Now I know why I woke up this morning shocked ... and "awed".
I prefer to describe that realmn as "shock and odd".
Many of us knew that Iraq was not a threat to the US or anyone else who was not paranoid.
But our voices were drowned out by the trolls ...
Who have since disappeared ... and ...
It figures.
This is St. Patricks day too ... so instead of purple hearts and budweiser ... I am doing green hearts and Guinness ...
It is a little less shocking and odding ... and a little more social and accomodating.
When the "bombs" go off the morning after the '08 election ... I hope to be "soothed and ok'd" ... fuck the "shock and awe" fascist bullshit.

I heard on NPR the voice of an anti- anti-war protester say something about those of us who don't support the war can just go get a plane ticket out.
My ancestors came over 4 years after the pilgrims. I've several great grandfathers in the Revolution. I'll be with them in their original righteousness if it comes to that again.

I couldn't make it to the march. We had a state of emergency snow storm (again) in Pa., and it was not driveable.
On Monday, get ready for an avalanche of bullshit from ANBCBSNNX, Sean PropagHannity, Rush Limboob, Bill O'LIEly, the whole self-proclaimed conservative gang who are really corporate fascists.
Hannity will probably have a vet who got spit on, on his Monday infomercial. Limbaugh will say the protestors are "against the troops", to disguise that he is really a pro-war fascist. And O'Reilly will take you for a "spin in the no-facts zone". The "on-the-hour" radio news breaks will interview "pro-war" protestors, as if THEY are the majority (like last time). And senile fascist Paul Harvey will ask what happened to America, with all these protestors!!!
Get ready for an avalanche of bullshit from the self-proclaimed conservatives who have taken over the CMSM!!! All this , on Monday.
The only shows that will accurately show the protests will be: Democracy NOW! on LINK-TV & Free Speech TV, and the INN Report on FSTV.

The testimony of Valerie Plame Wilson as to how we got into the war would be interesting.
It is as if they wanted to stop her projects in the CIA from revealing that there were no WMD there ... and to stop Joe Wilson's as well ... so the war could start and Haliburton make billions along with other oil companies. Will Exxon, Shell, BP, and the others relocate to UAE too?
Valerie and Joe sued Cheney, Rove, Libby, and Armitage in the District Court of the District of Columbia. Their long and interesting Complaint filed in the matter begins with a quote from president Bush I stating that it is treason to leak a covert agent's name.

A full compliment of Iraq War Documents is linked here.
The list of documents includes the "Senate Intelligence Committee Report on the U.S. Intelligence Community's Prewar Intelligence Assessments on Iraq (July 7, 2004)".

