She receives 7 minutes and 38 seconds of airtime (video and transcript here) to help her sell her book, nonetheless! But NBC can’t come up with 30 seconds of airtime for an actual legitimate source, like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has written a legitimate and painstakingly researched article — over four months in the making — which alleges that our last Presidential Election may have been stolen?

When I read this thread there were 29 comments. Of those 29, 8 were on topic. 3 were off topic. 5 were comments by trolls. And the rest, 13, were replys to the trolls. So it’s pretty easy to see that a couple of trolls leaving a small number of comments were successful in hijacking the thread and the topic. That’s too bad, because the fact that NBC chooses to give Ann Coulter airtime, and none at all to explore evidence of a stolen election is as clear an example of how far the media in this country has sunk as you will ever see. The issue is that there is sufficient evidence to call our last presidential election into question. And anyone who really considers themselves an American and a patriot should give enough of a fuck about the health of this country and it’s most fundamental institution, our right to free and fair elections, to want to hear the evidence, investigate the evidence, and make an informed decision about it in the end. I wonder why the widows are unhappy with BushCo. their loved ones are dead so naturally they just want to know why, but the administration refused to investigate. Without the widows, there would have been no 9/11 Commission Report. BushCo tried to block any investigation…wonder why. I wonder why Bush, Cheney, and Rice refused to talk under oath or have their accounts recorded. And when the commision was done all their findings had to be cleared by the people being being investigated. Don’t you wonder what was in the pages that were ommitted, and why they were ommitted. The man supposedly responsible is a former CIA operative, but no mention in the report. They say there was a massive defense failure, but no one was held accountable. The families were told the report was based on their questions, yet most of those question weren’t answered. If Bin Laden was responsible, then why is BushCo now "not really that concerned about him." The admonistration’s only response any time things get uncomfortable is to attack the messenger. And tht’s what they are doing here, too. It’s not because no one has answered any of their questions, or because the administration was against an investigation. The real problem is those widows.
Ann Coulter is not exploiting the 9/11 widows. She doesn’t care one way or the other. She’s just cashing in. That’s what she knows how to do best. She creates revenue for herself and her publisher.
Both Bush and Coulter will throw out the red meat and watch the hounds gather. If it hurts the poor, so what. If it hurts the widows, so what. What both of them have managed to do quite well these past six years is distract us. What we do, (as Brian does quite well), is appeal to logic and reason, which is how intelligent people respond.
The problem is that logic and reason do not reach people like Bush and Coulter. Logic and reason do not reach the fringe right. You see it all the time on the talk shows. Someone with a reasonable argument, (like Brian), will get shouted down.
I often wonder if what we need to do is meet these people on their own turf and start swinging a few nightsticks of our own. It seems to be the only kind of persuasion they understand.

Out of the all the widows and widowers that have come out of 9-11, why these 5 gold diggers insist on exploiting their losses while others are just simply dealing with it is beyond me.
I don’t approve of Ann’s choice of words, but I agree with her premise.
i think it’s odd when someone will come out and say he/she thinks some of our rights are being violated, and immediately it becomes about liberals and repugs. The things that are going on in this country isnt about libs and repugs. That is what they want you to believe…libs + repugs = division. If you already know who youre voting for then you are no better than ann coulter, i believe she probably has already made up her mind, too. Why not wait and see who really impresses you. Hell, it may even be a 3rd party. It seems to me everyone wants the same thing, an honest gov’t we can feel comfortable representing the American people. Then when something like voter fraud is brought up, we know there will be a legit investigation into it, and not just a continuing attitude as if it doesnt exsist.
As far as voting for Bush or Kerry, thats like an inner squad scrimmage. Sure there is a contest between opponents, but at the end of the day they are still on the same team.
Those of you who describe yourselves as "republicans" or "the right", I must ask you a question. You (and ann coulter) claim that libs hate America. The administrations claims that terrorists hate America because of our freedoms. So then why have we had to give up some of our rights? The patriot act infringed on rights we had pre-9/11. Since the terrorists hate our freedoms, wouldn’t taking some of our freedoms be pleasing to them.
BushCo sees the problem: They attacked us because of our freedoms.
BushCo offers solution: Give up some freedoms and the gov’t will be able to prevent another attack.

Is there any way we can get Ann Coulter to wear an "I support the GOP" shirt or button every time she speaks publicly? She’s doing more to cement their image in the public eye than almost anyone else. I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to have someone on the "other" side in nearly every issue that comes along.
Now if we can just get the next Republican presidential candidate to stand between Ann "I don’t know where I live" Coulter and Pat "I beat the world weight record for leg presses" Robertson for photo ops….

As far as "exploitation" – like it or not, the best agents for positive change are always those who have lived through the circumstances of the situation.
In their response (HERE) , the widows Coulter berated didn’t stoop to her level, they simply addressed her accusations
"Contrary to Ms. Coulter’s statements, there was no joy in watching men that we loved burn alive. There was no happiness in telling our children that their fathers were never coming home again. We adored these men and miss them every day."
With that, they dismissed her – and moved on to addressing some of the deparately needed changes that have STILL not been made to make this country safer.
But thank goodness Congress is tackling the really tough, high priority issues this week, things that will make us ALL safer.
Someone may sneak a nuclear bomb in a crate through one of our harbors, but at least when we see two men or two women we’ve never met walking together on the streets of any town in this country, we know that George W. Bush did everything he could to make sure they can’t get legally married.

I don’t normally post on sites, but I felt that after hearing Ann Coulter’s comments I had no choice. This woman, or whatever she is, is a filthy, disgusting human being who has no morals and no ethics. The fact that her book is on the bestsellers list tells me that there is something very wrong in our country. Why are people blindly following her and the worse president in history? I have to throw a religious spin on this because Coulter believes all liberals are Godless. I’m a liberal, and a Christian and I love regardless of race, religion, color, sexual preference etc WHY? Because we are all human and NO ONE has the right to judge anyone for their actions, we are not God and NO ONE can speak for him. People like Coulter and W think they have the bat phone direct to God’s ear, but they don’t and for all of the problems, pain, hatred etc they have caused, they will reap it back 10 fold.
What also insults me is someone spewing hate and taking up the cross at the same time, its blasphemous! Our president started a ficitious war against the WRONG ENEMY and many young men and women get killed all for his delight.

Although I understand Ann Coulter’s view that it is hard to respond to liberal protesters like Cindy Sheehan and the Jersey Girls because their political messages are based on personal tragedies, I find it laughable that Coulter brought this point up in the first place. Coulter is just as guilty, if not more guilty, than these protesters in trying to base politics on some unarguable point—-being that she claims the Conservative right is working in the name of God, and that Jesus himself would support her book. Having respect for the dead and their loved ones is just as sacred as having respect for God. If Coulter is correct, both sides are guilty of the crime she points to; if she isn’t correct, than Coulter has no point to make. Either may, she looks like an idiot.
People, calm down and don’t buy in to Ann Coulter’s plan, which is to turn controversy into cash. Just like Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson and Fred Phelps, et. al., the more controversy she can stir-up, the more attention to her poor excuses for reading material she receives. (Although I find her photo to be the perfect laxative. One look and my bowels move!) It’s like the proverbial question of, "Why do we stare at a car wreck?"
