Just curious — I’m listening to music from the movie "Chocolate" Anybody else? It’s one of my favorite CDs and I keep wondering if my connection is gone and I’m hearing my own CD …

Oops! They’re back! Answers my question.

    Thanks for playing MY MUSIC!!!!!!

We’re on a new clock during the daytime! We’ve one additional break in there.

If you’re hearing the music, that’s our filler — breaks are approximately 4 to 5 minutes in length for our network IBC Satellite Radio! Be patient. I’m hearing it just fine. Hopefully, the problems at IBC can be worked out soon.

    Thanks,
    Kat

    Hey Everybody!

We are running a very simple setup down there at Camp Casey! They are streaming now! Just keep in mind the breaks at 16, 27, 46, and 57 minutes after each hour! There may be no music if you’re listening at the White Rose link. Is anyone having success at the IBC link?

Isn’t it great to have Joan Baez with us?! Great crowd down there —

Kat – I’m listening to White Rose link and I’ve got music !!!! The chosen "break" music for this Brad Show is one of my all-time favorite CDs from one of my all-time favorite movies Chocolat.

    With Johnny Depp

Chocolat (2000)/####/*** The arrival of a talented confectionery artist in a small staid town reawakens innocent sensuality and stimulates a civil rebellion. [Dir: Lasse Hallstršm/ Juliette Binoche, Alfred Molina, Judi Dench/ 121min/ Comedy, Romance/ Government Enforced Morality, Social Tolerance]

Depicted here, through dramatic events in a small French town, is the titanic struggle between moral authoritarianism and–chocolate.

    A sizzler of a movie!

    Ok — here’s adding to #21 re:bush’s approval rating:

    Pro-War Folks’ Attacks Show Desperation

ou have to read this article. The latest poll shows that only 26% fully support bu$h’s war in Iraq. Considering there are some pro-war Democrats & other non-Republicans, that means that FEWER than half the Republicansare standing with bu$h. Sing it out, folks!

    Pro-War Folks’ Attacks Show Desperation
John Nichols, Associate Editor of The Capital Times

[SNIP] … The rapidly dwindling minority of Americans who continue to search for some rationale for keeping U.S. troops in Iraq have been driven to the brink of breakdown by the success of Sheehan’s protest. Go to the Web site of William F. Buckley’s National Review magazine, and you will find Sheehan described in headlines as "nutty," dismissed by columnists as "the mouthpiece … of howling-at-the-moon, bile-spewing Bush haters" and accused of "sucking up intellectual air" that, presumably, would be better utilized by Condoleezza Rice explaining once more that it would be wrong to read too much into that Aug. 6, 2001, briefing document that declared: "Bin Laden determined to attack inside the U.S."

… What the pro-war crowd does not understand is that Cindy Sheehan is not inspiring opposition to the occupation. She is merely putting a face on the mainstream sentiments of a country that has stopped believing the president’s promises with regard to Iraq. According to the latest Newsweek poll, 61 percent of Americans disapprove of Bush’s handling of the war, while just 26 percent support the president’s argument that large numbers of U.S. military personnel should remain in Iraq for as long as it takes to achieve the administration’s goals there. You’re boring me with this stocks crap. Sounds like republican radio or something Brad.

Let me get this straight, you went to Crawford for what again? To report stocks to people online that can have it themselves with a few clicks?

I take it there’s NO ONE there you can chat live with then?

You want listeners? Give us something wiorth listening to. We have radio, we have stock reports what we do not have, are the voices of those IN CRAWFORD!

    Great idea, sorely misused.

    THE UTAH RAVE VIDEO
    Posted Aug 22, 2005 09:56 AM PST
    Category: DICTATORSHIP

I know I am asking to get hacked by posting this, but people need to copy this locally and share it with everyone they know. Those do NOT look like police officers beating up on the kids. And a source inside the Utah government reports that this action was undertaken out of fear that the Rave would be used to rally support for the protest against Bush’s Utah visit.

Is this enough? Need we wait to have another Kent State where American children are gunned down by other Americans in uniforms? Or can we finally see what this government has become?

Take a good look at this video. This is the image of the USA the rest of the world sees. This is the Neocon dream for America.

Is the land owner of Camp Casey 2 ok with the crowds – is the MSM still around? How was the reception for last night with Joan Baez? Is she still there?

Loved Steve Earle’s clip posted at truthout.org – we need more of this stuff..

Maybe someone can answer your questions — good ones, too.

So, bush is in Utah, today. Is he coming back to the ranch?

I’ve heard Cindy’s mother is better, and that she might be returning. (Anybody else heard this?)

Also — bush’s vacation is scheduled to go through 9/3 or 9/5. Will he brave the mean old Peace Activists or will he relocate?

    Hi, Kira #75

From the Salt Lake Tribune: "The president’s schedule called for him to depart Utah immediately following his VFW Convention appearance and head to the tiny town of Donnelly, Idaho, where he was to spend a couple of days mountain biking and relaxing prior to a speech Wednesday before a National Guard group in Nampa, Idaho."

This lazy man has had so much rest he makes me feel completely energized. He’s resting enough for the entire country to feel refreshed each day. Someone has suggested that he NEVER come back to work again. GREAT IDEA!

    Check this out:

    Police/National Guard raid Utah Party..

[snip] The helicopter dipped lower and lower and started shining its lights on the crowd. I was kind of in awe and just sat and watched this thing circle us for a minute. As I looked back towards the crowd I saw a guy dressed in camoflauge walking by, toting an assault rifle. At this point, everyone was fully aware of what was going on . A few "troops" rushed the stage and cut the sound off and started yelling that everyone "get the fuck out of here or go to jail". This is where it got really sticky.

No one resisted. That’s for sure. They had police dogs raiding the crowd of people and I saw a dog signal out a guy who obviously had some drugs on him. The soldiers attacked the guy (4 of them on 1), and kicked him a few times in the ribs and had their knees in his back and sides. As they were cuffing him, there was about 1000 kids trying to leave in the backdrop, peacefully. Next thing I know, A can of fucking TEAR GAS is launched into the crowd. People are running and screaming at this point. Girls are crying, guys are cussing… bad scene.

Now, this is all I saw with my own eyes, but I heard plenty of other accounts of the night. Now this isnt gossip I heard from some candy raver, these are instances cited straight out of the promoters mouth..

    – One of the promoters friends (a very small female) was attacked by one of the police dogs. As she struggled to get away from it, the police tackled her. 3 grown men proceeded to KICK HER IN THE STOMACH.

    – The police confiscated 3 video tapes in total. People were trying to document what was happening out there. The police saw one guy filming and ran after him, tackled him and his camera fell, and luckily.. his friend grabbed it and ran and got away. priceless footage. That’s not all though. Out of 1,500 people, there’s sure to be more footage.

    – The police were rounding up the staff of the party and the main promoter went up to them with the permit for the show and said "here, I have the permit." The police then said, "no you don’t" and ripped the permit out of his hand. Then, they put an assault rifle to his forehead and said "get the fuck out of here right now." [end snip]

We stand for Peace — trying every alternative and going through the UN before going to war — and going to war is a LAST resort. We believe in honoring the Geneva Convention because we don’t believe in torture as a good method for extracting good information. We believe in True Family Values, not the hateful rhetoric in the current MSM Republican Spinmeisters. We stand for conservative behavior on those lines — not the extremist right wing rhetoric of the current Republican Party in power today.

I went to Crawford on Saturday and was moved to tears by the sight of the memorial crosses that Mr. Northern ran over with his truck.

After gazing at them for a couple of moments, a woman about ten feet away from us stood back from one of crosses, turned to us with anguish in her face and said, "That’s my boy right there!", before turning away in tears.

    That was tough.

It was such a strange feeling, being so close to the home base of the Evil One, who was riding around his ranch that day with Lance Armstrong. We’re going back again this weekend if possible, just to add a couple more bodies to the event.

It is my sincerest hope that all of the Democrats and Progressives—and all the moms, especially—who are rallying around this moment will read James Kroeger’s The Republican Nemesis.

Maybe then we’ll all be able to get on the same page in taking on our clever and manipulative foe.

I was in tears during the interview with Lynn. I thought that Brad was having a hard time holding his emotions together at the end of the show, and that was only to his credit, and very appropriate (not exactly the right word, sorry, ..sympatico?) given that it was a very moving, honest interview.

A Presidential spokesman said that given the Commander-in-Chief’s limited work schedule and attention span, he would not have time to see Mrs. Sheehan. However, a place in the schedule had to be made for Mr. Armstrong because the celebrity peddler, like the President, has several major corporate sponsors with urgent needs

Winter: Can you do a blog on the guerillas with assault rifles who busted the kids at a concert? #97. Those video images are very disturbing. We can’t let them get away with this! We need photos plastered over the internet — images could be taken from the video.

    Disgusting!

Nana where did I condon anything having to do with children? :O

You missed my point. It’s fine to talk with this (I stand corrected) home schooled girl. I have no problem with that.

Do we have the time for that type of interview though?

I sure hope she grows up well despite what her former gov now president does, but I thought the idea was to get the word out to make things change for the better?

I thought what I heard from todays show was good. And there should be much more of it too!

But we need to hear more from middle America. We as middle America need to stand up and be heard loud and clear.

I’d like to se more politicians down there. Or at least have Brad get them on the phone or something.

This child did sound very smart and on top of whats going on, but she’s not of voting age yet is she? Can she change the future? We all hope so. Can she help us right now get out of this mess before it’s too late?

    I doubt that.

