Palm Beach Paper Says FBI Agent Attempted to Clear GOP Pundit, BRAD BLOG Guest Blogger Said to be Reason for Fraudulent Info Given on FLVoter Registration Form, Driver's License!
Conservative Coulter Critic Borchers Responds; Says Her '98-'99 Boyfriend Has Been 'Her Personal FBI Resource for Her Own Purposes'...
By Brad Friedman on 5/11/2007 12:00pm PT

The Ann Coulter Voter Fraud case, which we've been covering for more than a year (see our Special Coverage Page here, including her fraudulent Voter Registration Form, the complaint that started it all, and much more) has taken several bizarre twists this morning as Palm Beach Post columnist Jose Lambiet once again steps up with several fresh scoops in the matter, and The BRAD BLOG, who, as of today's article, has now become a corollary in the story, has an exclusive detail or two of our own to offer on the heels of this morning's Post report.

First, Lambiet reports that the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office, which had been investigating the matter, has closed the case after an FBI agent interceded on Coulter's behalf. The PBSO had been investigating Coulter's fraudulent, knowing use of the wrong address on her voter registration form, a third-degree felony, and the fact that she subsequently, knowingly voted at the wrong precinct.

Second, the reason offered by the FBI man for Coulter's use of a phony address on her form --- actually that of her Palm Beach County real estate agent --- was because of claims that she was being "stalked" by a conservative BRAD BLOG guest blogger!

After the FBI intercession, as Lambiet reports, the PBSO investigator shut down the probe "without interviewing Coulter; a Realtor, whose Indian Road address Coulter used [on her fraudulent voter registration form]; or neighbors of Coulter's Seabreeze homestead."

The BRAD BLOG has previously shown that, in fact, Coulter had knowingly lied on her voter registration form, signing next to an "oath" swearing that "All information on this form is true" and that she understood "if it is not true, I can be convicted of a felony of the third degree and fined up to $5,000 and/or imprisoned for up to five years."

Once the issue was reported originally by Lambiet, Coulter went about lying about it to the media and at public appearances, claiming she didn't even live in Florida, as Michelle Pilecki, who picked up on Lambiet's item today, had previously reported at Huffington Post. Nonetheless, property records and other evidence we've published at The BRAD BLOG, including an affidavit from Republican poll worker James Whited, show conclusively that Coulter lied on her voter registration form, and then knowingly committed voter fraud when she voted at the wrong precinct in 2006.

"We stand by our detective's work," a PBSO spokesman told Lambiet in today's report. "Based on the nature of the allegations, she did as much as she could."

But this gets a lot more bizarre, so keep reading...

* * *

The BRAD BLOG spoke this morning with the "stalker" in question, as named by Lambiet, longtime Coulter critic, and founder of Citizens for Principled Conservatism, Dan Borchers, who tells us that "Ann Coulter used a false allegation as a 'get out of jail free card'" on her voter fraud charges.

He also tells us something that Lambiet didn't mention in his report: The FBI man in question, Supervisory Special Agent Jim Fitzgerald, was Coulter's former boyfriend!

Lambiet, who spoke with Borchers for his piece, didn't report that allegation, but hinted that something wasn't adding up in Fitzgerald's intercession in the matter. He wonders why an FBI profiler from the FBI Academy's Behavioral Analysis Unit in Quantico, VA, "who went after the Unabomber [would] take time from his busy day to even think about a municipal election snafu?"

Fitzgerald wouldn't reply to Lambiet, but he reports that after the Post contacted the bureau for comment on the matter, the FBI "immediately launched an internal review of the agent's involvement."

"We're looking into it," bureau spokeswoman Ann Todd said.

She declined to say whether Fitzgerald acted on his personal behalf or as an FBI agent or on someone else's orders.
...
County Supervisor of Elections Arthur Anderson, meanwhile, decried what he called "FBI intrusion."
...
"This doesn't bode well in terms of the public's impression that celebrities receive preferential treatment," Anderson said. "I'm curious about how anyone can justify the FBI's intrusion."

