And the fascist still does not get it. He is asking for more intrusion by the so-called "Patriot" Act (link here).
Perhaps he is going for the record of being the most clueless president ever?
Americans do not like fascism ... someone tell the MSM.

Yikes, it looks like my portfolio in 2000!!
As Bush sinks, so will the GOP in '06. I wait for the next "amazing" find in Iraq to help bolster the polls. This has been the pattern, and I'm sure will continue to be the pattern right up unitl Nov, '06.
This most recent 500,000 sq. foot underground bunker certainly yielded very little arms, info, or evidence of anything else.
Huh? What was that? Oh, that noise was the shattering of the GOP!

Ratings are low, "let" some plains fly into buildings and he's up. Ratings are low claim you found Saddam (which he didn't he bought him from the Kurds...why didn't the media cover that?)
What's not mentioned were his increase pattern of increasing the threat alerts everytime it was needed prior to the election. That idiot (his name blew out of my head, must be hot air he's made of) that just left confirmed the Whitehouse made him call high alerts when he didn't feel it was warranted.

Just imagine how low he'd have been (after all those big downward trends) if there hadn't been an upward spike on 9/11 or the capture of Saddam. Actually, his approval would've been way down where most of us Libs think he belongs --- in Crawford Texas.

Yes, Bush is a loser, he always was, and always will be. The Republicans who put him in office are totally corrupt idiots. I hope Americans can get some clever and DECENT people in office soon. God bless America!

Did anyone bring up the point, that Bush's well-below 40% approval rating, is further proof that the vote was hacked???

There are alot of things to talk about in this story. Obviuosly the soldiers are resentful of the mercenarys pay. Maybe also their better equipment.
The soldiers do know their vets benefits were cut by congress.
Support our troops! Cut their pay!!

Can anyone say "political defibrillator"? God, that man's greatest moments are our nation's worst. What does that say about the man's Presidential record?

With such low numbers, you'd think we could have some very big marches in support of a more positive and peaceful future.

Four years later, and I still can't figure it out. How on earth can it be that suffering a major terrorist attack can make the president's approval rating go UP??????
What exactly did people think he was doing a good job at?

Interesting how ABC/WP and Gallup consistently overestimate the "approval" of Bush throughout.
Importantly, the larger "support" can probably all be explained by the events of 9/11 and not the man.
I think at the time (9/11), people hurt, hurt bad. A nation grieving. Basically this graph is a 9/11 psychological measure not a Bush approval measure. That confound should be clear to any analyst. Never make a decision when under duress - including answering a phone poll. I think we all pretty much come together when it comes to catastrophic events such as 9/11.
Still, it's the fact that approval is lower now than before 9/11 is pretty damn telling.
So, how will Bush define this mandate?

What I worry about is what new event will the Neocons running things come up with to really get those numbers back up there. I mean just look at that approval rating after 9/11, Rove must be licking his chops to get up there again. For those of us with a healthy questioning attitude that link the goals of the New Amercian Century guys with the events on 9/11 I have to think what will they do next? Please listen for a few minutes and see if it makes sense to you: http://www.911blogger.co...-griffin-in-madison.html
Maybe they can make some bad thing happen in Vegas the capital of sin (the christian conservatives might enjoy that) or maybe San Francisico with all those homos. That will bring us sheep into line again and roll over for the rest of his agenda of American Empire.

CC @14
That's been my question too!
Best I can figbure is that he was good at ignoring warnings, good at going on vacation for a month, good at staying in school (reading pet goat stories), good at getting AF 1 to Omaha, good at getting his picture taken talking 'heroically' on the phone, good at standing on smoldering ashes of the Towers with a bullhorn-a day late,
Now if that's not enough let's toss in a few socks into his jock strap.
Maybe, sniff sniff, I'm overlooking something?
