    Brad,

The initial noise on your program sounds like 60Hz ground hum. There’s problem a microphone or amp that is not properly grounded.

At the moment you are coming through nice and clear.

    Good luck!
    Bill

News reports have revealed that Karl Rove CONFIRMED the identity of covert CIA official Valerie Plame Wilson with Robert Novak on July 8, 2003, six days before Mr. Novak published the information in a nationally syndicated column. This disclosure has obvious relevance to the criminal investigation of special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald.
But there is another matter that should be also be investigated.
Mr. Rove signed a ‘Confidential Information Nondisclosure Agreement’ before assuming his duties in the White House.
Under the nondisclosure agreement Mr. Rove would be subject to the loss of his security clearance or dismissal even for ‘negligently’ disclosing Ms. Wilson’s identity.
Mr. Rove has raised the implication that there is a distinction between releasing classified information to someone not authorized to receive it and CONFIRMING classified information from someone not authorized to have it. But there is no such distinction under the nondisclosure agreement Mr. Rove signed!
In fact this issue is specifically addressed in the nondisclosure agreement. An official who has signed a nondisclosure agreement ‘CANNOT CONFIRM CLASSIFIED INFORMATION OBTAINED BY A REPORTER’. This obligation is even highlighted in the ‘briefing booklet’ that new security clearance recipients receive when they sign their nondisclosure agreements.
Therefore, Mr. Rove should have his security clearance revoked and either resign or be fired from his position. And should this outrageous ‘outting’ of a covert CIA agent for the partisan political purpose of attempting to discredit a critic of the administration warrant criminal charges he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!

    Hey Brad,

Can you ask him if the press corps is waking up, because Rove is probably the one who used to call their boss and threaten them if they questioned the admin’s actions? And now after four years of cowing to the admin’s attack dog, the press is finally acting like, "Ding dong, the witch is dead", and feeling their oats?

    Thanks,
    Jessica L

Is anyone else imploding on the irony of Brad’s use of Gerry Rafferty?

Rafferty may be the mildest "rock star" who ever lived, yet here he is, sticking a chisel in the cracks of this administration — every week!

    Rock on, Gerry!

Wondering if there has been an attempt by the Blair Administration to identify the source of the leak of the DSM in England?

#2 IF an "American Deep Throat" were to send damaging docs to an English Newspaper, would they be exposed or beyond the reach of the Bush Admin to suppress them.

Please ask Greg Palast if he aware of the investigation by Elliot Spitzer of NY into illicit money transfers from offshore bank accts into the Bush Campaign accts in 2004. And have there been any other successes in following the Bush money used to influence election outcomes in the USA.

I had an idea last week while working I’d like to share, concerning much-needed fund raising for Brad. I’ll try to keep it short so’s not to hijack the thread…

A person needing my services approached me about working out a deal in trade for goods, as he didn’t have enough money to cover my quote. I asked how much he could afford and if I could do the work for him on Saturday. I accepted his meager offer thinking that this would be an easy way to put in a few BRAD HOURS without upsetting my budget.

So today I did the job and after my expenses were taken out, I pocketed $40.00 in green-back BRAD CASH!! Cool huh? It’ll be in the mail on Monday Brad and I’ll be available most Saturdays for cheap!

We can help the needy people while funding the people’s needs, people! What else can we do besides this and this?

Miller and Novak aren’t journalists, they’re nothing but Bush advocates. I can’t stand either of them. I blew my friggin top when I heard yesterday on Randi Rhodes that Novak wrote 2 articles about Plame. The first outing her, the second outing her CIA front company. Novak needs his ass kicked for that.

WINTERPATRIOT! I used to LOVE T-REX!! I remember seeing them perform "Bang a Gong" on "In concert" one night back in the seventies, before I was old enough to go out on Friday and Saturday nights!

Just checking in for a few minutes before I shut everything down, storms are wreaking havoc with my power and as we all know, lightning and computers do not play well together.

Thanks sooo much for the "Brad Show" open threads, and for archiving the shows. I’m never able to listen on Saturday night so always have to catch up later.

    Anyway…

Y’all have fun tonight, some night I’ll have the house to myself and be able to join you LIVE!