Anderson and Lambiet aren't the only ones dubious about the FBI's intervention on behalf of Coulter or the excuse that a "stalker" led her to use her realtor's address on her voter registration form....

Recently Released Conference Video Collections Omit Addresses by Rightwing Controversialist
Has the Republican Superstar Finally Become a Pariah for the Right?
By Daniel Borchers on 5/1/2007 4:05am PT

Guest Blogged by Daniel Borchers of Citizens for Principled Conservatism

"Has Ann Coulter reached her tipping point?"

That question has been repeatedly asked since her latest infamy at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC, March 2) and Reclaiming America for Christ Conference (RAC, March 3).

Recent Coulter no-shows at high-profile events and the scrubbing of several of her recent appearances from the video collections of conservative events seems to suggest the Republican superstar could finally be in her "last throes."

The tipping point question begs the fence-sitting answer: When will conservatives make a choice and stand for principles? Are they, or are they not, Ann Coulter Conservatives? If not, why is she still among us at all?

Does Coulter represent conservatives or not? Is she a serious political and moral authority or merely an entertainer? Which is it? And why, oh why, is she held to lower standards than anyone else?

As the Wall Street Journal observed in 2002:

Miss Coulter's very survival as a public figure has been her most startling trick, indeed has offered a kind of breathtaking spectacle. For much milder remarks than she daily defiantly serves up, we've seen veteran broadcasters hounded out of their careers. – Melik Kaylan, “Dr. Johnson, Meet Ann Coulter,” WSJ, 8/26/02

Coulter seems to believe she rests secure as a celebrated conservative icon. In the immediate wake of her CPAC and RAC comments, Coulter laughed off concerns that her latest offensive statements would have any affect on her Republican celebrity stature, when she asserted on Fox News' Hannity & Colmes: "This is my 17th allegedly career-ending moment."

Why is Coulter so certain of her solid position as a mainstay and opinion leader in the conservative movement? Is it merely bombast or does her boast have merit? An exchange on C-Span’s Washington Journal is revealing. A caller questioned David Keene, the person with the final say on all things related to CPAC...

Fox 'News' Invites Us Onto 'Fox & Friends' to Talk About It...
By Brad Friedman on 4/24/2007 11:48am PT

"When it Rains, it Pours" Week continues here at The BRAD BLOG...

Widely syndicated columnist Liz Smith, in the New York Post today and elsewhere (her column runs in at least 70 papers), picks up on Joe Conason's NY Observer piece from last week which pointed to our coverage of the Ann Coulter Voter Fraud issue.

In the bargain, a Fox & Friends producer has called me today to see if I might be available to appear on their show to discuss it tomorrow or the following morning (which would be about 3am or 5am my time, so if I do it, watch for the sleepless bags under my eyes...anything for Election Integrity). The producer explained that Coulter might appear after me via phone. I suggested she appear either before, or preferably at the same time, so she's not allowed to, um, say things that aren't true, as occurred last time she was asked about all of this on FNC.

As FNC tends to be, um, Ann Coulter friendly, we'll have to see if she has veto power enough to ensure I never actually get to appear to discuss it. But we'll see.

Anyway, here's Liz today:

COULD THE sexy but controversial conservative gadfly Ann Coulter go to jail? According to Observer columnist Joe Conason - Ann is guilty of voter fraud. He says when the far-right Coulter registered to vote in Palm Beach back in 2005, she wrote her address as her Realtor's office. She then signed the form despite its warning that falsifying any information on it makes one liable to felony prosecution.

Palm Beach County election officials say she also voted in the wrong precinct the following year, disregarding a poll worker who explained her error. (You can see this registration form online at bradblog.com.) Conason says those acts are crimes punishable by prison terms of up to five years and that Coulter is an attorney who knew what she was doing. Ann, with typical restraint, has called Palm Beach officials "syphilitic and mentally defective" but has stonewalled the ongoing investigation into the matter.

No charges have yet been filed.

Of course, you can read more about it, including perusing documents such as her fraudulent voter registration form and the report from the poll worker demonstrating she knowingly voted at the wrong precinct last year, via our "Ann Coulter Voter Fraud" Special Coverage page.

Good luck, Ann. Though it's taken over a year for the rest of the national media to catch on, you may finally be busted. At least in the media.

UPDATE: 3:19pm PT Heard back from Fox, who reports they "just spoke to Ann and she is unavailable tomorrow AM," so they probably won't be covering it tomorrow. Have a feeling Ann will be unavailable every AM to talk about this one. Hope they'll cover the story anyway, as I'm happy to stay up all night to help them.

Queen of Elimination Rhetoric, Hate Speech Joins 'Conservative' Presidential Candidate on the Dais...
By Brad Friedman on 4/20/2007 12:41pm PT

Guest Blogged by Daniel Borchers of Citizens for Principled Conservatism

Controversialist Ann Coulter, legendary for her hate speech and elimination rhetoric (see just a few of her most notorious greatest "hits" in the chart below), is a featured speaker at tonight's New Jersey Right to Life (NJRTL) Banquet. That’s right, an advocate for death is a spokesman for life.

Presidential candidate Sam Brownback (R-KS) and Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ), among others, will be sharing the dais with Coulter.

Despite Coulter controversies just last month at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, DC, and at the Reclaiming America for Christ (RAC) Conference in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, NJRTL still prominently features conservatism’s most prominent polemicist.

Ann Coulter at CPAC 2006:

“I think our motto should be post-9-11, ‘raghead talks tough, raghead faces consequences.'“

(Responding to a question from a Catholic University student about her biggest moral or ethical dilemma) “There was one time I had a shot at Clinton. I thought 'Ann, that's not going to help your career.'“

If we find out someone [referring to a terrorist] is going to attack the Supreme Court next week, can't we tell Roberts, Alito, Thomas and Scalito?

Ann Coulter at the Reclaiming America for Christ Conference in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, 3/3/07.

“I spoke at CPAC yesterday, and I [took questions] about Obama and Hillary and Gore and global warming, and I said I was going to also have a few remarks about the other Democratic presidential candidate, John Edwards, but apparently you have to go to rehab if you use the word ‘faggot.’

Those few abortionists were shot, or, depending on your point of view, had a procedure with a rifle performed on them. I'm not justifying it, but I do understand how it happened....The number of deaths attributed to Roe v. Wade - about 40 million aborted babies and seven abortion clinic workers; 40 million to seven is also a pretty good measure of how the political debate is going.”

I contacted both Sen. Brownback and Rep. Smith. Neither deigned to address, or even respond, to my concerns over their tacit endorsement of Ann Coulter’s views, despite my having written them to explain that…

Democrats Are Sent to Jail for Accidental Incidents, While Coulter Roams Free Despite Clear Felonious Intent...
By Brad Friedman on 4/18/2007 5:52pm PT

For those linking in from Joe Conason's NY Observer column today on the GOP's phony "voter fraud" claims in general, and the very real voter fraud committed by Republican celebrity Ann Coulter... Here's our Special Coverage page on Coulter's felony, which offers a great deal of documentation, including her felonious Florida Voter Registration Application from 2005.

You'll certainly find what you're looking for quicker than Palm Beach County's Election Supervisor has been able to find a law enforcement official in Florida willing to bring charges against the powerful Republican, despite the dead-to-rights evidence against her.

Color us stunned that George W. Bush's U.S. Attorney down there hasn't found fit to bring a case, since we all know how eager they were to send Democrats to jail (or even deport them) for such things --- even when the "crime" was accidentally committed...unlike the clearly purposeful and fraudulent efforts of Coulter.

