Phil Giraldi, a former CIA counter-terrorism officer, is one of the few in the U.S. “mainstream” media (of a sort), who has bothered to cover — and cover responsibly — Sibel Edmonds’ story in the past.
Today over at The American Conservative — that’s right, The American Conservative — Giraldi notes this week’s release of Edmonds’ remarkable deposition video and transcript, appropriately under the headline “Sibel Edmonds Speaks, But No One is Listening”…
The other interview Giraldi refers to there is the one I did with Edmonds a month or so back while guest hosting the Mike Malloy Show. That one made mainstream news headlines around the world…except for in the U.S., of course, where it doesn’t matter in the slightest…after Edmonds expert Luke Ryland covered what he described as the “bombshell” within it. Giraldi, at The American Conservative — did I mention his quick article was at The American Conservative? — goes on to note that “Edmonds is a credible witness who is ignored by the mainstream media and congress because her tales, if true, would be devastating to both political parties and to the Israel and Turkish lobbies,” and then asks: “Now that she has testified under oath and in considerable detail making very specific accusations isn’t it time for someone in the administration to review the FBI files and stand up to say whether her accounts are true or not?”
Well, one would think that, no? Silly, one.
Scott Horton of AntiWar.com however, who has covered the Edmonds deposition earlier this week), interviews Giraldi about the Edmonds deposition today. That 26 minute interview can be heard online here. (They also speak a bit about Holder’s recently announced torture investigation, and Giraldi, an actual conservative, as opposed to a fake one, as well as a former CIA analyst, believes the announced investigation does not go far enough.)
I hope to help encourage more coverage/investigation of the Edmonds story in the coming days, with some pieces in which I’ll try to help the poor poor resource-less mainstream media out by putting the matter, and the deposition, into a few more accessible bite-size chunks for them. The way you might cut up a piece of steak for a child, I guess. Also, I’ve doing my best on the radio over the last couple of days to further help get the word out. (You can too, by Digging and Redditting and emailing etc. please!)

One on the Malloy Show on Tuesday, and another one yesterday, in studio on KPFK, our local Pacifica station here in Los Angeles, on Roseanne Barr’s program (though she was off this week). Keep up the good work. There is a contact list on The Mudflats compiled by HamletsMill which would be helpful for those who want to contact the media and ask why they aren’t reporting this. Or to ask elected officials why is this allowed to happen.

As far as “anyone from bradblog”, you do realize that it’s by and large just me here, right? With some help from occasional volunteers who can afford to offer their time and energy gratis? And I’ve been kinda busy lately, as surely you’ve noticed, each time you’ve posted on thread after thread about the same thing (much appreciated that you haven’t called me “a disgusting human” as you did in your previous obnoxious comments because I didn’t cover what u wanted me to cover).
But I’m nothing if not accommodating. If you’re willing to cover the cost of a plane trip to Martha’s Vineyard, and a cheap hotel room there, I’ll dispatch someone right away to cover it first hand for ya. What is all this sarcastic subtext about fake “conservatives” versus real “conservatives”? Should we care? 🙂

Maybe someone could take a page from We Are Change activism to get coverage for Sibel’s revelations. They have activist reporters confront the people directly. You can confront those who are implicated or confront those who should be writing about this or confront those who should be investigating this. The entire verbal (non violent) confrontation should be recorded on video with sound. Their reactions and commitments would be there for the world to be shown on youtube or something similar. It takes balls, but, as of now, we still have freedom of speech and can video people in public places. Just a thought. This is the kind of stuff that 60 minutes used to do back in their early days. We see this kind of confrontation journalism being practiced against child molesters and other criminals still today. Playing nice hasn’t worked. I think this tactic is worth exploring. It will take a special person or group to consider doing this. Whoever considers it should know the law and the risks involved. At this point it is just a suggestion put up for discussion.
So, Giraldi doesn’t even take the time to check his work? DC not Ohio. I guess facts are optional to the cons anyway, no matter.
I like it when Scott Horton interviews Scott Horton…. They refer to each other as The Other Scott Horton.
What will come next? Will Turkey or Turkish Lobby and there friends soon manage to buy courts and Judges too ?

It’s more likely that the Turkish Government was co-opted by the US/Israeli Governments many moons ago, my Uncle was stationed there in the late 50’s, early 60’s with the USAF
Why haven’t we seen excerpts of Sibel’s testimony on Democracy Now?
The only way the wtc buildings came down at free fall speed on 911 was by cutting charges placed on the columns from the base up in a controlled demolition. Anyone with a modicum of common sense who has watched the videos can see this.
Underwritters Labratories subjected the steel used in the wtc to heat and stress tests and found it wasn’t weakend by the keroseen jet fuel (whiched burned out in 10 minutes). These buildings were designed to withstand being hit by the airliners that fly by everyday, building 7 wasn’t even hit.
A testing labratory could easily duplicate the collapse of the wtc buildings using scale models with a controlled demolition. To the best of my knowlege the NIST explanation has never been proven in a labratory or real life for that matter. So the portrayal of the rational explanation as a conspiracy or theroy by people who keep putting up unproven explanations is the height of blame shifting and misrepresentation by desparate people involved in a real criminal conspiracy.

Based on watching Siebel Edmonds’ testimony, it seems that this guy is very dangerous and is spreading Islamist ideas under the guise of Moderate Islam. The Wikipedia article should be updated if Siebel is correct:
