I love Tom Tomorrow - If we con't pay him any heed, we have no one to blame tomorrow but ourselves, tomorrow...

Kira said "it does bear repeating!" I presume she is also referring to the fact that this was the very same Tom Tomorrow cartoon that was posted last Sunday!! What about this weeks cartoon?

Say ... anyone hear the rumor Gannon/Gucket is HIV+?
Someone else mentioned a security tape at the White House is missing and he's on it?

#4 hahaha! I love re-runs & puns.
Umm...speaking of re-runs, something a little weird happened on the Daily Show a few days ago. I wonder if anyone else thought so...
Jon showed a clip of two talking heads, one a conservative who made the absurd claim that there was a study showing that "children raised in gay households are 11 times more likely to be sexually abused" and Jon did his incredulous bit, saying "to" the anchors "Why don't you CALL them on their bullshit?!"...ok, that was fine, it was funny....but then his guest, I think it was Floyd Abrams?) was talking about First Amendment rights & made the comment that (I'm paraphrasing) "...no one today, though, even this administration, is infringing on people's freedom-of-expression rights..." and Jon just let it go, said NOTHING. So I yelled at my television: "What? Hello? After people have been kicked out of schools & out of these fake-town-hall-meetings for wearing the wrong tee-shirt or having the wrong bumper sticker on their car?!" (to which my television, maddeningly, also said nothing) I mean, the irony was deafening.
Ok, I'm getting to the re-run part. The next night I wanted to tape the re-run. Same show, same talking heads, same incredulous Jon...only after the break, it was a different guest.
So I guess my point is: evidently the irony was not lost on whoever made the decision to lose Floyd Abrams! and I'm creeped out that they did that.
Not to mention that Bill Maher had "Jeff Gannon" on Real Time & didn't call HIM on the fact that he blithely called himself a journalist. Since when is Maher so deferential? Here I thought Stewart & Maher were members in good standing of the vast left-wing conspiracy. I don't think they're reading the handbook properly.

Hi Steve! Yup, that's what I meant. And I agree with Czaragorn.
Cute, Nana!

I know this is beyond obvious, but the contrast between Republicans' self-righteous outrage over Bill & Monica, and Republicans' nonchalant compacency over a male prostitute with a fake name posing as a journalist & traipsing in & out of the White House 200 times in two years.....is pretty freakin mind-boggling.
Boy, down the road, this is gonna make one hell of a mini-series.

Joan #10 - you left out the part about the male prostitute having several x-rated porn-pix of himself on the Internets. Surely that piece alone rates a couple of episodes.
Also, the impeachment process was set into motion over a lie about a personal discretion. One that would have had absolutely no impact on the security of America. Compare that with the giant shitpile of lies told by bu$hco that have taken thousands to their graves with no end in sight.

Oooooh, Kira! I was trying to exit on a happier note, haha! but how about calling this mini-series "The Rise & Fall of Beelzebush"? (love that name, which I stole from a previous thread)
I especially like the "Fall" part.

Oh, and my thoughts on the cartoon --- we ARE VAST. I just wish there was some way to get a confirmation on every person who voted (or TRIED TO VOTE) for Kerry. It would blow the whole charade apart.
But Tom Tomorrow nailed it.

Joan #6 I don't have a TV anymore but I like it that you are astute enough to notice that TV programs can be cut, spliced, pasted, and morphed. Like all audio/visual media.
I am creeped out about that too. The Matrix I movie shows us the extreme to which this can go.
Every once in awhile we need to remember the old saying "Don't believe anything you hear and believe on half what you see".
Of course that was a saying before the advent of digital world ... so the updated saying is "Anything recorded and prepared for you to hear or see can be manipulated - so beware of all media and double check everything".

I thought the Real Time interveiw with Gannon/Gucket was a real dud. Bill didn't ask Gannon any "hard" questions.

I wonder about Bill Maher. He's obviously a smart guy, but sometimes he says things that just make me crazy. And anyone who is a "buddy" of Ann Coulter, as he has claimed to be, has to have an ethical screw loose, in my humble opinion.
Dredd #16,
Ah, the Matrix, one of my all-time favorites. I've always thought it was kind of a film equivalent of the spiritual idea of "maya", but Beelzebush (apologies, whoever I pinched that from) & friends are doing a powerful job of fabricating a government version: interlocking webs of unrelenting propaganda that a whole lot of people are stuck in.
Somebody should make a horror movie....Bush, Cheney, Rove, O'Reilly, Limbaugh....as giant spiders creeping and spinning and sucking the country dry....
Oh wait...we're IN that movie......

Whoops...Posted the wrong toon. But after Winter Patriot's bizarro followup post, I think I'll leave it as is
Things have been too neat around here as is.
Back in the game in a few days folks. Then back out for a few more days. But then back in for good for a while! One hopes!
Lotsa fun stuff rolling in the background. To be posted/revealed here in it's due time...