I know these demonstrators mean well, bless their hearts, but marching up a street waving signs and chanting isn't going to change a damned thing. If black people just carried signs and chanted back in the 1960s they would STILL be riding in the back of the bus. Playing by the "rules" layed out by the establishment, like only protesting on Saturdays when the congressmen aren't even IN the Capitol Building, and confining the demonstration to "free speech zones" will get us nowhere. These "rules" are set up that way for a reason: To ensure that the demonstration has little or no practical effect. At the end of the day the demonstrators might feel like they were "doing the right thing" but all they are doing is playing right into the hands of the establishment when they "protest" according to the establishment's narrow set of "rules". Who's organizing this crap? Barbara Billingsley? People need to get radical and I mean RADICAL. Nobody in a anything remotely similar to a free country should need a permit to have a demonstration and meet certain conditions in order to get that permit. That's absurd. The demonstrations need to be held DURING the week, or the days during the week when the indolent congressmen are actually THERE. Furthermore, what's needed isn't a "protest march" at all but actual CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE. Only that will accomplish what is needed. The establishment has to be INCONVENIENCED. Don't march NEAR the Capitol Building, march TO it, and literally besiege it. Surround it with a hundred thousand demonstrators. Each or at least most should be armed with batons, ideally wearing some sort of helmet, and with wet bandannas to help in the event of tear gas being used. One good idea from yesterday's demonstration was the cutting in half of plastic highway barrels to use as shields. Everyone in the front of the demonstration should carry these. The roads surrounding the Capitol Building, especially Pennsylvania Avenue, should be blocked completely. No cars allowed through, period. Shut down the heart of the city and surround and besiege the Capitol Building. Then once it's besieged it is time to actually ENTER the Capitol Building. The demonstrators would have to be prepared for a fight; the Capitol police and D.C. police would probably try to throw up a barricade. We would need to smash through it, not trying to hit the police but trying to move them and the barricade out of the way; if the police pigs then start trying to beat protesters then the protesters need to defend themselves using their own batons and shields. The police pigs would then be enemies of the people and obstacles standing in the way of progress, and should be treated as such if they beat on demonstrators. Upon entering the Capitol Building the protesters need to occupy it and not let any legislators or their staff leave. Declare that the building has now been occupied by the People and that the war in Iraq ends today. No congressmen should be allowed to leave until an irreversible withdrawl-from-Iraq bill has been voted on, passed, and (if Bush vetoes it) the veto overriden. The demonstrators should then stay in occupation of the building for long enough afterwards to make sure that they don't just reverse it the next chance they get and pass another bill saying the war continues. Make it plain to the legislators that they aren't leaving the building without ending the war in Iraq. Would that be democratic? No, but it would be a hell of a lot closer to it than the sham we see in Congress today, where you have 70% or 80% of America wanting a withdrawl from Iraq and the votes to end the war "simply aren't there".
CONGRESS HAS CEASED REPRESENTING THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE. THE ONLY AVENUE OF CHANGE REMAINING IS ORGANIZED CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE. WE DIDN'T ASK FOR THINGS TO BE THIS WAY; THE ESTABLISHMENT THEMSELVES HAVE MADE IT THIS WAY. THE CONSTITUTION PROVIDES FOR THE POPULACE TO ALTER OR ABOLISH ANY GOVERNMENT THAT CEASES ACTING IN THE INTERESTS OF THE PEOPLE. IT IS TIME TO EXERCISE THAT RIGHT.

By playing by their "rules" we are playing to their strengths. That is senseless; we need to go for their weakness. Their weakness is that no system is designed to be able to cope with massive, organized civil disobedience.

Maybe you ought to take a look at this story, about the "pro-war" protestors, and who's possibly financing them...and they should be looked into a little further. They are "Gathering of Eagles", "America First Foundation", and "Rolling Thunder" which looks like some sort of biker gang with chapters all over the country.
http://winterpatriot.blo...ters-threatened-and.html
I know the anti-war protestors are real regular people. Maybe the "pro-war" protestors should be investigated as possibly being financed by the fascists. Remember the "protestors" bussed in to "protest" the 2000 chad counting? It was staged! The Bush invite-only crowds? The fake news NVR's?
I'd like to see some journalistic investigation on the "Gathering of Eagles", "America First Foundation", and the "Rolling Thunder" bikers, whoever they are.

There's your Hannity/Limbaugh/Paul Harvey story for Monday: "Pro-war protestors outnumber anti-war protestors"...but maybe we should check out these groups I've mentioned above, it would be interesting if they're being bankrolled by the corporate war fascists.
Is that a stretch??? Are fake news NVR's a stretch? Or bussing in protestors for the 2000 chad counting? Or outing a CIA agent? Or lying us into war?
Do you think these same people are NOT trying something like bankrolling "pro-war" groups? Is that beyond your imagination??? Is that beyond the realm of possibility???
I'm just saying, a little journalistic investigation of these groups is called for.

The firings of US attorney Carol C. Lam and Daniel Bogden were connected through one case that just so happened to be the first time the Patriot Act was used in a non-terrorism related case. The investigation, and the subsequently comprehensive search for financial records ended up getting Sheldon Adelson, the 6th richest man in the world and fervent Bush supporter, involved by highlighting $190,000 of contributions he gave to the now convicted ex-County Commissioner and Lobbyist Lance Malone. It is a highly complicated case that demonstrates that Mark Corallo, who has worked as spokesman for both Karl Rove and Attorney General Gonzales, and also at the Republican National Committee was most likely the go-between to help spur these firings on behalf of Sheldon Adelson.
