Cheers, Peace, and a modicum of sanity would do nicely for the next decade. Thanks Brad, 99, and everyone else who helps make this the best Blog on the internets.

Speaking for myself...
The 70's were so tumultous that by the end of them I decided to tune out, nurture a few addictions and party...I went to sleep.
The 80's dawned with Reagan..no need to wake up for that. I continued to care for and feed my addictions, party and buy material shit at an alarming rate.
The 90's came...more of the 80's, but the addiction thing was getting kind of old and I'd been there done that with the party thing...So I just bought more material crap and watched a lot more television..still out cold in dreamland...
The 00's dawned...I decided to drop the addictions (it took a few tries but I got it done), The party thing was for folks much younger than I, I was really getting bored with having the latest gizmoes and television was shit for dead brains.
I started spiritually cleansing..reading everything I could get my hands on. I noticed that while I was asleep during the last 2 decades; the world hadn't changed much and America's chickens were coming home to peck and scratch...that as a society we were as unconscious as robots and teetering on fascism...
on the flip side I became a better friend and world citizen, I truly learned what it meant to give in order to recieve...In essence I was given a vision...a vision that wasn't exclusive to myself...a shared vision of a world where there is enough for everyone, where peace is the only goal and fears are laughed at...
At the dawn of the 20-teens...That world will come to consciousness...in the 60's, 70's and 80's they killed or jailed the visionaries and healers...today there are to many of us...the greed of the fascist corporatocracy has exposed them as simply fear mongering little money changers who won't be able to operate when the masses awaken....the revolution won't be violent but it will be absolute...
It's winter in America...but spring always comes...
Love brings Peace...Peace brings Justice...

Dear Brad, Soul Rebel, BlueHawk, Agent 99, et al,
Back atcha all and with much love. And do you notice that there's sort of a distinctive flavor or tanginess when you get a shot of love from a Lasagna? Even through cyberspace?
love,
Dave
p.s. I must be delirious, making Lasagna jokes my own self.

Brad,
I am very, very disappointed in you: the Teensies (or whatever) will not begin for another year! Another year of the Aughts (or whatever) to go, my man. Perhaps you forget, as so many who weren't around at the time evidently do, that there was no year zero.
Nonetheless ... happy New Year! Not new decade, just new year. Patience.

Thanks, Brad, and the same to you. I've been lurking a lot here and not commenting very often, but the BradBlog remains one of my favorites.

Zorg -
You may have missed it, but as we noted in several places recently (yesterdays Green News Report, during the Malloy Show while guest hosting this week etc) it's been such a crappy decade, we're gonna go ahead and call it over, whether it really is or not.
Other than that, your full nerdishness is much welcome and appreciated any time!

Oh boy, here we go on yet another mad loop around the sun, with the naughties finally behind us. I'd like to see health and happiness all around, and, at long last, Peace on Earth (the US could make a significant contribution by brings its boots home from the six - count 'em and weep - wars it is currently fomenting all over the place...
Thanks, Brad et al., for your devoted labor bringing us the finest blog around.

The media are awash with talking heads bloviating about the top stories of the last decade. The wired-in society. The growth of organic food. The new frugality. This is the ritual that reveals their true function in the culture: pacification (my emphasis). It's their way of signaling the masses that Bigger Thinkers are looking after things, so go back to your Wii or Survivor or Facebook reveries.
The amazing thing is how little is ever mentioned about the stories that really mattered, those that affected the very nature of our society, its institutions, and the relation of the people to their state and society.
Those stories paint a picture of danger, of a people who have lost control of their government and the corporations that own it. But you'll hear nary a word about such difficult truths from any storyteller in the conventional media.

My third decade and I'm only a teenager...that's interesting, I guess. At the start of this decade, I think I'm abandoning any hopes of party politics producing anything worthwhile. It's time for some social movements!
