Hmmmm....I was listening to Ed's show just a while ago in the car, and what he was saying on the air doesn't quite mesh with his apparent statement to Raw Story that he was "going to show support for Cindy Sheehan".
He was saying that he was going because he was curious, and wants to see what's going on. He made one statement that sounded very strange to me (did anyone else hear this? 'cause I can't recall it exactly)...something to the effect that he was "..certainly not going down there to lend support to HER.."...and it was the odd emphasis on the 'her' that struck me as odd.
I don't say he is at all AGAINST Cindy, but he seemed to me to be at pains to present his position as impartial; not necessarily a bad thing, but curious in light of Larisa's story.

Well, for what it's worth, Ed Schultz's website links to the Raw Story article and to BradBlog.

For those of you who have followed the 'lifevest' defibrillator harness theory of the Bush Bulge:
You may recognize this photograph taken 2-3 years ago in Crawford, as one that shows very clearly a box on Bush's back under his tee shirt. The photo here, unfortunately, has been cropped to fit and in the process the box-on-back is not included: but widen out the photograph and it's obvious. [As is, I believe, the strap depression under the shirt on Bush's right shoulder - which is included in this cropped image.]

I believe that Ed was saying that he was not going to Crawford to add hype to the gathering (a la Hannity at Shiavo hospice). He is going because it is an important story of our time.

That's the way I took Ed's statement, that he's going as an impartial observer, just to see for himself. He'll report, we'll decide. However, once he gets there and meets Cindy and all the other moms and vets, I think the cause will have a new supporter.

Jerry,
Yeah, I guess so. I dunno, some of his comments make me a tad uneasy, is all. I don't know where he's coming from sometimes.

I have listened to Ed since he came to KTLK 1150 in Los Angeles. He is a truth-seeker. He will tell anyone who will listen that "Bush is the worst President in history."

Terri (fellow S. Floridian),
Hopefully that will happen. I'll tune in tomorrow & see. It's certainly good to try & be impartial & judge for oneself; lord knows we could use more of that!
It's just that, as I said, sometimes Ed says something that makes me think "WHAT is he TALKING about??!!" Some of his recent comments on impeachment, for instance (I'm paraphrasing here)--that it's not gonna happen...people are foolish to be wasting their energy focusing on such a lost cause...stuff like that--made me crazy!
I tried calling in...I wanted to tell him "Impeachment is a part of our legal system and there seems to be a truckload of 'high crimes & misdemeanors' out there waiting to be investigated!"
But I never got through.

Ed sometimes is a little too right of left for me, but I do like his show, especially when some righty sets him off and it's like my old man after half a fifth of good single malt.. His heart's in the right place and with the right people, he doesn't kiss the ass of the Congress/Senate folks who come on for interviews, if he thinks they are acting against the people he says so right up front.
I heard him talking (well, parts of it) about the visit to Crawford today, and while he states that he intends to be an impartial voice, that doesn't fit with the support he has voiced for Cindy Sheehan over the last 1-1/2 weeks and I am sure that he will speak the truth to power while he is down there.
Sign up and attend a vigil event tomorrow night!!!

I believe Ed's comments on impeachment relates to the fact that we have a republican controlled congress. He believes impeachment will never happen because of that. Therefore, we 'lefties' need to realize that regardless of how much we believe it is warranted, the Democrats do not have a strength to make impeachment happen

Hi Ed:
I love your show & support you & your listeners 100% please remind our listeners that mid term elections are coming soon & you watch this son of a gun will start bringing troops back from Iraq for political reasons, then you'll see all the repub's gallivanting around saying see we I told you we would bring the troops home, just for VOTES, this would be wrong & I hope the people are smarter then that & will see right thru it! We need to take back congress & the Senate.
We Love ya Ed

Schultz obviously has a severe case of broadcast penis envy for the successful talkers who have real sponsors and networks that don't embezzel from boys and girls clubs and other charitable entities.
Promoting his show through the shameless use of Ms. Sheehan's obvious mental state is pathetic, shameless and disgusting. Gut bucket Schultz is the broadcast equivalent of Vince MacMohn and professional wrestling (Sorry Vince, I didn't mean to insult you that cruelly)

Why the use of the word porgressive? Can't you liberals use the word liberal or are you ashamed of it?

Paul and Dave are the examples of the ignorant redneck disinformed idiots that have come out of the woodwork lately. They still don't realize that there is nothing wrong with the word liberal.
They still have no idea what a progressive is, and are completely ignorant to the mass amounts of crimes of their own party yet harp everywhere about "Air America" supposedly getting sleazy payoffs.
What about all the bullshit tax evasion schemes of NBC, or Fox News? Do we hear about that? Do we hear about all the underhanded deals of the far right-media which dominates television? Nope, because they don't want anyone to hear about it.
It's all a joke. Go here and see what actual MEDIA says about "corporate kickbacks media"...
