calling all people who are against the theo/fascist/neoCONS - Liberals.
But - it is plain to see part of what's driving the underlying current of unrest in France ... just google "Nicholas Sarkozy." You'll discover his policies mimic those of Chimpie Bushitler.
And REMEMBER --- there are still many, many people who live in the French Ghettos who are appalled at the rioting. Real grown-ups wouldn't label an entire segment of any population for the corruption and violence committed by the few.

Kira, I think you may have read the same or something similiar to what I read regarding France. The writer insinuating that the riots were being incited by the 'neocon' element of the government to bring France (under control...my words)... meaning fascist, as in Hitler/Bush.
I posted on another thread about the video that will be shown on satellite tv tomorrow nite by Italian TV, regarding the U.S. use of White phosphorus and MK 77 (a version of napalm). This was used the day following 2004 election, hours after Kerry succeeded, on the city of Fallujah. Orders were given to the military to wait until after the election. Code word for the wp is "Willy Pete".
Some smart computer person made it available in english. I watched it from a link at dailykos. I am downloading it. This stuff melts the bodies but does not burn clothing. The documentary is horrifying. The video link is posted under a diary by paper tigress. M4

"Democrats cleaned up big in off-year elections from New Jersey to California, sinking the candidate who embraced President Bush in the final days of the Virginia governor's campaign. They also turned back all four of GOP Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's efforts to reshape state government. " (link here).

Schwarzenegger ran up the tab $52.6 million more charged to the California Taxpayers for his partisan Special Election, which was actually held against a ruling that NO elections would be held until after the paper-printout feature was added to electronic machines.
What was the RUSH?
Counties in California are still waiting to be reimbursed for the $53 million spent on the 2003 election.
Tax & Spend Republicans.

Oops, left out that the paper-printout feature was to be installed in January of '06 (2 months away.)

Kira-san,
you're improving. you're citing evidence now at least but it's still not evidence that the "campaign event" was taxpayer funded. Keep up the good work. Mom and I are proud of you.

"nailed"?? You _still_ haven't supported your primary charge of taxpayers funding a partisan event. As to the security problems that were on this system, they've been over for weeks now. try again dollface.

Last communication, so enjoy it 'tard --- I don't waste my time with Losers like you.
For others ... prior to dumbya stealing the election of 2000, a governor of a state would not oust people of another political party from one of their pre-election rallies. There was no wristband cult behavior.
The governor of a state should represent the entire state, not just members of thir own party. What the Gropenator did by refusing admittance to Beatty and Bening just prior to a special election that cost ALL Californians $56 million dollars (an election that was heartily opposed by most Californians) is not acceptable. You betcha the folks of California paid for that rally --- all of them, not just the 'CONs.
This bushitler administration will go down likened to Soviet Russia and 1930s Germany and will stain the Republican party for many years hence.

you're slinging insane accusations(soviet russia - dubya has hardly anywhere near 30million victims even in your delusional world) but still avoiding the issue. Yes - he's the governor of all the people but this was a partisan rally - or so you say. Therefore your response is misleading, retarded and not to the point - for that tacit admission you've earned a prize:
