oops! I must have read your comment too fast ... "Medium Left" did you say "re-election"??
You did, didn't you? Then you're right, of course ... bush cannot run for re-election because he has never been legitimately elected in the first place!

And they stopped updating the results in mid-afternoon (ET) with the score : yes: 88%. no: 9%. dunno: 3%.

Why should Rove take one for the team? Screw it. You know Bush is thinking..mnn there must be some position higher up in our administration we can put Carl... how bout Supreme Court Justice? The Democrats aren't powerful enough to block and besides maybe we can change that Congressional checks and balance too and I'll just appoint him without their approval. Most Democrats only call themselves Democrats.. but I know they are really Repugnant (I mean Republican).

Is it possible for a college drop out who has no redeeming characteristics to become a Supreme Court Justice? What a rags to riches story that would be.
God help us.

God help us indeed, Sam #8.
And remember that these "polls" are handpicked "1000+1" dealies. When are pollsters going to poll a real cross-section? I don't believe that 41% of the public trust GWB.

Another poll has Bush at 56 (FIFTY SIX!) % disapproval.
I would be happy if so many weren't dead because of the sick bastard.

The polls are molded some by the London bombing. When that furor subsides the rates will go lower.
The majority see thru the phony masks of the lying neocons and the exit polls show that is how they voted.
The reporting of the vote count was, in relevant part, in the control of neocons, and as Stalin says that is what counts.
The RoveGate scandal may lower the polls even more as Rove and Bush cuddle each other publicly.
Rove smiles into the cameras of the press as Scotty refuses to comment ... other than to say bu$hit supports Rove.
I hope Peg C #9 is correct because anything else is mass insanity.

Coups and dictatorships don't care about popularity. Bush and the Republicans are in power and they will stay in power with their vote stealing...they don't care that America doesn't want them...they will only try to "fix" the "appearance" of unpopularity with lies and more vote stealing to "disprove" the unpopularity in the polls. When will America finally REMOVE them from Washington?

I think you had it right the first time - 41% of ALL voters.
It seems more correct that 98% of VOTERS WHO VOTED FOR BUSH ALSO BELIEVE PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING IS REAL

I agree with CherylM #14 with respect to Jim #13 --- great designs and I wish you best of luck with it. Looks like a winner to me!
And for Cheryl: leaving "little articles etc" in local places in your community is a great idea. For a wide selection of "little articles etc", formatted for easy printing and copying, please visit The Whispering Campaign.

Turdblossomization of the Body Politic
Public esteem for President Bush was surprisingly high when all of other engines of government were experiencing all-time lows:
the Democratic party
the Congress
the Department of Justice
the Main Stream Media
Not to mention our traditional allies around the world. But as confidence in the veracity of President Bush has been going down this past week, we are seeing a rise in public esteem for:
the Democratic party
the Congress
the Department of Justice
the Main Stream Media
Almost overnight, these sleeping institutions are experiencing new life. How is this to be explained?
The explanation, I believe, could be called the Karl Rove Effect (not because he invented the effect, but because he perfected it). The Karl Rove Effect is what happens as the result of a simple strategy of gaining political victories by smearing opponents. An election, on this model, is not a debate but a duel where the "loser" is mortally wounded or dead. It is obviously not necessary or even important that the winner be a particularly skilled; it is only necessary to make sure that the opponent's pistol misfires.
When successful, this strategy causes losing candidates to be incapacitated, disgraced. Recently, institutions such as the congress, the courts, the media, and the Democratic party have been Turdblossomed. Under the tutelage of Karl Rove, no matter how corrupt and incompetent the administration, the President's ratings remained higher than those in the congress, the courts, the media, and the Democratic party.
What we are seeing this week is the de-Turdblossomization process. When the process is complete, we will enter a new age of balance when the courts and the congress and the media are held in high esteem, and Americans debate the issues instead of shooting insults at each other. This will take place at the exact time when this administration's tenure comes to a close. It will happen, I predict, before 2008. It will happen because of PlameGate, the Downing Street Documents, the 2004 Ohio Election Review, and the Pre-9/11 Intelligence Review. These reviews will all come about before, during, and after the 2006 mid-term elections.
Bush's second term will last 1000 days.
