In yesterday’s DVN I mentioned that Smartmatic had been looking for a buyer for Sequoia for “over a year.” In fact Smartmatic announced it was looking for a buyer for Sequoia on 22 Dec. 2006 so it has been 8 months. Both Sequoia and ES&S have released statements in an attempt to make lemonade from the lemons served up by Dan Rather’s Report. …

“Riverside County Registrar Barbara Dunmore said earlier this week she would recommend purchasing a $7 million paper ballot and optical scanning system from Sequoia without seeking a competitive proposal.”
Talk about guaranteed to fail.
And after another failed election has “proven” yet again that paper ballots have mysteriously stopped working in the modern era? Why then Sequoia will expect to be paid yet again for even more EVM’s… and Dunmore will not disapppoint them as her future employment as a highly-paid EVM shill will be on the line.
I know that Bowen has put into place some safeguards regarding the sourcing of the paper ballots, but even opscans require a willing tech crew to make them work halfway right… and if the shills and county officials can convince themselves that Bowen is only a temporary voice of sanity…
BEWARE!!! Rove has NOT rode off into the sunset “to be with his family”!!! I would bet he is up to his usual puke, working on hijacking 2008 for Thompson. I apologize if it is alittle off topic, but the election system must be working or we will have another 8 years of bush/thompson. Thompson is very pro bush!