True Conservative, Guest Blogger Daniel Borchers, on Coulter's Fall from Grace, Her Continued Discrediting of the Conservative Movement, and His Experience With her Thugs at CPAC...
By Daniel Borchers on 3/15/2007 12:49pm PT

Guest blogged by Daniel Borchers of Citizens for Principled Conservatism

Ann Coulter exceeded expectations at this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the nation’s largest annual gathering of conservatives. Coulter’s potty-mouth once again scandalized the conference, upstaging presidential candidates and political leaders alike. Coulter’s rabid rhetoric took many by surprise as she said:

“I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate, John Edwards, but it turns out that you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot,’ so [gasps, laughter, applause] so I’m kind of at an impasse, can’t really talk about Edwards.”
Ann Coulter, CPAC, 3/2/07

Every year, Coulter’s vicious words overshadow the theme and tone of CPAC, but this time Coulter personally felt the heat for her venomous folly. At least eight newspapers have dropped Coulter’s syndicated column, her website has lost advertising revenue, and at last count 43 conservative bloggers have written an open letter protesting the keynote speech.

To prevent her career from totally bottoming out, the October release of Coulter’s sixth book was promptly announced. Will her efforts at damage control, sans apology, actually work? Cynicism suggests, yes. ...

'Conservative' Bloggers Call on CPAC to Exclude Ann Coulter, But Give Themselves a Pass for Enabling Her For Years
The Sad, Discredited Republican Clown's Long Documented History of Vile Hate Speech and Rhetoric Conveniently Ignored by Newly Converted 'Conservatives' Only Now Declaring 'the Age of Ann Has Passed'
By Brad Friedman on 3/5/2007 2:13pm PT

Credentialed "Conservative" bloggers from last weekend's CPAC have created a petition calling for "speaking invitations [to] no longer be extended to Ann Coulter" at the conference.

They declare that "the Age of Ann has passed."

You'll pardon us if we're less than impressed by the call. The "Age of Ann" has been in full swing for years, in no small part, due to folks like the ones signed onto this "open letter," and only now that she's uttered a line that even they can't apologize for --- in calling John Edwards a "faggot" --- are they hoping to protect themselves by disassociating.

Where were they after she referred to Arabs as "ragheads" at last years conference and joked about "taking a shot" at killing Bill Clinton?

Or when she joked about assassinating Justice John Paul Stevens? Blowing up the NY Times building? Bludgeoning Democrats with baseball bats? And claiming that 9/11 widows were "enjoying" their husbands' deaths?

Where were they when Coulter posted the private, unpublished family phone number of BRAD BLOG Guest Blogger Lydia Cornell in retaliation for our having posted her responsible, journalistic article which was critical of Coulter? (Coulter was able to run Lydia's phone number on the front page of her website for days, since Lydia mistakenly offered her the courtesy of commenting on the charges prior to running the article and so had emailed her private phone number to make responding easy. The death threats and visits to Lydia's house received in return thereafter, we suppose, are thanks for that professional courtesy.)

In February of 2006, The BRAD BLOG posted a short video, revealing Coulter's long-documented record of hate-speech, as compiled by a true conservative, Daniel Borchers of Citizens for Principled Conservatism. Prior to that, in 2005, we posted his Powerpoint presentation documenting her hypocritical claims of "Christian Values." Borchers has been calling on conservatives to rid the poison that is Coulter from their movement for years, long before it's now gotten so hot that these "conservative" bloggers have little choice but to do so in order to save themselves.

All throughout, these phonies have been welcoming her, and apologizing for her, as one of the GOP's top draws at political fund raisers from coast to coast.

Where are the mea culpas from these newly-ashamed "conservative" bloggers for having given Coulter a pass themselves all of these years? Why is it that they've suddenly discovered Christian and/or Family and/or Human Values? Will they be issuing their own apologies for enabling such a vile person for so long?

