Montana and South Dakota get my interest, because they are using the AutoMark.

That is one I am not very familiar with. Anyone know about those machines?

Dredd, AutoMark is a ballot marking device. It is manufactured by AutoMark but sold by ES&S. It tallys no votes; only uses touch-screen technology to mark a paper ballot which can be hand-counted or optical-scan counted. The AutoMark also has full accessibility for a wide-range of disabilities unlike the blind and visually impaired only DREs made by Diebold, Sequoia, and ES&S.

Add to the list of states using all paper ballots my soon-to-be-adopted home state of Alabama. They are using ES&S optical scan ballots and AutoMarks for accessibility. There will be no DRE's in Alabama.

Of course, absent proper safeguards, optical scan is problematic, too, but at least there's something tangible to examine.

Ever lived with a drunk? They enjoy pissing everybody off. Esp. authority figures connected to the parent who caused the most pain when they were growing up. Bush is destroying everything his Father was involved in. CIA...Military ....the country ...he is just destroying now. Jeff Gannon, it is time to get that book out. I for one will appreciate it.
