   Question for David Swanson:

   The “Saturday Night Massacre” in the Nixon administration triggered impeachment. It involved the White House ordering a US Attorney to follow Nixon’s orders instead of maintaining his own independence.

   Archibald Cox refused and was fired.

   The White House has ordered the US Attorney for the District of Columbia to refuse to prosecute any contempt of Congress citations issued by the Congress against this White House.

   Should the consequences be the same in this Congress as it was in the Nixon era congress?

Bush comes out of the anaethesia he must have while undergoing medical testing. Let’s hope the watch dogs are watching every move.

   And, yeah, impeachment isn’t some option for congresspersons to flip on and off the table depending on the direction of the political winds. Impeachment is prescribed by the Constitution when high crimes and misdemeanors have been committed by the P and the VP, and various other federal officials, including Supremes. It’s not like it’s a choice, it’s a remedy for malfeasance, meant to protect us, the people, and it’s what the House is supposed to do! What part of their job don’t they understand? When I hire someone for huge bucks, a stupendous insurance plan, and an unbelievable pension, I expect that person to at least understand the parameters of the job. In a perfect world duhbaya would have been slapped and stomped down but good on the playground in kindergarten, and that would have been that. But he was born with a silver spoon up his nose, and has held a Get Out Of Jail Free card ever since. It’s time to, at long last, ITMFA!!!!!

   John Conyers gave me goosebumps. He arrived with “minor rock star status” — (or better!) at a reception sponsored by the Progressive Democrats of America.

   What a beautiful man – a wise and true gentleman, joined us just now in San Diego at the Holiday Inn for a reception. And there were goosebumps when he said on entering the standing room only crowd (filled with impeachment and other signs):

   “What are we waiting for? Let’s take these two guys out!”

   (Huge cheers in the room!!)

   Yes, he really said that – first thing as he came in the door here in San Diego and repeated it again later. He is mingling with us common people and will soon give a talk. I was so excited when I heard those words, I just had to share.

   Also, Land Shark was here and talked to Conyers in the presence of others about the disastrous Holt bill as well as impeachment issues. Conyers stated that he would be going for inherent contempt – he declared that as his intent.
