Howard Dean MD, would have been an infinitely superior choice; besides the Rick Warren selection for his albeit short lived invocation; this right wing talking point droid is equally disheartening. It's just another of a series of stunningly shocking moves by the Obama Administration. Shameful selection, very sad.

My favorite TV doc is Dr. McDreamy.
Huh? Wait. This isn't the People's Choice Awards?
Nevermind.
Seriously. If he's pro-choice and pro REAL science the rest is just gravy. Still, Barry is making some strange choices. I guess there's a method to the madness. Or not. Same shit, different corportacracy.

Gupta is a shill for the Pharmaceutical Industry. He also appears to think that National Health Care is a bad idea. I guess having large numbers of people not getting health care because they can't afford it is somehow better than having national health care. So this selection caused me to say WTF?

Did Obama talk about this selection at all? This announcement pissed me off big-time.
Gupta's comments in those SICKO interviews were infuriating as well as inaccurate. He was a human snake. He spoke for the insurance companies, and his idiocy in talking about government-run entitlement programs was breathtaking.
I really don't care if this talking-head Gupta will be a mere figurehead: His lies, his disingenuous bullcrap, and his sheer arrogance conflict with the best interests of The People.

Good for Krugman for standing up for Michael Moore. These are two Americans to be proud of.
Howard Dean for Surgeon General. That does have a nice ring, doesn't it?

Never fear, the Manhattan Institute will come to big Pharma and big insurance's rescue.
They can sell you a shit sandwich and you will eat it and like it.
I already know that John Stossel works for them, I found that out after his hit piece on universal healthcare on 20/20, does Sanjay Gupta also work for them or one of those other front groups?
This woman has been on his shows an awful lot.

The best surgeon general we ever had in my lifetime, who actually put the public health interest ahead of his own opinions and morals was Koop. Only because of Koop - and his backing by Reagan - do we actually *gasp* talk about condoms and other birth control (and disease mitigation) methods.
What we need is a SG who will talk about how to get health care for those who can't afford it. Note, that doesn't mean absolutely it would be nationalized, (although that would be the most obvious implementation).

OT for Obama, if you want to save our economy:
1. CLEAN OUT MILITARY WASTE
2. TAX THE WALL SKREE CROWD
3. MAKE CORPORATIONS PAY THEIR TAXES!
