It has been a very slow weekend. Next week look for something about the “evidence” that Sequoia’s VP Michelle Shafer promised would prove the recent “Dan Rather Report” was wrong; it proves nothing at all. There will also be something about the childish actions of ES&S who seems to think they have an ability to act arrogant and not be called out for it….

John,
Your heading “America’s Faith in Vote Counting Crashes” sorta reminds me of Mother Teresa’s questioning of her faith and whether God really exists or not.
I think all the mass suffering, mass murder, mass disease, and mass corruption gave new meaning to “mass” to her and her faith waivered.
It showed me that she had not lost her common sense.
There used to be a similar lack of faith in evolution back in the day. How could this planet be said to be the height of evolution? Hell the supposedly highest evolved and most adapted to the environment, humanity, is the greatest threat to that environment.
So many of them, including Jastrow, went back to the drawing boards.
Similarly, as your linked-to article alludes to, how could a good election system lead to the election of a disaster when that is not what americans want or voted for?
Yep, this is the planet and these are the daze that try the faithful.
Lets face it, our forefathers were spot on when they separated government from faith, and thereby placed a burden on government officials to be apprised of the facts around them, and to do so in a scientific manner.
The current state of affairs where even preznit blush indicates his “god told me to do it” methodology is one that demands faith just does not hold up to the rigors of scientific methodology or the vision of our forefathers.
Keep the science baby.