Keep it going Brad, good job!

I’m sure that Brad will have a good mix of guests, as he always does.

I saw (heard) the interview with Samantha in a different light.

I see mostly indifference/ ignorance about Iraq and politics among college students (my turf). Is it because their butts aren’t on the line/ in the lottery for the draft, as was the case back in my college days?

I found it refreshing and encouraging to hear Samantha’s sentiments. Yeah, she’s a kid, not even of voting age, but she’s got parents, who presumably are. The "Samanthas" help get the word out to others of her own age, who, hopefully, will start asking their parents "Why are we in Iraq", if they haven’t already.

    Look out!! Here they come!!!

Bush Backers Amass to Counter ‘Peace Mom’

All 30 of them! It amazes me how these folks think Cindy is disrespecting the soldiers.

I feel she is giving them every bit of respect they deserve by demanding a reason that they are sacrificeing so much.

A friend of mine was in the 101st Calvery during the initial invasion. Fortunatly he made it through without being injured – physicaly anyway, psychologicaly could take some time to know for sure.

On his first leave he came home proclaiming that we were only in it for the oil! He was quite distraught over that conclusion.

Thanks again for all your hard work Brad.

Did you guys here about the private goons who came into a Utah rave and viciously attacked the teens and twentysomethings? Apparently these guys claimed to be "secret service." These are the same goons who forced the Denver 3 out of the Bush Social Security Bamboozle for having a "No war for oil" bumper sticker. The guy over at WhatReallyHappened.com got a video clip of it. Straight busted this time. Caught on tape! Stay tuned, this could be huge. Whatreallyhappened.com is already getting DOS attacks. Anyone else notice the huge increase in DOS hack attacks hitting liberal and alternative media websites the past two months? It’s really been bad. This smells like a coordinated effort. Probably AEI or Heritage Foundation.

    THE UTAH RAVE VIDEO

    Category: DICTATORSHIP

UPDTAE: Sorry folks, I had to remove these video files because my server was getting slammed by someone requesting the video file over and over and over. Those who did succeed in getting it downloaded (and there are copies springing up all over now) please share the file.

    Hopefuly it will resurface.

While there I came across this story:

    You’re welcome.

Have a good evening, it’s time to go home now for me.

I can’t wait – should have dsl up and running at home soon. Then I won’t have to stay late at work to check out the blogs etc.

I’ll be linking my home email to my name at that time in case any of the 6 or 7 want to correspond or know more about me.

If anyone comes across a link for the Salt Lake City party raid post it here. (That’s party raid not panty raid!)

Just checked out your blogspot link. Great reading, and I bookmarked it.

So you’re and LA DJ? Interesting. How did you find Brad Blog?

Some links to the Utah rave story were posted earlier on this thread. I tried to check it out via Google. I found the comments from folks there, and the "official view", but not too much else. Conflicting info about permits, etc., but no hard info about ACLU suit, etc. mentioned earlier.

    Keep us posted.

A little more sensitivity is order when speaking to or about children. Don’t you think she read this thread to see what a ‘good job’ she did? You were mean and it was uncalled for.

And Chuck, I don’t give a damn about votes right now .

And I ALWAYS make time to talk with children, and to listen to what they say.

Try it, they are very honest and wise.

    Just had to stop back.

Here is another link to the party video thanks to DailyKos:

    Facism in Utah

    This is unf*ckin’ real!

These guys are in full military outfits, flack jackets and all.

I think the video may be from the camera which a friend of the photographer’s managed to get away with as mentioned in the earlier story. It ends with someone shouting to put down the camera and ends with a blur.

Hell I was involved in the takeover of my College’s ROTC offices in ’69 and all we had to contend with were the campus police who actualy helped us out on a few occasions with food and drink.

    Guess I’m dating myself there!

Thanks for the info about Powell/’s. Your 70s time in Powell’s sounds like heaven to me. I’d love to be able to hang out in a bookstore with cats. I’ve not been to any of the current stores, as I’m now a coast away, alas. Do they have cats too?

All of my Powell’s purchases have been made online, and that’s always my first stop for books, new or used. They have great customer service, and even though I interact online, it still feels "personal" when I make purchases.

Again, thanks for making it possible for me to hear the Brad Show.

Actualy I believe it started before that. My 18th birthday was in Nov ’67 and my draft physical was shortly after that – spring of ’98 I believe. I already had a very low lottery number at that time – like 26 or so. They were calling up to 200 something.

The scene at the physical was very similar to that in Alice’s Restaurant. There were quite a few who spontaniously chose to disobay the personel. They would tell us to sit and face the front of the room. We would face the back. Things like that.

Fortunatly I had severe childhood asthma which gave me a 1Y keeping me out. They say stress can bring on an attack. Although it still flares up from time to time, my last major attack requiring emergency medical intervention was 2 days before my physical.