And while we're at it --- since it's been shown, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Coulter committed felony Voter Fraud down in Florida, will these "law and order conservatives" be condemning her for that as well? Even while they support legislation supposedly meant to curb such fraud (but in actuality devised solely to help keep legally-registered voters away from the polls)?

Somehow, we doubt it.

The Hate-Monger, Apparent Vote Fraud Felon Continues her Pathetic Downward Spiral Today in D.C. at CPAC...
By Brad Friedman on 3/2/2007 5:51pm PT

In her increasingly embarrassing and desperate downward spiral, Ann Coulter, the once-respected "conservative" pundit, continues to morph into obnoxious circus clown. Kinda ala Don Rickles. Save for the funniness.

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) superstar, hate-monger --- and apparent vote fraud felon --- let fly with these gems in her packed headliner speech at the conference today, where she continues to retain her rock star status:

"What's Al Gore up to these days? Four hundred pounds....Did Al Gore actually swallow Michael Moore?"
...
"Obama is half-white and half-black....Clinton was half-white, half-trash."
...
"I was going to have a few comments about John Edwards but you have to go into rehab if you use the word faggot." (laughter, applause, cheers, whistles from the crowd)

Nice.

Hard to say whether it's an improvement over last year's Coulter CPAC speech:

"I think our motto should be post-9-11, 'raghead talks tough, raghead faces consequences.'" (followed by a boisterous ovation)

And on killing Bill Clinton, in response to a question from a Catholic University student about her biggest moral or ethical dilemma:

"There was one time I had a shot at Clinton. I thought 'Ann, that's not going to help your career.'"

We guess she feels that calling John Edwards a "faggot" will help her career. Judging from some of her fans, she may be right.

Apparently "hate" is a Conservative Family Value. Who knew?

(Hat-tip to RAW STORY who has more details and a video clip...)

At The BRAD BLOG we prefer a splash of snark with our morning coffee (helps take the edge off), and today we are pleased to direct your attention to a veritable feast of snark with a big dollop of snotty on the side, courtesy of the fine folks at The BEAST.

They've graciously offered a list of their favorites for The 50 Most Loathsome People in America, whose loathsome-osity crossed that invisible barrier of taste and public tolerance to STFU status (in their opinion) in the preceeding year. Among so many prospects, how do they manage to limit it to just fifty? Sad to say that we were unaware of The Beast's compilations in previous years, but we look forward to catching up. Snark is a dish that never gets cold.

While we heartily disagree with some of their choices (would you expect anything less?), these are a smattering of our favorites, including Limbaugh, Abramoff, Coulter, Bush...

New Third Degree Felony for Fraudulently Registering Driver's License Added to Previous Allegations of Voter Fraud!
But Palm Beach Election Supervisor Having Trouble Finding Law Enforcement Agency to Bring Charges...
By Brad Friedman on 1/11/2007 4:08pm PT

We gave her a few months off while we covered more pressing items to our nation, but it looks like the troubles are still far from over for right-wing demagogue/hate-monger turned felonious vote fraudster Ann Coulter.

Palm-Beach Post's Jose Lambiet, who originally broke the story a year or so ago, has another scoop today on the matter and The BRAD BLOG has now obtained the documents on which his scoop is based.

Lambiet's item today covers PB County Supervisor of Elections Arthur Anderson's difficulty in finding a local law enforcement agency with the stones --- or at least, the jurisdiction --- to take on the hypocritical pundit even though a police report completed in late November, requested by Anderson, indicates that Coulter could be facing two third degree felony charges, along with one first degree misdemeanor, if charged.

Newly added to the previously known allegations of Voter Fraud --- when Coulter used her realtor's address instead of her own on her Voter Registration Application --- is the allegation by the Palm Beach Police Department that Coulter seems to also have given that same, incorrect address when applying for a driver's license after moving to the tony Sunshine State 'hood, where her fellow GOP propagandist Rush Limbaugh has recently had his own troubles following the rule of law.

