Question for your current guest:
If he and his group are so interested in the democratic process, what are they doing about the REAL threats to it?

I thought marriage was a state power. Not a "religious" power.

Which "REAL" threat, Em? (I don't want to have to guess)

I think the real reason he want's this amendment on the ballot is
It offends everything *his* religion stands for.
The thing he don't get is.
There are many religions out there.
Not just Christianity.

What it does is changes the Constitution to make *his* version of religion the law of the land.

I think we should abolish marriage in California. I don't think the State should have any rights over people's love lives. People who want to protect their legal rights with each other can register as domestic partners.

I just don't like the idea of one religion having control over government --- ultimately.
If people want to get married they should be able to. For whatever motivation. Financial, Family, or any other motivation.

You may want to check out how Larry Johnson's blog has changed from a sort of non-partisan investigative one into Freeperland II (or maybe worse). It's sole purpose now is to completely annihilate Barack Obama. You wouldn't believe the hate and vile comments amassing up there, it's like wading through a cesspool. My guess is Johnson is on the Hillary payroll. I am so glad I didn't vote for her.
I bring this up particularly here because you are on his blogroll, so I thought you'd want to know.

If I were you, I'd want no part of that mess. Just sayin'.

I agree, Helen. It's pretty scary over there. But anybody can put anybody on their sidebars, and even though they're scary, they have a right to have their votes counted fairly.
