Up to 100,000 votes may not be counted in Los Angeles Co. New Mexico is still counting ballots from the week-old caucus and probably will be for a couple more days. The Washington state GOP has stopped counting caucus votes, with 13% more to be counted, and has declared a winner. These are not voting machine issues but election administration issues. More voters are affected by these failures than they are by voting machines. When you add in all of the problems with voter registration data bases that have been apparent in CA, AZ, NM, LA, and other states so far this year, there is a pattern that should be of great concern. Tomorrow we have primary voters going to the polls in Maryland and Virginia and the District of Columbia. Let’s hope they do much better. If not, we will be reporting their failures.

Yeah, Happy BD John.
You know, voting machines make strange bedfellows.
Back in the day when Clint Curtis was explaining how the was approached by an individual who became a congress member, and was told to write some code to flip votes, there was also a chinese spy story.
The spy worked at the same place as Clint, and the congress member was the lawyer for the spy.
Now the spies have multiplied, and so have the voting machines.
John, we need more of you to keep an eye on this. I hope your children and grandchildren stay the course.
I just blogged about my voting experience in Maryland, and some of my thoughts about it.
Happy birthday John. Thank you for your tireless work for US. May your coming year be full of joy and peace.

You are correct to reject the election religion (“just have faith and trust us”) in chain of custody and most everything else.
As you say, what we have in common in Amurka is that there is no way to know how our vote was counted, or even if it was counted.
What happens to our vote is an article of faith, not a matter of knowledge.
Thank you for the kind comments. I appreciate it.
Now we all need to start a letter writing campaign to convince Brad that I deserve to have that vacation in Hawaii that he has been promising me for the past two years. I was expecting it for my birthday. Maybe next year?
Ahahahahaha!
That’s a good one, John!
Ahahahahaha! My hand is sore from slapping it on my desk. 😛
Hope that next year works out for you, John. You deserve it! You guys are my working class heros.
Come on Brad,
Don’t you need to send somebody to check on Hawaiian elections in person?
If JG doesn’t wanna go, I volunteer. I’m just that way…
Happy day JG. And know that we all appreciate your work. This DVNews is where I go every day in the limited time I have to fight this fight for free fair elections…