The allegation concerning Driver's License Fraud would be yet another third degree felony, according to the Palm Beach Police Department report!

The BRAD BLOG has obtained the complete PBPD report (linked below), summarized by Lambiet as revealing that Coulter "could end up charged with: one felony count for signing a voter form claiming she lived at her Realtor's Indian Road home instead of her Seabreeze Avenue homestead; one felony count for 'unauthorized possession of a driver's license,' also for providing the same wrong address when obtaining her license; and a misdemeanor for knowingly voting in the wrong precinct."

Lambiet reports that Anderson has been making the rounds seeking a law enforcement outlet with the proper jurisdiction since, he says, the PB County Supervisor of Elections office is "not an investigative agency" and given that there has been "significant interest from the community" in seeing the matter addressed. But, so far, Florida authorities have yet to touch the case. According to Lambiet...

In November, the gangly Anderson went to the town's police department. But Palm Beach's Finest weren't interested.

And Tuesday, Anderson met with a sheriff's deputy. PBSO will get back to him.

He could end up having to take it up with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Why's Anderson making those rounds? Because he was told that State Attorney Barry Krischer — a Democrat whose recent attempt to prosecute another conservative pundit, Rush Limbaugh, for alleged doctor shopping, went limp — needs police action before he brings formal charges.

Catch-22, anyone?

The three-page Palm Beach Police Department November report, and the accompanying one-page December letter to Anderson from Chief of Police Michael S. Reiter, detailing Coulter's apparent felonies and misdemeanor, is available right here...

Rightwing Extremist/Hate-Monger Refused to Cooperate in Probe or Follow Rule of Law...
By Brad Friedman on 11/1/2006 5:52pm PT

We've had some documents from Coulter's attorney concerning the below for some time, but we haven't been able to find a second to run them. Just too much going on. So for now, I'll let AP pick up the ball for the moment. Besides, it's embarrassing for them that I keep beating them to so many stories! ;-)

A search for "Ann Coulter Voter Fraud" (yes, voter fraud, the kind the Republicans say is rampant, despite evidence suggesting that it's election fraud that's the real problem) here at The BRAD BLOG will yield loads of previous coverage on this story, including an actual copy of Coulter's fraudulent felonious voter registration forms, the original complaint from the polling place where she illegally tried to vote, attorney letters, and much more more...

From AP...

Ann Coulter Says She Won't Cooperate in Voting Probe

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. Conservative columnist Ann Coulter has refused to cooperate in an investigation into whether she voted in the wrong precinct, so the case will probably be turned over to prosecutors, Palm Beach County's elections chief said Wednesday.

Knowingly voting in the wrong precinct is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.

Elections Supervisor Arthur Anderson said his office has been looking into the matter for nearly nine months, and he would turn over the case to the state attorney's office by Friday.

Anderson added that Coulter, since the allegations surfaced, made "efforts to distract and divert focus on the process regarding this complaint. ... I did express my frustration to the state attorney in a recent meeting and warned him I may need his services," according to an article in the Palm Beach Post.

But Anderson said Coulter's voting rights would not be rescinded for next week's election.

In a letter (posted in full at the end of this article) written by Coulter's newly retained attorney, Marcos Daniel Jimenez --- a legal-eagle ally of the White House, involved in Bush/Cheney's 2000 Election "victory" in Florida --- the deservedly-derided GOP pundit has asked for the special privilege of having correspondence sent to her attorney, instead of to the address where she registered to vote in the Sunshine State --- the address of her real estate agent's house, where she never lived...

By Brad Friedman on 6/7/2006 9:18pm PT

Were it not for the Busby/Bilbray issue reported here earlier today --- which is serious as a heart attack, and about which we'll have more tomorrow --- we would have covered this more indepth. In fact, we've got additional new documents from the Coulter case, which will have to wait until another day because we're buried in the other story for the moment.

But quickly, for now, if this report from the New York Daily News is accurate, the allegations against Coulter surrounding her alleged felony voter fraud, and now more, in the state of Florida, have just gotten a lot worse for her...