Question for Greg. First of all I’m a huge fan and you’re my favorite reporter. Keep up the great work. I love all you’ve done. Here’s my question: I watched the PBS documentary on Karl Rove called "The Architect" (it’s on their website) and they told something very interesting in the first part of the documentary. They had a guy from the Washington Post and he was saying that they knew they were going to lose and everybody was acting like they were at a funeral and Rove was trying to keep things light-hearted. They got the word that Kerry was really winning and it was 43% Bush and 57% Kerry. Rove couldn’t believe this and he called up the people at the campaign headquarters and they were all saying they were getting out the vote. In his computer at the White House he set up a whole "war room" at the campaign and getting tracking polling and their OWN system and returns. The campaign headquarters contracted the exit polls. Did this group ask democrats or people in general or just their base? That’s what I want to know. It went 9-11 it went to a celebration. The next morning Kerry conceded and Bush was re-elected and Rove was giving a new title "The Architect". His hand was in all of it. For hours, exit polls were indicating that John F. Kerry was the likely new president. But Karl Rove knew otherwise. He had his own numbers, and they dramatically contradicted the exit polls. Do you know about this Mr. Palast? I was wondering about this. You can see the doc on PBS.org

We’re flying now!!! Greg and Brad, I just want to say thanks to both of you for focusing on election fraud and suppression these past few years. This is an issue I take very personally. I can take losing a fair election, but I can’t live with a stolen election.

I saw Greg on Like It Is in NY on ABC a few weeks after the election and he really articulated alot of the problems in Ohio. I really appreciate both of your efforts. Keep up the good work!

I’ve never gotten an answer on this:

Cuyahoga County Parma 8 E and Parma 8 D had different ballots. If the punch cards were counted in the wrong one, all of the Kerry votes would be Bush votes. Did anyone ever check this?

nonbeliever said on 7/16/2005 @ 4:54pm PT: [Permalink]

We said this before a couple of weeks ago, and the more I think about it the angrier I get. The DNC report was a whitewash!! It didn’t mention the Warren County lockdown and alot of other incidents. Conyers’ report was much more thorough.

Greg talking about the incidents in New Mexico just reminded me how Bill Richards punked out of a recount in New Mexico last year. That dipstick will never get my vote if he runs for president.

I also heard there were some bad Democrats that were in on the suppression of black votes in Florida in 2000. Has anyone else heard about this?

    I can’t stand traitorous Dems.

Winter Patriot said on 7/16/2005 @ 4:56pm PT: [Permalink]

yes, folks! the triad tech — the mysterious lockdown — the paper stickers on ballots at the "recount" — many more than we could possibly cover in an hour … more than we could cover in four hours!

But at least we’re talking about these things!

BTW: Jonathan Gold has been posting some 9/11 related links in this thread and urging us to remember that this is what it’s all about … for whatever it might be worth, I agree with him.

    And force demo(n)cracy on Iraq
(just like the 2004 US election)

In a statement issued in response to questions about a report in the next issue of The New Yorker, Frederick Jones, the spokesman for the National Security Council, said that "in the final analysis, the president determined and the United States government adopted a policy that we would not try – and did not try – to influence the outcome of the Iraqi election by covertly helping individual candidates for office."

Had emailed Brad this week about Brad and David Swanson discussing the possibility that they would urge the Congress not to recess. If ever the Congress should stay in session, it is now. We all know the reasons why – our citizens are dying in an illegal occupation of Iraq, we have traitors in the White House, we know the issue about Bolton and we know that more than 60 % of Americans are not at all satisfied with the performance of the Congress.

I have a business meeting beginning at 5pm PDT and may miss when David is on, so could you pass this issue to the two of them for consideration.

Brad – I haven’t heard the music selection, but if you haven’t already, could you find a place in one of your shows for Nine Inch Nails "Hand That Feeds"?

To those who don’t know, the band backed out of a performance on MTV Movie Awards show because they wanted to play that song with a huge poster of George Bush as the backdrop, but MTV said they were "uncomfortable with their performance being built around a partisan political statement"

Nine Inch Nails drops MTV show over image of Bush

    The lyrics are incisive:

    What if this whole crusade’s
    A charade
And behind it all there’s a price to be paid
    For the blood
    On which we dine
Justified in the name of the holy and the divine
