And Speaking of ‘Clunkers’…

Share article:

David Kurtz at TPM suggests: “How about a program where we can turn in the old, washed-up pundits and talking heads on the cable nets for ones that spew less dangerous emissions?”

And, in not entirely unrelated news, Glenn Greenwald offers the proper perspective on today’s report that the corporate ownership of both Fox “News” and MSNBC have interceded into their news divisions’ ongoing Olbermann v. O’Reilly Wars because, while it’s been good for ratings for both of them, it’s bad for the corporations.

To build on Kurtz’ notion, how about if we turn in the old, washed-up, corporatized news outlets who live large on our public airwaves and government largesse as well?

The corpocracy putting an end to o’liely/obermann feuding shouldn’t surprise anyone. After all, it makes the wingnuts look bad which adversely affects BOTH corporate owners. Keith consistently has truth on his side.

Just more proof that the few global corporations that own more than 80 percent of the mainstream media see those assets as more valuable “catapulting” the propaganda than a vehicle to serve legitimate public needs and pay for that service with advertising revenue.

Changes are going to require organized economic action against the corpocracy that owns the mainstream media and the many companies like staples, office depot, walmart, ford, at&t, merrill lynch, morgan stanley, pricewaterhousecoopers, mcDonald’s, toyota, dell, coors, conagra Foods (which produces: armour, blue bonnet, butter ball, chun king, healthy choice, manwich, peter pan, swiss miss, and van camp’s), safeway, exxon, flowers industries, wendy’s, caterpillar, hallmark, kmart, sears, jc penney, pilgrim’s pride, owens corning, 3m, and delta that underwrite the propaganda.

We need to boycott ge, westinghouse, viacom, disney, time-warner, and news corporation (faux) – the coropocracy that controls more than 80 percent of the news you see and hear, tv you watch, and music you listen to.

OT, but still speaking of clunkers-

Some good info on whipping support for single payer stuff.

    http://www.correntewire.com/whip_it_whip_it_good

The author includes an embedded youtube, saying:
a commercial for the California Single Payer system that could be used to support Medicare for all just as easily

This is just further proof that the news is “controlled”. Thank you Glenn Greenwald for offering even more evidence of this. This begs the question: “What else are they controlling in their ‘news'”???

These corporate execs also have divisions that make bombs for war. So, aren’t they going to suppress war news? Especially anti-war news?

In a nutshell: if corporate execs are stepping into their news divisions to stop news that hurts one of their ratings, aren’t they stepping into their news divisions if it hurts their divisions that make military weapons, too??? Obviously, the answer is “YES”!!!

The Republicans, including John McCain shows how they disagree with the Cash for Clunkers Bill. Theyopposed the Cash for Clunkers program because they believe that it is chaotic. It’s not chaotic. There’s nothing chaotic about it at all. In fact, it’s been such a wild success they’ve run out of money. John McCain certainly doesn’t like the Cash for Clunkers bill ““ or anything good for anyone ““ and he is also a vocal opponent of the health care reform package, which is seen as a step towards universal health care, or Obamacare as it’s described in the press. The Republican Party seems bent on putting short term loans and whatever else they can into stopping many of Obama’s programs, regardless of how good of ideas they may be. The Cash for Clunkers bill might save people from needing no fax payday loans for a car payment, and stimulate auto sales if it’s allowed to work.
