/j #bradblog
I see it's more media rich than irc. But... IRC is realtime. (if that's the goal)
peace bro, we'll see how it works. 6PM pacific... I'll try to be here. -p

THE INTERVIEW WITH SIBEL EDMONDS DOES NOT PLAY COMPLETELY. ONLY THE FIRST PART. I SPENT TEN MINUTES FINDING HIS PLACE TO RESPOND. THIS IS A VERY POORLY DESIGNED SITE.

Laura Bush supports President Obama school speech
In an interview with CNN, Mrs. Bush, a former school teacher, said, "There's a place for the president of the United States to talk to school children and encourage school children" to stay in school. And she said parents and others also need to send that message

I thought it was going to give me a chance to mark when to stop, or announce an end time.....
And then I was so damn hungry I ran in and knocked over the refrigerator....
Anyway. Not graceful, but, well... learning curve and all that....

So, well, we're even because now I have to go and HEAR what YOU were yammering about! I so cannot chat and hear at the same time.....
Very fun, but... I think we need a teenager!

Absolutely, if it doesn't bust a hump. First time we've been able to commune in real time after years (in some cases) of posting here. That is not insignificant. I feel my cyber-community is being well fostered.
+ better flow / more natural conversation than having to hit "refresh" over and over; chat room format much more likely to boost participation rates.

...wait a second...you knocked over a refrigerator, instead of announcing a time to stop the chat???

I tellz yiz, Danny Boy, I'm no one to mess with! Not only do I knock over refrigerators, but I do it with sheer psychic force... never lay a finger on 'em. The problem is that when I'm too stressed, my aim goes off....
It's the real reason Brad puts up with me.
I've almost perfected the keyboard electrification juju for trolls.

I considered last evening an experiment, from top to bottom. While I probably spewed meaningless nonsense (enough to get kicked actually on some of the IRC channels I hang out on), I was concerned that the live blog be able to handle attacks. (According to 99, no attacks happened.) That's nice and excellent for last night, however If you run a live event like this eventually you WILL have attacks.
About my only other mention here is, for obvious reasons, it becomes slightly more complicated to both (truly) listen to a show and interact at the same time. I found on a personal level, my comprehension of the show content was dimmed (not off though) especially while making a fool of myself yammering (yes I make this sound much worse than it actually was) on in the live blog. I found myself picking a deep rooted (like electronic vote tabulation devices) topic and shoving that in. While you were really just testing last night, to insert topics like this could become a distraction. (Yeah, I am saying my activity could been considered bad behavior.) Like i said, I hang out on some IRC chat rooms who don't tolerate the slightest thing. Even behaving yourself you can find yourself accidentally in trouble. OTOH - I know this isn't IRC, it's Live Blogging.
While a live blog moderation is not much different from an actual blog moderation, the difference is when bad events go down in real time, who ever is moderating really has to be on the ball.
Perhaps you should make some rules. Like how many times some can repeat before it's a flood, if someone get's kicked out, how long are they removed for, kick vs ban/blacklist simple things like that.
Anyway, That's my advice.. A few things to ponder to protect the system.
On the other hand, as the night progressed, I couldn't help but feel very warm inside knowing how many of us were present at the same time. I could literally feel the energy!