But Can't Find 30 Seconds to Discuss an American Presidential Election Which May Have Been Stolen
By Brad Friedman on 6/6/2006 11:48am PT

So, let me get this straight. NBC will give extremist fringe whacko, Ann Coulter more than 7 minutes of air time to spout her disgusting personal opinions about such things as widows of those killed in the 9/11 attacks rejoicing about it. Says Coulter: "I have never seen people enjoying their husband's death so much."

She receives 7 minutes and 38 seconds of airtime (video and transcript here) to help her sell her book, nonetheless! But NBC can't come up with 30 seconds of airtime for an actual legitimate source, like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has written a legitimate and painstakingly researched article --- over four months in the making --- which alleges that our last Presidential Election may have been stolen?

Note to Matt Lauer and NBC: The shame is not Ann Coulter. The shame is you.

Paper Reports GOP Extremist/Pundit Retains Bush Law Firm to Fight Allegations in Palm Beach
By Brad Friedman on 6/2/2006 12:03pm PT

Palm Peach Post columnist, Jose Lambiet gets another scoop in the ongoing saga of Ann Coulter's apparent vote fraud felony down in Palm Beach.

Lambiet reports today that Coulter is now lawyering up to fight the charges that she knowingly registered to vote in Florida at the wrong residence (using her real estate agent's address). That, despite signing an "oath" on the registration form swearing to the truth of the information provided.

After committing what then appears to be Step One of a felony charge that could bring her a $5,000 fine and 5 years in prison (as she agreed she understood on the form when she signed it), she then went on to vote in an election last February and was told she was registered elsewhere and needed to change her address. Instead of doing so, she hurriedly left the precinct without changing her information, and apparently went on to illegally vote at the precinct where she was fraudulently registered.

Faced with losing her right to vote in Florida, the rightwing hatemongering extremist (and Republican party superstar) who mercilessly criticized Florida voters in 2000 for their failure to follow directions at the voting booth, looks to be preparing to fight back. According to Lambiet...

What? Ted Olson wasn't available?

Conservative pundit and best-selling political writer Ann Coulter has hired a white-glove, White House-connected law firm to fight allegations she voted illegally in February's Town of Palm Beach election.

And the attorney from the Miami-based Kenny Nachwalter firm is no stranger to Palm Beach voting. Marcos Jimenez --- who was, along with the more famous Olson, one of the lead attorneys who fought for George W. Bush's side in the 2000 presidential election snafu here --- was assigned to Coulter.

Jimenez, by the way, also knows a thing or two about criminals. Appointed by Bush as U.S. attorney for the southern district of Florida in 2002, Jimenez was charged with going after terrorists, drug dealers and wayward union bosses.

The BRAD BLOG has posted several Exclusive documents from this sorry tale over the last several months since it broke. Amongst them:

  • Coulter's felonious Voter Registration Form. LINK...
  • Documents proving Coulter lives in Palm Beach at a different address than the one she gave. LINK...
  • The official incident report from the Palm Beach precinct where Coulter skipped out when she was told she was at the wrong precinct. LINK...
  • The letter from the Palm Beach County Election Supervisor asking for an explanation from Coulter (which went unanswered). LINK...
  • As well, as we reported previously, the $25,000 homestead tax deduction she claimed for her new $1.3 million crib in Palm Beach would also now seem to be in question as possibly fraudulent since, according to Florida state law, one can only take such a deduction if the property in question is one's primary residence.

Lambiet reports today that the Palm Beach Elections Supervisor, Arthur Anderson, who had previously given Coulter until April 30th to explain herself (she didn't respond), will now wait "a few more weeks" before beginning a procedure to revoke her voting rights and then possibly refer the case to the State Attorney for prosecution.

Then again, she's a Republican. And this is Florida. So "the rule of law" no longer necessarily applies in such cases.
