Apropos of our earlier post today…
Not sure why everyone is so upset about the VTech shootings. After all, many parts of America are stable now. But, of course, what we see on television is this one shooting and everybody gets discouraged.
We’re not alone in this school of thought, of course…
BTW, Laura’s numbers may be somewhat off. Brookings Institute’s latest data, as of Nov. 2006, puts the number of insurgent and militia attacks at 185 a day, instead of just one…
…Still, turn that frown upside-down, Negative Nellies!
UPDATE: 85 killed or found dead in Iraq on Tuesday…
UPDATE 4/18/07: 233 killed of found dead in Iraq on Wednesday…

thanks for bringing up this disconnect between Vtech and the ongoing death of innocent Iraqi at the hands of American gunmen
mick
Every day in Iraq is VTech on steroids, even with the
scourgesurge.Invasion, occupation, and mass death strangely seems like it does not matter … unless it happens here.
Double standard.
I guess this V Tech shooter guy don’t like Monday’s either . . .
HERE’S A BRAINTEASER FOR EVERYONE:
WHY IS IT THAT EVERYTIME THAT THERE IS AN ATTACK ON SOME ASPECT OF THE U.S. PUBLIC, THE DATE ADDS UP TO 911 IN SOME RESPECT? FOR INSTANCE 4 1+6=11, 2007= 9
THEREFORE, WE HAVE 911 AGAIN AT VIRGINIA TECH. THERE ARE 3 DAYS EVERY MONTH THIS YEAR THAT SOMEONE SOMEWHERE CAN PLAY THIS GAME AND TRY TO TERRORIZE US ALL. IT IS NOT THAT I HAVE TOO MUCH TIME ON MY HANDS TO COME UP WITH THIS ANALOGY. I AM A DEEP THINKER AND I TRY TO ANALYZE WHERE THINGS HAPPEN. I DO THIS TO KEEP MY FAMILY SAFE.I AWAKENED THIS MORNING WITH THIS THOUGHT. I ALSO HOMESCHOOL MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER TO KEEP HER SAFE.
